I write what I know and love: adult romance with blue-collar heroes and real-life flavor. Tattoos, handcuffs and men in uniform are a few of my favorite things, and it shows in my thirty+ published books.

I live in the South with my man in uniform, who I married for the entertainment value. Just kidding - it was the handcuffs, err, true love. ;)

So far, our happily ever after includes a couple kids, German Shepherd dogs and a mutual appreciation of timely 'that's what she said' jokes.

When I'm not writing, I love reading, good coffee, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and whatever outdoor adventures I can find.

I also love hearing from readers, so don't be shy! If you've enjoyed something I've written, hearing from you would make my day.

Reread 28/4/21.

Do you have those books that you read eons ago that were kinda okay, but nostalgia made you love it no matter what?

This is the book for me. It's not remarkable per say, but damn if this book isn't my comfort reread. It's short, so you could finish it in a couple of hours. It's safe, kinda uneventful but so so very dear to my heart.

------------------------

I feel like this is the most underhyped book ever. This is my most favourite knocked-up heroine ever with the sweetest supporting hero.

I am not ashamed to admit that I have a huge author crush on Ranae Rose, I have read and enjoyed pretty much all of her m/f erotic fiction. The Inked In The Steel City series has a particularly large place in my heart as reading Hot Ink is how I discovered her awesomeness!

Inked In the Steel City Reading Order -

•Hot Ink
•Innocent Ink
•Dedicated Ink

The books can all be read as standalone stories, but they aren't long books so it is worth reading them in order if you can.

Abby has popped up frequently in the first and second books, and I always found her quite bubbly and quick off the mark. It is good too see her get her own story and learn more about her as a person. She is an artist and not just in tattoo ink, and she suffers the same insecurities and confidence issues as most women, as well as having to deal with the fact she is pregnant from a one night stand with a guy she has had no contact with since. I liked that she didn't immediately understand the depth of feelings that Sam had for her, it made me smile every time she realised he was doing something for her because he cared and not just out of obligation to her and the pregnancy.

As luck would have it Sam has been keeping an eye out for Abby, and chooses his moment well to walk back into her life. I liked Sam (I have a thing about guys in uniform, especially if they are willing to put them on in the name of fun!!!), he is a calm sort of character, nothing fazed him in the book, he dealt with the pregnancy and the drama pretty well, initially using actions rather than words to show Abby just how deeply he cared for her, of course muscles and tattoos always helps things along...

The story in dedicated ink moves quite quickly, but as always you don't feel like you are missing anything, Ranae always manages to provide you with full characters and a comprehensive plot line without any gaps. My only niggle and it is very small, is that there were alot of references to their initial one night stand, but we never got the full playback of what happened between Sam and Abby on that fateful July night, and I for one would love to read how they met in that bar and what occurred afterwards.......

All in all another brilliant read from Ms. Rose, and I can't wait for the next instalment in this extremely addictive series.

I was provided with a copy of this book by the author, and it was my pleasure to read it, and provide the above honest review.

I liked the idea of this story but it fell flat for me. The tone was just very matter of fact and dull. I thought it was me at first since I had just started this third person story after reading a first person book, but no. It was just very bland.

And there was no chemistry between the H/h! I never felt anything for these two. At one point Abby was saying how much chemistry and sparks they had and I just had to raise an eyebrow at that. I have never read a story with a couple with less sparks than these two.

A good book has highs and lows but this one was just a flat line. Sam was a good man but both him and Abby had no personality whatsoever.

A disappointing read.

I throughly enjoyed this romance. The hero is fresh out of a bad relationship. The heroine is a tattoo artist who finds herself expecting twins after a one night stand.

The hero steps up right away and the romance grows from there. It is engaging.

What keeps it from being a 4 star book is the lack of rich secondary relationships and the flatness of the villain of the piece. The villainy is pretty minor and this is many a lovely character driven piece that I really liked.

Can't wait to read the rest of the series.

A good idea for the story that fell flat for this reader. I didn't sense any chemistry between Abby and Sam. Sam I liked a little more than Abby, who was about as bland a heroine as I can imagine. There just wasn't anything special about her.

Dedicated Ink is book three in the Inked in the Steel City series. It was another light, fun read with hot little love scenes to get your blood pumping.

