WARNING: This is NOT romance in any way, shape or form! This book is complete and total ohmyfkinggawd EROTICA. Okay, let's be honest... this makes erotica look like children's tales. I do love hot and steamy books (when they're well written) but... I pretty much read this story with my mouth hanging open and my heart hammering the entire time. Not sure if I was more aroused or scared to death- Jared has a penchant for some things that drew a very loud and very adamant "Hell No!" from me more than once. I don't read serious erotica, most who know me will attest to this, BUT...
It was really well done. Obviously this is no letter to Hustler, and Mr. Malden knows how to write. I'm not sure if I now have a serious crush or am so horrified that I can't tell the difference, but I'm definitely going to be brave and read his other works, just as soon as I buy more cigarettes and set an appointment with my therapist...
Be brave with me! Take a chance and read the book. Don't be afraid to be completely traumatized and shoved so far out of your comfort zone that you'll need an airline ticket to get back! Bravo, Jake! I think I lust you...

I don't often write reviews; I prefer to rate a book and move on. That's one of the things that makes Goodreads so much better than Amazon - you can let people know you like a book but if you don't have time to explain why, you don't have to.
Anyway, when it came time to rate The Jared Effect by Jake Malden I felt I should offer at least a brief comment since giving a book four stars could be viewed as a recommendation. Which I would totally recommend this book if you're looking for a cheap thrill that will leave you so hot and bothered your significant other might be willing to worship at Jake's feet. But if you're looking for an epic story this is not it.
The Jared Effect is basically three very short stories of down and dirty sex with little else to offer. That being said however, Jared is one of those characters that would have me buying the next book just to see what he gets up to next. Unlike Gavin from Malden's latest book Career Move, Jared was just charming enough to make me forgive his complete lack of respect for women.

The Jared Effect was the first book from Jake Malden that I ever read, and let me tell you, it is definitely a one-handed read. ;) My friend used to rave about Jake Malden's writing skills, but I had never heard of him before so one day I decided to give him a read. I started with The Jared Effect because that was what she was reading when she was raving about him. She said it was hot, but damn, it was scorching!
Jared is a rockstar who you would think of as a slacker hitchhiking on the side of the road, but he is really something else. And boy do the ladies love him! He is in no way lacking in confidence and from the delicious scenes I read, he has no reason not to be confident. As Jared takes us on three adventures we fall deeper in lust with this man. Jake has had me hooked on his books since reading about and meeting Jared, too bad he can only be a book boyfriend. ;)

I started reading The Jared Effect with low expectations but enjoyed each of the three short stories more as I went along. The writing and editing are both decent which is unusual for the genre. Where the book excels is with its presentation of hot, gritty, sloppy sex that revved my motor and could only have been penned by a man. I wonder: does it play as well with female readers?

The Jared Fable....
What does the word 'fable' mean - a short story, typically with animals as characters conveying a moral.
And let me tell you, Jared is a beast!
The Jared Effect is, in effect, three stories. Bad boy, Jared, takes a road trip and along that trip is involved in three very sexy situations. Now this book has been buried in the bowels of Amazon, is it the cover? Or is it the content? I suspect the latter. There is a lot of bad language but somehow it didn't feel gratuitous. As much as the repetitve use of certain words may grate, it did fit the character. And what were these situations? As each story ended a moral tale was uncovered. In one way Jared was providing a service, to open a innoncent girls eyes to her cheating boyfriend, to have two friends question their friendship and to punish a teacher for making him wait and reveal her true self. But it's mainly about the sex, the smoking hot sex. Some of it is not pleasant but again, if we disect the character, it fits. This isn't a romance and I got to wondering what made Jared the way he was. Is he punishing women for a reason? This book raised lots of questions and I think Mr Malden could do well (maybe he already has, I've yet to check) to give us a novel based on Jared, who he is, why he is and which lucky girl is going to finally get him. Jared is most definitely an interesting character, humourous, intelligent and artistic in every sense of the word.
There are some technical issues, line breaks missing but that would not spoil your enjoyment of this book, if this is your cup of tea. You're about to get three stories about pure, carnal sex but if you look deeper, you'll see there is a little bit more. You're not going to like Jared at times but I guarantee, you're going to want him the more you dislike him.

