I requested Think Yourself Resilient because the title caught my interest. James Elliott kept me interested in his story, insights and advice well after I was done listening to the audiobook.
In Think Yourself Resilient, Elliott tells us the story of how he became resilient and how he overcame both his very difficult childhood and youth and his wrong concept of resilience. His experiences and what he has made of them make this book unique.
This is not a how-to book, exactly, but it's very inspiring and uplifting which may help readers overcome difficult times in life and build resilience through them rather than being crushed.

James Elliott's personality and unique story will appeal, especially, to young and not-so-young men in need of some encouragement and inspiration.

My thanks to the author, James Elliott, for sharing his story with us, and to the publisher and Netgalley for the ARC.

I don't know that I would have labelled this book as self-help, it is more of a memoir with some tips and tricks peppered throughout the story. With that said, I did love learning about James Elliott's life. James did not have an easy childhood but he has managed to overcome those obstacles, join the SAS, break world records, and go to school to become a psychotherapist.

Excellent biography style motivational self help guide. If James Elliott can do it then so can you and this comes across live and clear, some really great scenarios and explanations, not necessarily medical speak but real life language. I am going to read chapters of this book again, thank you #NetGalley for the audiobook to review.