Summary:
Abby never thought following her body's desires could ever turn out so wrong...or maybe into everything she never knew she was missing. It's been two months since a sizzling hot one night escapade with a tall, built, gorgeous hunk. Despite the no-strings-attached deal Abby struck up with her sexy one-nighter, she hasn't been able to forget a single thing. In fact, he pops into her mind frequently, and Abby yearns to have some sort of connection with him. Well, she unexpectedly gets her connection, but not one she ever thought of or even hoped for. Finding out she's two months pregnant with the man's twins couldn't have shocked her more, but when he walks into the tattoo studio she works in, her stomach truly hits the floor. Now any hope of a rekindled romance is somewhat dashed by the information she must impart. Sam is sworn to protect and serve as a Pittsburgh police officer, and he would never turn his back on responsibility. Sam had been thinking of the beautiful Abby ever since that night and could only count himself lucky that when he decided on a new tattoo, he found her among the sites he checked. Now he's determined to do things right and start up a relationship with the delicate woman who haunts his thoughts and dreams. He never imagined that they would be linked by much more than their mutual desires, but by the new life he and Abby created. Although shocked, he couldn't be happier, especially after the disaster and heartbreak of his last relationship. Both agree to try it out as a couple, but insecurities can have a negative effect on any budding relationship. Sam went through a rough time with his ex, and although he's sure Abby isn't anything like her, he's worried that she will come to resent being stuck with him as a father for her children and a partner. After all, it wouldn't be the first time someone thought that. Abby wants nothing more than to be a family unit with Sam and their babies, making a life and home together. But she worries that as her pregnancy advances and she cant contribute as much, Sam will feel burdened by the responsibility he did t ask for. Sam and Abby have a long hormone filled journey to finding if real love can blossom from the all-encompassing passion they share, and it wont be made easy when jealous exes and Sam's dangerous job provide obstacles to their happiness.

Sam was fantastic. I loved that he worked so hard to see Abby again, especially after what he went through with his ex. He was sweet, thoughtful, insightful, and ecstatic over his new family. His vulnerability when it came to how Abby felt for him just touched my heart. We saw Abby quite a bit in the previous books. She was always portrayed as a quiet talent with a bubbly personality. Her situation changing so drastically didn't change that. She accepted it, and made plans to move on in a different way. My only wish is we got a little more interaction with the Hot Ink team and her, especially when she was so worried about how they would react and how her pregnancy would effect her job. Over all, a sweet little read and I cant wait to see who's up next! <3

Abigail and Sam met in a bar on a Summer night where they were both trying to forget someone. They had one incredible night and they went their own ways. It was an incredible memory, until Abby found out she was pregnant. And imagine her further surprise when one day her appointment at Hot Ink is Sam, but will he want to be involved in her pregnancy? Will he want to be a father to twins!

This is the third installment in Ranae Rose’s Inked in the Steel City series. The series revolves around the tattoo shop Hot Ink. Most of this book is centered on the couple; Abigail and Sam. We do get some glimpses of characters from the first two books but there is minimal interaction, this is not the book to catch up on Mina, Eric, Karen or Jed. Abigail and Sam are great characters. Honestly I missed the other characters; the most involved secondary character is Abby’s sister Natalie. Abby is more reserved in this book than I pictured her from the previous books. Sam is a police officer who works various shifts. I was impressed with his sensitivity. I did find it odd that there was no mention of his family, and only a few mentions of friends of his. This book truly centers on the relationship between Abby and Sam. Their relationship has an ease to it right from the start, they do not have any direct conflict in this book which seemed odd given the circumstances of the pregnancy.

Some books I read that has the heroine pregnant with twins portrays the pregnancy as all roses and rainbows. I am a mother of twins, and I felt Ranae wrote a story that appropriately represented the pregnancy. Since this book covers the entire pregnancy it is understandable that there are scenes that are not as descriptive as others. The last few chapters centering around the twins birth warmed my heart.

This was a great installment in this series. I look forward to more from Ranae Rose. I received this book from the author for my honest review.

As always another great book written by Ms. Ranae! Abby I loved her, and her thoughts, "hey Sam, nice to see you again. I peed on a stick less than an hour ago and guess what? I'm pregnant and you're the father! I bet you're glad you chose Hot Ink for your next tattoo, huh?" Sam he's just the perfect gentleman always worrying about his gal, "you seem like you're on edge," Sam said. She was so clearly nervous that he just couldn't pretend not to notice. "Is it something I did, or said? Or..." He's also a caring guy, "you thought I'd wait 'till my shift was over after finding out you're in the hospital?" He's also a jealous sort, "so am I. Don't even mention the possibility of this happening with you and someone else. The idea of any other man touching the mother of my children is enough to make me want to break someone's bones." Well I'm ready for the next book in the series, if there is a next one.

