Wonderfully Impactful Quick Read

This book was such a big help to me. The described prompts were better than other prompts that I've read before. Come to think of it... this is probably the most encouraging writing book that I've ever read. I learned that it's o.k. to face a constant battle on my inside between the stoic soldier and the vulnerable, disabled one.

I subscribe to the Write Practice blog's RSS feed and have always found the prompts really useful. This little book combines some of the very best ones into an easy to digest collection.

All of the exercise challenge your brain to think in new ways and I will definitely be referring back to it whenever I am in need of a little creative inspiration.

My Rating System:
1 star: I will never post a 1 star review because this means it was so bad I couldn't finish it, and I don't won't publicly rate a book I haven't read all the way through.
2 star: I may have liked the story but it was badly written or it may have been a boring story well written. Something about it kept me reading but I didn't enjoy it.
3 star: A good, enjoyable read. If the description appeals to you I'd recommend reading it.
4 star: A really good book that I thoroughly enjoyed and may even read again. I will want to read other books by the same author. Highly recommend.
5 star: Reserved for books that blew me away and whose characters I can't get out of my head. These are books that I will definitely read again, possibly several times. If I read an e-book version I may even have to go buy a hard copy for my shelves. Why are you still here? Go read this book right now.

Disclosure: I was provided a copy of The Write Practice: 14 Prompts via StoryCartel.com in exchange for my honest review.

I enjoyed this book very much. The introduction was full of recommendations of other books of prompts, which I found to be generous for the readers. I enjoyed each chapter's story, followed by the prompt and some tips for writing on that particular topic.

I would have rather read through and completed each prompt with a writing group, but since I don't have one yet, I worked on the ones I felt drawn to the most. Great writing resource for any writer looking to fine tune their craft.

I really enjoyed reading through the 14 prompts provided in this book. I can certainly see the value of stepping through the exercises within a writing group - which is how the book is intended to be used. Basic and not-so basic exercises and prompts take you out of writing block, stepping by Haikus and Hemingway. Good for new writers, but also for more experienced ones wanting to work on their writing mojo.

15 Days to Write and Submit a Short Story by Joe Bunting.
I really enjoyed reading this book. I myself plan to try to get thoughts to paper to publish in the future. This is an excellent guide for those new writers out there, they do not know where to start. It is a short read with lots of information. I highly recommend this book to the creative new who should be heard. Thank you Mr. Joe Bunting.

I received a free digital copy from storycartel.com in exchange for a review.

The prompts were excellent, and they gave me something to write about. I like the way Joe Bunting started with a story before introducing the prompt. I particularly liked when he mentioned elements of storytelling. His writing style and advice made me relate to him. Great book.
