Celia Brian is a witch—and that’s not the worst of her problems.
She’s been in love with spell-catching Wraith warrior Jonas Grey her entire life. Sparring partner, friend, confidante—that’s all she expects from Jonas. Beautiful golden gods aren’t meant for mere mortals, even if she does entertain fantasies every once in a while.
After demons murder his wife, the only focus Jonas has is killing his enemies. He lost his Amorta, his soul mate, and doesn’t deserve to be interested in another woman, especially not his good friend and boss’s daughter.
When Celia unearths an ancient riddle that triggers a series of attempts on her life, Jonas’s protective instincts are roused. Bound by a prophecy that could grant their deepest desires or take their lives, Jonas and Celia engage in the age-old battle between good and evil, life and death, and male and female.
Celia’s a spell caster, Jonas a spell catcher. Opposites attract.
An avid reader of any and all genres since I could turn a page, I remember my parents rationing Hardy Boys and Black Stallion novels like most kids were rationed candy. Getting lost in a captivating, exhilarating story is my favorite way to spend time, whether reading or writing. Nothing is better than being drawn into a story so deeply you don't realize you're turning a page until you've reached the end, and the characters live on in your heart and mind long after the cover has been closed.
I currently live in the Pacific Northwest on an island with my husband and dogs.
FAIRY THOUGHTS Favorite Line(s) “I think you’re right, Jonas. What you feel is a gift. As a wise friend once told me, you’d be a fool to waste a second chance when you’re given one.”
“Don’t look now.” Jonas turned her in his arms to kiss her properly. “But I think we’ve got ourselves a family.”
All I can say is I WANT A WRAITH OF MY VERY OWN!! I loved Conor's story but, I have to say Jonas is my new favorite! He has been through so much already! To lose his wife his amorta with a son is just heartbreaking and who has been by his side the whole time Cee!! She has loved him since the first moment she saw him when she was 7 years old. When Jonas's wife died she took care of his son Raine and fell in love with that little boy. If only she could have Jonas love her too! While practicing a spell that could help a Wraith she's in heaven having Jonas arms around her! Jonas can't stop thinking about Cee, then he sees Cee with her ex Rory and he loses it,he can't understand when he fell for her but, he did and hard! Demons are out to get them because of a prophecy!! So much danger and drama. It was great to watch Jonas feel again! Cee is AMAZING!! This prophecy is going to change everything! I wpcant wait to see what this author comes up with next!!
I was given this book by author in exchange for an honest review
Jonas is a man who you don't want to mess with. This is also a man who has known heartache, sorrow and love. He was given the gift a love not once but twice. Will he take it? It is funny to see Jonas fumble with the jealousy he has. He is not sure how to handle it.
Celia is a powerful witch that has loved Jonas since they both were children and she watched him in the shadows when he came to her home. She knew then and later that she loved him and would love him for ever but thought she never would have it returned by him. She knows how much a Amorta means to a Wraith. And Jonas is a Wraith. There is only one in a life time and they love forever. She took care of his son Raine after Jonas wife died. She was always there for them both.
When Jonas fines out Cee's life is in danger he is determined to keep her safe and not let what happen to his wife happen to her. The more and more time they spend together, the more Jonas is drawn to Cee and sees her as more then just as friend. He hasn't felt anything for a women in four years. Seeing them grow closer and knowing that Jonas is feeling alive again because of Cee and only because of her, it makes you feel your part of it and you yell "GO FOR IT".
At first you hear what the prophecy is and your like oh this can not be happening... There has to be a way.
Will there love survive? What is going to happen next? How strong is Lucian going to be? Can Cee and Jonas work together or will the demons end their love before it begins?
I love Lucian and he is just a baby. You have to read this series. I can wait to see what happens next.
This story has love, sorrow, anger, demons, demon funk, laughter, and tears. But it is a story you don't want to put down. I loved Conor's story but I have to say so far this one is my favorite.
Taking the story to Jonas and his life offers an insight to alternatives of this story universe. I did like the development of the main characters and their evolution, but was left with unresolved story elements on Rory and the random drop of the spell building. Still looking forward to more though. 😃
Um! I've mulled and digested over the star rating for this book. I got this last year but never got round to reading it until now. I love, love, love the cover and along with the blurb I thought it sounded great.
I've decided to round up the rating but it took me a day to get there. It's not that it doesn't deserve a 4 star, it's, well read the review.
It starts of super good. Celia, a spell castor is attacked on her way to the Organization, by a demon. She thwarts that attempt and goes on her way. She is researching an ancient legend that so far is alluding her. So the story is sort of set, something is after Celia yet no one knows why.
Enter Jonas Grey, yummy delicious Jonas, he is a Wraith, an angel so to speak that is on Earth to fight demons. There are only 9 Wraiths and each are destined to love and marry one woman, their Amorta. Alas, poor Jonas's Amorta was brutally murdered 4 years ago and Jonas is a broken man.
Celia has loved Jonas all her life.
So we get the picture. I liked the story in general, it flowed, it had demon action and it had our hero tortuously denying he was falling in love with Celia, after all he had his one love. He'd failed to save her, he didn't deserve another chance. Did he?
That was the part of the story I loved the most, the way he wanted to protect her at all costs, he angry angst when she was in the presence of her former boyfriend Rory, his moody broodiness trying at all costs to resist his feelings to Celia. Got to admit I do love a little bit of love angst.
What I struggled with the most was the story seemed to repeat itself, and you are constantly being told why things were the way they were, why Jonas was how he was and Celia continuing to question whether or not he could truly love her. It was repetitive enough to become a little annoying and that's where I struggled with the star rating.
However, the story was good, the whole legend of them being together to produce a power so strong that the Demon King wanted Celia and Jonas dead was enough for me to keep reading. Then there was the sex, there was plenty of sizzling steam in this book. That's always going to keep me reading lol.
So over all it was a good read, if you like your Wraiths hot and moody, your spell castors lusting and lots and lots of wanting sex then this is the book for you. I also liked that Celia was a regular girl, she had lush curves and a proper body and Jonas went wild for her.
