When Shannon's relatives take a trip, they leave their parrot, Bongo, in her care. She soon learns that Bongo squawks mean words. Nana Weathers, Boomer, Chloe, and Shannon involve Bongo in their musical activities to encourage better behavior. Meanwhile, the group learns that another basketball player is bullying Robbie on the court. How will the group help him? And can they help Bongo leave bullying behind?

About the author

Christine Isley-Farmer is the author of the children's chapter book series, "Boomer's Tales." Her books have won recognition in children's fiction and children's chapter book categories.

Christine is also a writer of miscellaneous poetry.
She holds BM. MM, and DMA degrees and is Professor Emeritus in the School of Music at Middle Tennessee State University where she coordinated the voice area. She has sung professionally in opera and concert in the US and Europe. Christine currently lives in Murfreesboro, TN with her husband and her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Dylan.

Bongo Learns His Lessons is an enchanting story about growth, learning from mistakes, and the journey toward becoming a better version of oneself. Bongo's misadventures are both amusing and educational, making it an enjoyable read for children. Christine Isley-Farmer’s ability to blend humor with life lessons ensures that young readers will not only be entertained but also enriched by the story.
