In Mastering the Mental Game of Trading, Steven Goldstein shares his insights and experience as a renowned trading performance coach to help traders achieve success in the markets.
Through personal anecdotes and relatable stories of real traders, Goldstein explores the inner world of trading and reveals how our attitudes and misconceptions can prevent us from achieving our full potential.
Goldstein introduces his powerful model, the Performance Process Cycle, which teaches traders how to overcome their emotions and biases, improve self-awareness, and make sense of how they are impacted by their interactions with markets and uncertainty. By applying this model, traders can develop an unparalleled level of calm and objectivity, enabling them to navigate the treacherous terrain of financial markets with ease.
With Goldstein’s guidance, traders will be inspired to reflect on their own behaviours, beliefs, and actions as they work towards mastering the mental game of trading.
A very worthy addition to the psychology of trading
I like Steven's take on becoming a consistently profitable trader. It's all about learning self-control and to operate in a world without certainty, which makes most uncomfortable. Applying his approach should offer a viable solution; one many should strongly consider.
Up there with Market Wizards (Schwager) Alpha Trader (Donnelley) and Mark Douglass books as the best trading books of all time. I loved how he started each chapter with a quote. Great book
Hammers the point that trading is a performance activity, and as such, requires the trader to be in a optimal state to performer. Elite performers don't leave this to chance. They have a process, and Goldstein's performance process cycle provides the framework for the trader to develop theirs, in alignment with their true self.
Great book on the process every trader follows and how to navigate through it successfully. Working on putting your ego on your side is part of the Way to mastery.
