Rate this book
Despite being a rising star in the BAU unit, FBI Special Agent Hailey Rock lives in the shadow of her older sister, a sheriff in their small Midwestern town, and their parents’ favorite. But when a series of bodies appear in mysterious crop circles in farm country, it is Hailey who is needed to solve the crime her sister cannot—and to catch a serial killer and save the next victim before he strikes again.
FOLLOWING YOU is book #6 in a long-anticipated new series by #1 bestseller Rylie Dark, whose bestseller SEE HER RUN (a free download) has received over 700 five star ratings and reviews.

An abandoned house, considered by locals to be haunted, becomes a crime scene. Hailey used to avoid this house growing up, and now she remembers why. The place would be eerie, even without the body. The suspect must be a local, given the history of the place, but who?

Can Hailey face her hometown ghosts to uncover the truth?

A cat-and-mouse thriller with harrowing twists and turns and filled with heart-pounding suspense, the HAILEY ROCK mystery series offers a fresh twist on the genre as it introduces two brilliant protagonists who will make you fall in love and keep you turning pages late into the night.

My least favorite of this series so far. It was very odd at times, and the storyline did not feel like it was moving much. I do not recommend the audio version of this, as the story is in the US but the narrator is British, so there are some issues with dialect. In the storyline, 9-1-1 was dialed, and the narrator read it outloud as "Nine hundred eleven, what's your emergency?". 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️

Sigh, I am trying so hard to love this series but I am really only sticking with it to find out what happened to Mindy. The UFO-Crop Circles just wasn't for me. Finally she gets together with Graham. There is also a tiny bit of Mindy information finally coming to light. There were less typos but still way more than what I consider acceptable for a published novel.

I didn't feel this book was as suspenseful as the others. Still loved reading though. I'm curious how the rest of the series will go. You can only have so many murders in a small town before it starts to lose it's appeal.

.. But Hailey + Vance!! Love!

This series is addictive, the characters are interesting but like all humans are flawed and not always professional in their actions. Best read these in order, the stories build on each other especially the relationships between the characters.

Please get a new editor

I enjoy the series, the plots are good. Please get a new editor though. Every book has so many typos in it and it takes away from the reading quality.

Wow this one was pretty good, a refreshing change of writing style. Still don't like the reveals throughout the book, but I'm learning to embrace them. Also can we please get a female perp!!

I love the suspense of each book. Never totally revealing the killer or motive until the end. My only negative is the narrator is not right. Mispronouncing basic words.

Tired of the fight between Hailey and her sister. It feels so immature. The storyline was stupid. Didn’t like this one at all, think this is my last one!

Hailey and her partner are still in her home town working on yet another case but this time we’re getting crop circles. The serial killer is piggybacking on a guy trying to create crop circles. Killer keeps displacing his kills within the circles. Yet another clue to her younger sister’s disappearance years earlier.

Following You is the sixth book in the Hailey Rock FBI series, and it keeps the familiar formula- a tense murder investigation with a strong psychological undercurrent. Hailey returns to her small hometown, where the case — bodies placed in crop circles — forces her to dig into old family wounds, including her sister’s disappearance. The pacing is tight, and the tension doesn’t let up. If you like fast-moving plots with creepy rural settings, this hits the mark. Hailey is written with enough emotional complexity to feel real, and the strained family dynamic gives the story more weight than a typical procedural. The atmosphere — isolated farms, ominous crop circles — does a lot of work in building dread. The editing is sloppy in places (typos, awkward phrasing), which can break immersion. For a book that leans on twists, some of them feel telegraphed. At book six, the small-town murder premise is starting to feel a little stretched. If you’ve been following the series, you’ll enjoy this one for the character work and the suspense. If you’re new, it’s fine as a standalone, but you’ll get more out of it if you’ve read the earlier books. Just expect a few rough edges and some familiar beats.