I am officially addicted to this series. I loved Abby! She was strong, yet vulnerable and it made watching her journey so much fun. Sam is such a good guy and a *sigh* cop with ink. This is an "out of order" love story where the babies come before love and an HEA, but it is not cliche. We do not spend the book *spoiler alert* dealing with all of the complications being preggo with twins can cause and instead we are focused on Sam and Abby building upon the connection they felt the night they met and decided to escape their lives through one another. Is it an easy road? absolutely not, but it feels authentic even when the past shows rears it's ugly head. If you have not read any of the other Ink series books, have no worries. This is a stand alone novel and while there are cross over characters, you do not need any prior knowledge of them to thoroughly enjoy this book. This is a hot, sweet, and complete (yay for no cliffhanger). I really hope there is another book in this series soon! I seriously am addicted!

WOW, just WOW!

I don't have any words to express how much I LOVED this book. I mean, I might have said the same with the two books before this one, but THIS ONE... Hands down (like my bff said) is the best of the series from what I gather from her and I must admit that for me it will be too. Maybe the other two ware awesome and perfect, but this one will be my little treasure. I loved everything. From the story line, the beginning, the middle, the climax, the epilogue... just all of it. I fell in love with Sam instantly. He is what any woman wants; a sexy, protective, lovable and dedicated man who breaths because the woman he loves does too. I just *sighs* want someone like him for me and I'm sure that anyone would. It makes my heart ache in the pretty way. The scenes were adorable and his lines were to remember.

If you want to read something fast, sweet, lovely, sexy and hot... READ THIS BOOK. It doesn't matter if you don't want to read the first two books (which they are awesome too), but if you just want to read this one, then do it. I recommend it and I know you will enjoy it.

Abby and Sam spend a hot night together. No strings attached, just wild fun. A few months later Abby discovers that she is pregnant with this super hot one night stands baby. Then as fate would have it, Sam comes walking back into her life just as it is about to change. He has not stopped thinking about her since their “night”, he is hoping that connection and spark from that first night is still there.

The spark is there with some life changing news.

A wonderful short story , that is heart warning and passionate, sexy and romantic. Abby and Sam complemented each other nicely. I enjoyed seeing them become a couple as her pregnancy progress. I thought the plot good. Some mild drama that added to the depth of the story. I enjoyed reading Dedicated Ink and recommend it if you enjoy sexy cops, passionate romance or tattoos. The Inked in the Steel City series is becoming a favorite.

ARC review : I was given this book for an honest review.

A one night passionate stand turns the pregnancy stick blue! This happens to Abby after her one night with Sam.Never expecting to see him again,he shows up at her place of work Hot Ink to get a tattoo 2 months later.
Abby tells Sam of the pregnancy and he is very accepting of the fact,no tantrums, nothing, nada!.Abby reassures him that he is indeed the father and the story progresses.
They eventually move in together to try and bond as a new couple and parents to be.
This couple is smoking hot together and wastes no tine in reigniting their passion, their smexy times are hot!
There is a little mystery thrown in along with the scorned ex OW.Yeah, saw that one comming. There is also some drama with the birth of the twins and Sam being shot.
Great 3rd entry into this series that I enjoyed.Took me a while to actually finish this book ,but worth it.

You might be asking yourself, why the hell has she reviewed another book about people with tattoos? Honest answer: I think maybe they're my current obsession. I am no longer interested in reading mysteries - now I just want to read about people falling in love (preferably if they have tattoos). I am changeable like the wind - just as I said I would be a few months ago. Let's see how long this obsession lasts. Ha.

Anyway, that was an unnecessary personal digression. Has nothing to do with the task at hand. The task at hand is to tell you what I think about book three of Inked In the Steel City series. And much like the other two books - I'm basically going to tell you that I loved it.

But before I do that - I feel it is necessary to say just how impressed I am with Ranae Rose. She is writing a series, and so far each book is extremely different from each other. Some series you read and it's basically the exact same stories with different people starring in it. ((Nora Roberts is pretty bad for this)). I am impressed that she manages to convey each set of characters so differently and still so well.

