Angels Without Wings #0.5

Genesis of a Hero

Rate this book
For God, we fight.

John Decker knows the words well. All of God’s angels do. The command began with the onset of the War for Sins, in days long past when Lucifer fell from God’s grace. For John, the words mean purging Earth from the filth of demons – all the while trying to lend a helping hand of faith to those in need.

As the world falls into the clutches of the War, John struggles to balance his passion for battle with the growing love he feels for Denise Gibson. Every frown and smile she sends his way draws him closer to the edge of uncertainty. Never letting his faith falter, he finds that Lucifer’s agent have slipped through the cracks of protection angels provide to God’s innocent people. With Denise’s help, he must fight to end the surge in the War for Sins.

Loved it!! :) I bought it almost a week ago but haven't had time to start reading it. I pulled it up on the Kindle a little after noon today and got through it in about 3 hours. It's not a long read but definitely worth the $0.99! The characters are so great. There are a good chunk of action scenes and one part where the main character shows a very human side when he sees that his way of attacking the war isn't perhaps correct. He's the type of guy any woman would want to meet in real life! ;) Hunky, but with a soft side. I was very surprised by the touching pieces of romance. The ending was absolutely beautiful!!

I read the first book in the series before this prequel, but this only helped to solidify my attachment to the characters. If you want a fast, exciting read for a cheap price, this is it!!

An excellent installment in the series. I didn't like it as much as book 1, but it still captured my attention. The characters are written great and the author made me care about them immediately. It's definitely not as much of a young adult novel like the first book, but there's a lot of solid action. I think the reason I didn't like it as much was because the plot was as intricate. And it was fairly short. I read it in a total of a few hours and it really left me wanting more.

I did like all the tie-ins to the previous book. I'd recommend new readers to the series to go with book 1 first then read this, but either way won't ruin anything.

Loved this series!!! I'm not sure how many years this Genesis of a Hero book is set before the rest of the series, but it connects to the characters in all the books in a cool way. "John" is the main character and has so many levels its great. He's tough and strong but also sweet and loving and smart. There were times when he felt unstoppable but other times when he showed a really vulnerable side. For 99 cents, this was a steal on my kindle. My mom is starting to read the books now. She loves the Left Behind series and said this is not the same as that exactly, but she likes it just as much. So fantastic!

Great short read! It doesn't matter if you pick up this prequel before or after you start the series. I didn't think I'd get more absorbed into the characters, but I like them, perhaps, more than those in the first installment of the series. Great for all ages, I feel as if this book appealled to a wider audience than the first in the series. For only 99 cents, it's a great read at a great value.

Grandma Denise is one of my favorite characters in the series so it was interesting getting this perspective. And I got to "meet" Troy's grandpa John. This was a quick read and well worth the $0.99 I paid on Kindle. Lots of excitement and some good, clean romance. The genesis of a love story and a catapult into the series itself. So much fun!

Another Excellent book. It helped bring some of the family history together after reading the first book. Very well done! Another can't put it down book!
