Off the Clock is a really sweet romance about brave hearted Cara that holds her family together all while bringing her new bosses company back from the brink.
I really felt for Cara from the get go for taking care of her sick mom and pesky brother and being strong enough to keep it together for herself, its nice finding a strong female in romance.
I love how realistic the characters and the plot are, its fantastic and refreshing to read a book you can honestly and realistically relate to on all counts.
The amusing crush Austin has on his assistant Cara is quite entertaining as they go through the progression of a professional relationship, to a social relationship into friendship and infatuation, Kenzie brings you right along with them. There is only one love scene but the scene itself is hot!
I got so into Austin and Cara's story that I wasn't ready for it to be over yet, but as its a short story it was so good I really wanted it to continue. Alas, all good things must end.
I look forward to reading more by Kenzie Michaels in the near future.

Cara is the ultimate daughter. She had been taking care of her mother with Alzheimer's Disease. It has been eating her time, so her social life and her love life was pretty non existent. After work, she would directly go home and she'd checked up on her mom even at work. It doesn't help when her brother pretty much likes to wipe her cash out.

It wasn't until a colleague mentioned to Austin about his assistant. Yes, she was quiet but Cara has always been efficient and attractive too. But he already had a bad experience with having a relationship with someone he works with. Yet, he knew that she was different. There was something about her that pulls him towards her.

It was a crisis that brought them together, Austin finally get a glimpse of her life. He finally understood why she was always in a hurry to go home, or whom does she call every now and then. It was then he realized that Cara might be strong, but she also needed someone. Even the strongest people needed someone to take care of them. That someone could be him. :)

It was short, and I was surprised that it had everything covered. I have finished it in one sitting, I would have love it even more it was longer. Nevertheless, it's short, sweet, and easy to the heart.

Austin Hammon made the mistake with mixing business with pleasure with his former administrative assistant, but he does not plan to make the same mistake with Cara. Cara is a breath of fresh air at work, but she is stickler for her time after work. Even though he has vowed not to get involved with Cara, the more time he spends with her the more he wants to get to know her, especially why she runs off every night and to who?

Short but sweet story. I thought that the story was packed full of details and a an ideal read for when you are needing a much needed break. Wonderful quickie.

A perfect touch of romance, lust and love. The sex scenes were pretty intense, the romance had great build-up and the ending was pure bliss. Honestly, I'm surprised it was as good as it was with it being so short. I'd love to read on about these characters though. See where things end up say five or ten years own the road.
Here is to hoping for more!

This book was only 44 pages. So because of the shortness of it all, it turned out really choppy. I kind o liked where it was going. But the relationship seemed a bit rushed and not so realistic. And the setting where the book ended was surprising to me. It wasn't really a stable relationship, nor do I think it would have lasted. But the book in whole I thin has potential.