The Jared Effect was a a brilliant composition of three short ,hot ,sexy stories ,all involving that one badass musician called Jared Morgan
Effect ??? he certainly did. He loved the ladies and the ladies loved him .
Jared is on his travels when he encounters two beautiful women whom he seduces with his wit and charm .But this story is not as straight forward as you would imagine. I loved the female character Vanessa in this one. Hot and feisty ! The Perfect woman I feel to set Jared on the straight and narrow .
The second story is set in the UK. And revolves around Jared working at a funfair where he meets two beautiful ladies . One who will give him everything he wants ,the other who likes to plays games . A game that we all know Jared will ultimately win. The scoundrel
The 3rd and final story of this book we see Jared performing at a gig where he unexpectedly meets up with an old teacher of his . After some flirtatious banter the teacher lets go of all of her inhibitions , leaving Jared with a self satisfied grin on his face and the teacher leaving him with a fondness she's always had .
Jake Malden has a fabulous gift with words . And this book shows you what this Irish Eroticist can do . Look forward to Reading more from this author.

The Jared Effect – Oh My, Oh My, it certainly left me affected!!
This is a going to hell in a hand basket collection of out and out erotica and if this is your cup of tea it will blow your socks off.
If it isn’t then please you have been warned!
Jake Malden, you are a very dangerous man, you are seriously not good for my health.
The stories are eclectic but they have one thing in common, they are spectacularly erotic. They leave little on the table – in fact they flip the damn table over and will leave you aghast!
I have to say that while Jared wasn’t a character that I thought I was going to like very much, I did find him intriguing. Despite the quirks and misogynistic attitude at times, he had a cheek and sass about him that I actually really took too and oh boy did he know how to get things nice and filthy!
For some this may be a step too far but for others it may be the step they never knew they needed to take.
Give it a try it is a short enough read that you all you are wasting is time and if it really is too much well you can always turn the kindle off but I bet you don’t!!

If you enjoy a hot erotic read then you are definitely going to really enjoy these three stories! All of Jared stories kept me interested from beginning to end, with some real strong characters and fast paced action. Jared is a bad boy traveler/rocker that you cannot help but like, a hot, sexy, full of charm and very dominate character.
Jake has an amazing talent of making you want more of Jared! There HAS to me more Jared!
Out of the three stories in the Jared affect I found it hard to pick a favourite and liked the way they cleverly linked together. ‘Jared hitches a ride’ was a girls road trip at its best and love the character “Red”. ’Jared’s roller coaster’ was just that, a roller coaster read and very well ended! ‘Jared teaches a lesson’ had a few omg moments and I wanted to slap him a few times!

Jared is a bad boy traveler/rocker that you cannot help but like, a hot, sexy, full of charm and very dominate character.
Jake has an amazing talent of making you want more of Jared! There HAS to me more Jared!
Out of the three stories in the Jared affect I found it hard to pick a favourite and liked the way they cleverly linked together. ‘Jared hitches a ride’ was a girls road trip at its best and love the character “Red”. ’Jared’s roller coaster’ was just that, a roller coaster read and very well ended! ‘Jared teaches a lesson’ had a few omg moments and I wanted to slap him a few times!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be recommending it to everyone, and will definitely be reading more of Jakes books!

The Jared Effect is a wild and steamy story about the life of a travelling playboy named Jared Morgan and the "effect" he has on the females he encounters.
I found Jared's ability to clearly read between the lines and understand the needs of the people he meets to be intriguing. He seems to perceive their desires even before they fully realize them and he wastes no time in fulfilling their cravings. Jared even learns a thing or two about himself along the way.
The story flows at a fairly rapid pass, but no detail is overlooked. The characters are revealed through the type of relationship Jared builds with them individually and much is learned about Jared this way as well.

For me, Jared Morgan started a little rough. I wasn't sure I would like him but I quickly came to realize that was his character. That was Jared. He's hard core. He's rough around the edges. What I didn't like about him made him into the unique character he was. What gentleness I thought he lacked actually made him into the character that I grew to love. Each story connected to the next which I liked. I love stories that connect with the characters. But each story made me warm up to Jared more and more. Jared is someone you love to hate. Or you'd love to experience. The author's POV is different from what I've read but different is good. I've experienced a new author whom I would like to read more from. I would recommend reading it but stick with it if you aren't sure. You will fall in love with Jared too.

This is 3 story's about Jake's sexual adventures. The first story he has 2 women one engaged and the other a "friend of her sisters". They have pretty raw and intense sex which is well written and hot. I liked this story the most of the three because of how he got her to admit something she didn't want to ....the truth about her fiancé.
The second wow that one was a tough one to handle. We have all had friends that were backstabbers but this took the cake. OUCH~!
The third I didn't care for at all only because I couldn't relate, never had a teacher that I wanted to bed.
I also didn't care for the "whore, slut" and demeaning of women.
The stories were greatly detailed and well written and that is the reason I was able to finish the book. I will try other books by this writer. But for following Jared not a fan.