Anyway! Once again, this book was good. It was a fun read, that actually made me a little bit nervous by the end. Though I just said I was over mysteries - I did like that there was a tiny bit of mystery going on in this story. Kept the plot moving quickly - you didn't get bored due to the stale story.

Overall, I once again loved the characters and story. And I am becoming more and more impressed with Ranae Rose.

Not good, not bad, just kind of empty and blah. Nothing much seemed to happen for the entire book and my opinion is that the relationship would have appeared sweeter and the story less boring if there had been more show and less tell.

For example we're only made aware of the fact that Abby and Sam had been out on dinner dates a few times because it came up as a way to explain why they were suddenly so comfortable snuggling with each other on the sofa (which I get the impression we only see because it happens to coincide with an ominous rock being thrown through the window). Then a minor "dramatic" moment happens which only seemed to occur to let Sam go on about his horrible ex before inviting Abby, a woman he'd only really known for 2 months despite helping her get unexpectedly pregnant, to move in with him. Later on Abby messes up cooking dinner and is markedly upset about it until Sam suggests they go out, but instead of seeing them do that and Sam reassuring her it wasn't a big deal it immediately cut to them getting naked and having sex at home. Again.

Like I said, it just felt abrupt because we didn't see their relationship deepening, we just got told the highlights when something potentially-but-not-really interesting happened and needed a bit of an explanation for how it made sense and why we readers should care. As a result I never really found a reason to get emotionally invested in the characters, their relationship, or if they got a proper HEA and it felt like a chore to get to the end.

Dedicated Ink: Abby and Sam 3rd: Abby a the only female tattoo artist at Hot Ink had a hot, sexy one night stand to months ago, but now she is pregnant, and the man who showed her just what she was missing that night is nowhere in sight. Until he walks into hot Ink as her next appointment. Can she risk the rekindling with him with her being pregnant?
Sam is a police officer sworn to serve and protect and won’t back down from his responsibility. Abby has haunted his dreams all summer, not that he has her again even with her pregnant he’s not going to let her get away again. Can the make it with their chemistry? Will real love find them before the due date arrives and is there something in the shadows working against them?

I love Abby and Sam, they are my favorite characters out of all the books in this series. I found Abby refreshing and unlike any character I have read, she takes the pregnant on pretty calmly and I glad that she was the one to tell Sam about her being pregnant. Sam was just as amazing, he had a hard time when it comes to women and with Abby they seem to fit together. The have up and downs but always work it out. I loved the story and the twists kept me guessing. As it is becoming a theme I wanted more, it needed to be longer (not really needed but wanted.)

This was just a "meh" book. The description caught my interest - cops and tattoos? SURE. (Been trying to find some new authors so I've been trying new stuff). But... I don't know. This just didn't do it for me. The idea could have been good. But... everything was just kind of ... meh.

The characters - Not the worst characters Ive read, but not the best either. They were kind of flat, and to be honest, I didn't really care if they got together in the end, kids or not. I found that there was no chemistry between the two main characters - and for a one night stand? Wow they sure hooked up fast. I found the heroine had very little personality, and the hero was.. dull.

The plot - I found this really hard to follow, not the plot itself, because lets face it, it was a pretty predictable plot, but more how it was executed, just when the author had a good scene going (which for me was rare) she would jump to days/weeks/months later! Ummm WHAT JUST HAPPENED?

All in all, I wouldn't recommend this, and regret spending my money on it. Give me a Nora Robert, Linda Howard, Suzanne Brockmann, Sandra Brown read any day.

Two months after a one night stand Abby discovers she is pregnant. She doesn't expect to ever see the guy again. When he shows up in Hot Ink for a tattoo it isn't by accident. He can’t stop thinking about the night they shared. But is he ready to be a father?

This story was by turns sweet, scary, funny, sad and oh so sexy. These two veritable strangers brought together by a night of passion and its consequence working together to make the best of things. This book can be read stand-alone but the others are so good you need to read them too. Besides there are a few inside jokes you might not get if you hadn't read at least Innocent Ink.

I’d like to thank the author for giving me an ARC to read for a fair and honest review. I really enjoyed this book.

