With Rachael under the control of Elizabeth, the leadership of Earth is quickly rotting from the inside out.
Jesse continues his search to find out what happened to the woman he loves, discovering secrets that would have been better left forever hidden beneath the surface.

I have been reading for longer than I can remember and probably writing for about the same amount of time.
My favorite genre is paranormal, and not the light kind. The dark and wickedly evil kind.
I have a thing for angels, but not necessarily demons.
I think prophecy and seers and everything to do with the future is fascinating.
Vampires must be bloodthirsty and viscous and werewolves must change on the full moon.
I was born under the cancer sign and am considered a moon child which is probably why I do my best thinking at night.
I am usually an epic fail at poetry and rarely try to write it but if you are curious to see the atrocity that is my attempts, there are two poems in my writing.
My favorite colors are black, ruby red, and deep green.
I am always willing to talk so pm me, friend me, follow me, or comment on something on my page whenever you want.

Received this book for an honest review.

The Rift (Book #1) left me very excited to read this second book of the Vessel Full of Souls series, because it ended with its main character, Rachael, going evil (or at least, being controlled by her "trainer" Elizabeth) and revealing her pregnant state. At that point, the father of her baby is pretty well implied so the main thing I wondered was how Rachael was going to end up getting out of her controlled environment and become the great ruler she is supposed to be. (You know, the nice, non-bloodlustful ruler. Is that too much to ask?) I guess it is, because there were so many twists and turns with this second installment, that I did not know where to turn.

I am not even going to mention the first twist that occurs, or one of the first at least, because there is nothing I would be able to say without giving it away. But let's just say it is a surprise no one saw coming. Well, actually I do not know if that is true, but Elizabeth didn't see it coming anyway and that's the important thing.

Second twist. Well, it is not exactly a twist, but it was making me a tad angry at the story. A good angry, because I just wanted to read more. I wouldn't exactly call it betrayal, but people (or should I say Angels and Demons) are kind of starting to show their true colors. They are parting ways, doing things that will benefit them and theirs, revealing hidden identities, etc. Things that just seem to make this story even better and allow it to grow exponentially.

I actually think I put more than one twist into that last paragraph, but I will continue on.

Overall, this book was A LOT darker than the last. It had a more serious tone to it as the characters (both good and bad) attempt to take control. I love second books in a series because since there is really no backstory to get through, you see more of who each character is and how the situations they are put in affect them.

Sadly, I do not think the third one of this series is out yet, but I am eagerly awaiting its arrival. I desperately have to know what happens. How the story ends up playing out and whether or not good really can prevail in such a late state of the game.

*I recieved a copy of this book to beta read*

S.K.N strikes again with an amazing book. With amazing characters, and a plot to die for, I was hooked from start to finish. We go on a jurney again with Rachael as Elizabeth pulls her strings. The author makes her characters feel real because of their emotions.

"She will have brown eyes that say everything I ever need to know without her having to speak. She will be beyond extraordinary. She is beyond extraordinary. I will give her everything she ever wanted. She will never have to be afraid or alone. She will always have me. I will never let anything happen to her."

Jesse is one of my favorite characters, and I love that he wears his heart on his sleve. But, you can only take so much from the person you love, and we see that in this book.

Rachael is a strong female character, but I lost some respect for her in this book. She is one of those characters that you began to hate, because of all of the people she hurts.

“You may be the father of my child and we may be engaged.” She stopped briefly. “But I am still your queen and you will do as I command. I don’t need a reason!”

Then, she makes you feel sad for her at the end. You would think she would learn not to treat people the way she did.

This is a well written book, that will suck you in and have you wanting mor. I am glad I got the chance to read this book. I am so excited to read book 3, but I have to wait because, this book isn't even out yet!!

If you have not read book 1, make sure to pick it up, because book 2 is coming soon! 5 stars to this awesome book!

SKN Hammerstone comes roaring back with the next installment in the Vessel of Souls series and I must say that I was very, very impressed. Hammerstone's writing craft has improved dramatically, and the story itself has transformed into full-blown epic supernatural fantasy. Bloody battles and betrayal abounds, and I must commend Hammerstone for weaving a satisfying and complex mythology that is easy to follow but feels well-developed and deep. The characters are also very engaging and I was thrown for a loop several times. Can't wait for the next book!

Great book. The whole series has an excellent storyline, and this book showcases that perfectly, although I must say that the first half of the book is a little slow. I was happy to see that importance has been laid on the characterization. Also, the twists and turns in the plot are just amazing.
Even better than the last one! Definitely looking forward to the third part!

I enjoyed the continuing lives of the characters from the first book, The Rift. Was it thrilling? Yes. Biggest drawback? I now have to wait for yet another sequel...

Good book for those into angels and demons.