This was my first Jake Malden book and I was definitely satisfied when I finished it.
Jared is a loveable rogue and even though at times you want to throat punch him, you can't help but fall in love with his antics.
What this man does with women while he's travelling from place to place can be shocking, it's also so hot that when you get to the last page, you wish you'd read the book slower or that there was a sequel on Amazon as you just NEED more of him(the good news is that there will be a sequel, The Jared Enigma, very soon)
I strongly advise everyone who likes a bit of a bad boy to buy this, you'll find yourself a life long member of #TeamJared..

I have fallen hopelessly in love, and crazily in lust with Jared Morgan, and in turn Jake Malden. This is such an erotic book, I had to read slowly so I didn't combust. I hated to love Jared, and loved to hate him. When I didn't want to punch him in the face, I wanted to jump into the pages and be his next 'victim'. Jake described every scene with incredible sensuality, and paid attention to the right details, leaving out what some erotic authors include to up the word count. There was no sugar-coating or smoke-blowing in this book, and is exactly why I loved it. A man who knows what he wants, isn't afraid to voice it, and demand it is a perfect man in my eyes. Highly recommended, I just couldn't get enough. I'll be returning to Jared again soon.

This is the first book I have read from this author but it most certainly won't be the last.
This story is about a super hot bloke travelling the world, playing his music and drawing. Oh yeah and fucking countless women. Jared shows the women exactly what they have been missing and boy oh boy, does he do it well. A book full of raw and intense sex without the love stuff. Completely different to what I have read lately and just what I needed. The book starts off hard and fast and it maintains this pace throughout. I couldnt put it down and I know I will be picking this up again and again. No HEA in this one but plenty of happy endings of the orgasm variety. ;)
By far the best book I have read this year. Irish Jake, I am hooked!

Ok wow! I had to put down this read at times just to cool off!! Jakes writing style is very unique. He demands attention in his writing and trust me you oblige. The story line was very interesting and clever. I love the characte Jake in this story. He is hot and not ashame in what he wants in bed. He goes after what he wants and proves himself well worth it. Libby is a staight kind of girl who really wants to open up and follow her sexual desires for Jake but she fights it. Follow the journey in her fight and enjoy the part when she finally falls. A must read!!!

Jared is basically just traveling, going where the wind blows and enjoying the women he finds on the journey. He's the prefect mix of laid back funny guy, bad boy and delicious tease.

This was a thrill to read, so naughty and badass! Throughout the whole book I was totally in awe of the experiences with Jared morgan. Moments where i was frequently blushing and a few silent "Oh My Gods' were included. Jake has done so well writing this book and is extreamly brave with the intense detail given during hot and sexy encounters with Jared, I loved it and would recommend to read as it is totally out there and very different. I dont think Erotica covers it.

Truthfully, there's really not all that much to review, unless you want a rundown on Jared's sexual antics/perversions. This bad boy rocker has a whole lot of kink bundled into that hot bod of his! I found the first story easiest to read, as the following two began taking twists my mind wasn't all that eager to encounter. That being said, all three were well written and even though they were short, each of Jared's playmates was a well developed character.

Okay where do I start with this book.It was so so good and hot very hot.I loved the adventures Jared takes you on and the characters are all great.
I went in blind not reading the blurb or anything and I was pleasantly surprised.
Jared is so arrogant I wanted to slap him even though I was secretly loving his self assuredness at the same time.

The Jared Effect is not a romance story in no way shape or form. If you are looking for some hot boom chicka wow wow then get this book. Jared gives the women he meets the feelings of being wanted, sexy, & self esteem, in a weird way. Don't get me wrong Jared is a man who you want to hate for his womanizing but can't because of what his encounter gives back. The Jared Effect IS NOT a HEA but three stories of how Jared meets women and because of him comes out a changed woman.

This book is sooooo hot. Loved this. I like romances but once in a while I read a book like this and it knocks me off my feet.
I have a slight aversion of male authors and I haven't read any for a few years now so I saw that this author in one of my female author friends and I looked his books up. They didn't look boring so I marked them for future reading. So glad Jake got me out of my opinion toward male authors. His work is amazing and I look forward to reading it more

This is not your average erotic romance novel with a HEA. Jared does not believe in romance. This book is three short stories all revolving around Jared Morgan. He’s a college dropout, who has become a guitar-carrying drifter. The three stories in this book chronicle a portion of his trip and the women he meets along the way. If you want hot and steamy without the romance then Jared is the man for you! Each short story was a fast read and all were scorching hot.

I give this 4 stars for one simple fact. It's a male author writing in a genre dominated by women...and he kinda keeps it real....Now..as for content...eh...it could have been better, but at least his character was consistent throughout. I would read another :)

A wicked, wicked read that is sure to please a lot of people ;) Jake Malden certainly knows how to excite and satisfy with this book. Love the moments where Jared does his civic duty and helps out damsels in distress and gets them to reach their full potential ;) A great read!