Dedicated Ink was the best of the Inked in the Steel City series. I loved every minute of this story of Anna and Sam. Anna being the only female tattoo artist at Hot Ink has always made her character stand out to me. Honestly, I never anticipated her story to be literally blow me away. Sam is the definition of perfection. Everything about him is selfless and thoughtful. Not one reader could resist this mans charm. Just like the other two novels this was a short story, but it was a little more action motivated than the past novels. With an added mixture of danger and suspense I was captivated from the start. I am anxious to see if we will continue this series. At my count there are still two characters left. ~BookWhisperer Reviewer Jax~

OMG! WHY, IS THE WORD AMAZING USED SO MUCH? THIS BOOK HAS THAT WORD USED EVEN MORE THAN THE OTHER TWO BOOKS. CUTE, ROMANTIC STORY ABOUT SAM & ABBY. I ENJOYED THIS ONE MOST OF ALL. HAPPY THERE WAS MORE MENTION OF PLACES IN PITTSBURGH.
I THINK ALL THREE BOOKS WERE VERY SIMILAR WITH ONLY MINOR CHANGES TO EACH STORY LINE. ALL THREE COUPLES USED THE WORD AMAZING AFTER HAVING SEX. THE SEX SCENES WERE VERY WELL WRITTEN BUT WERE VERY SIMILAR IN ALL THREE BOOKS. THE CHARACTERS DID GET MORE DEVELOPED BY BK#2 BUT SOMETHING FOR ME WAS JUST MISSING. PLENTY OF HOT SEX SCENES BUT THE COUPLES WERE KINDA FLAT LACK-LUSTER PEOPLE. LIKE EATING SOMETHING THAT’S GOOD BUT YOU JUST FEEL LIKE . . . THERE’S A MISSING INGREDIENT. SIGH! ;]

Dedicated Ink by Ranae Rose is the third book in her Inked in the Steel City series. Each book can be read as a standalone.

I absolutely loved Dedicated Ink, definitely my new favorite in the series. Abby is a tattoo artist at the Hot Ink Tattoo Studio who ends up pregnant after a one night stand. Fortunately for Abby her one night stand is Sam, a hunky police officer who has no problems with being a father. The book has plenty of romance, great characters, and and an interesting plot. Highly recommend!!!

When two people are reeling from disastrous relationships, the last thing they're looking for is everlasting love.
But one night of passion is about to intertwine their futures in the most unexpected way.
This is the third book in the series and lacked nothing in intensity and romance, but what I loved the most about Abby and Sam's story, was the reality that this scenario could actually happen to anyone.
Abby's body art is beautifully described and her strength of character is a breath of fresh air!
I hope I'm not waiting too long for book four.

One night stand turns to be more

Sometimes a one night stand becomes something more. In Abby's case she became pregnant and didn't think she would see the baby daddy again. Sam meets Abby at a bar where both are nursing their breakups. Flirting leads to sex and that leads to Abby becoming pregnant. Sam is shocked but happy to become a father. Abby is shocked as well but happy to become a mom and excited that Sam is going to be part of their lives. Throughout the pregnancy Sam and Abby deal with a crazy person that keeps the book a little suspenseful.

I read the first chapter of this book from the back of Officer Out of Uniform. I really enjoyed it and was sucked right in. So much that I ran to Amazon and bought this book. It was a huge disappointment. The story felt very rushed. A scene will be great and then it will jump to 3 weeks or 2 months later. Hard to follow and a waste of time. When the book was over, I didnt feel like I really knew any of the characters. The plot was pretty good, but it definitely lacked follow through. Not recommended

This by far was my favorite of the series. I enjoyed the storyline so much. Sam is your all around good man. He was accepting during Abby tough time. Highly recommended to read. It was entertaining and keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. The characters personal are enjoyable to read about also.

I didn't mind this book. I have never read this kinda story before so it was a change to read. It's funny how I love at the end of the book they have kids, well in this book they had kids and the whole story was about the pregnancy. I guess I'm not giving it a 5 star because there was no big Climax, but still a great romance story.

Cute book but not much of a story line

But I could summarize it in a couple of lines:

Couple have a drunken one night stand.
She turns up pregnant.
They meet again.
It turns out she's a tattoo artist, he's a cop.
They're having twins.
Fall in love.
Cop troubles + ex-gf trouble.
She gives birth and they live HEA.
THE END.

Here. Now you don't even have to read it!
