I have the German version of this but it doesn't really make it any less interesting. The book is full of information about the history of piracy, the weapons, the ships and the most famous pirates of all time. It has all kinds of little extras, maps and documents, a real writing feather, a pirate dictionary, an actual Pirate flag and much, much more. It's a treasure you could pick up over and over again just to browse through and marvel at the creative way the whole project is presented with. It's touchable history with facts that you ought to know if you are a fan of the whole Pirate thing. Read it.
This was a lovely little picture book, chock full of interesting information and neat accessories, including a Jolly Roger flag. Though designed for children, it would be suitable for adults too due to the wealth of information it contains on pirates. For instance, until I read this I had no idea a pirate ship was such a democratic place. Highly recommended, especially for school libraries -- though the aforementioned accessories will be hard to keep track of.
