This review is from: Ascend (The Vampire Destiny Series Book #4) (Kindle Edition)
I know I am in the minority with the way I feel about this story, but I was very very disappointed!! Ascend picks up were we left off in bk3. Josephine's body is under going the transformation. I thought I was reading the end of Breaking Dawn part 1 when Bella's body was under going her transformation. When Josephine wakes up after the transformation is complete I felt like I was reading the scene from Breaking Dawn part 2 when Bella woke up. I wanted to ask whats going on here in this story. Didn't anyone else recognize the similarities? I also don't like the foreign language or Stefans native tongue that is used so much through out the books. I don't speak or read that language. I paid to read the story in English. Its alright to write loving words in another language; its even romantic but please translate so I will know what I just read!!! Their is lots and lots of Hot Repetitive sex scene and very little story line. I am sorry but I just didn't like Ascend!!

Alexandra Anthony never stops amazing me with her outrageous writing skills. Her characters are so true to form, well thought out, unbridled in their amazing passion. This is why Stefan has been book boyfriend since the beginning, he is raw with sex, unwavering in loyalty, stronger than any woman could hope for, his heart is pure and you can't help but be attracked to his described Nordic God good looks. Every woman should envy Josie's man and every man should aspire to be half as amazing to get their amazing Josie. This book is by no means ment for some to read without the knowledge that you will be turned on, will crave more and want your own personal Sexy Stefan Lifsten! I will not spoil the story line, so just buy your copy, read it ladies and gentlemen, drool for more and then start over again with book one, and read them all again! Thank you Alexandra for yetanother amazing read, another small glimpse into Josie and Stefans lives and leaving us teased, wanting and panting for more!

I feel as if I was “Fated” to read and follow the Vampire Destiny series by Alexandra Anthony. Was it an “Illusion”? “No”, I had an “Awakening when I fell in love with Stephan and Josie and the cast of characters in this series. I just finished Ascend and am not quite sure if I ascended to heaven or descended to hell. Alexandra makes things so suspenseful, romantic and crazy sexy!

Seriously, you should check out the series. You will miss much if you don’t start from book one.
These books are gripping and erotic and so very romantic and exciting.
I love this series!

While I'm disappointed there isn't another book, I'm also glad, because the 4 books should have been only 1 and there is so much missing in them, they are rushed, sloppy. I'm not surprised that the fifth book haven't been published or even written...

Unfortunately it resembles Twilight - Breaking Dawn, albeit an adult version. The development of the plot was sorely lacking in lieu of sex-capades.

Alexandra Anthony has done it again. Ascend is the best book yet in the Vampire Destiny Series.
Okay, without being a spoiler.....
Josephine and Stefan are a mated couple, destined to be together and he waited 1000 years to finally find her........
Now they are trying to learn more about her past like who she REALLY is, her history and why she she dreams of her Mother showing her a time when she knew Stefan before he was a vampire. All the while, trying to elude her evil father who wants nothing better than to capture her and kill her mate.
Alexandra is an eloquent writer, she captures your attention from the first paragraph. In this book Josie and Stefan's unbridled love for each other is mesmerizing, it literally took my breath away and gave me goose bumps. It is erotic without being dirty or crass. You find yourself wanting to be Josie or at least wanting to be loved and love so passionately.
There are also twists and turns that you do not see coming. I found myself cussing out loud during one part (pissed at a character in the book). However, I still could not put it down and when I did a dreamed of Josie and Stefan and what they are going through. I think I will read it again or even start the whole series again because I'm already growing impatient for the 5th book. (I'm also looking forward to the 2nd book in her Dark Hart Chronicles).

So... In Closing.... If you are look for books written with intense descriptions without being boring, passion without being cheesy, erotica without being dirty, suspense without being unbelievable...... THEN READ THESE BOOKS and anything Alexandra Anthony writes. You WILL NOT be disappointed!!!!!

Each book is better then the next.Vampire stories will always be my first love of reading.Alexandra has taking us on an amazing journey with Josie and Stefan.I love these 2 together, and could nottt handle them ever being seperated. The story line never disappoints. It just keeps getting better and better.Throwing in all the hot and heavy sex scenes..OMg she can write one hell of a bedroom scene.Im so looking forward to more on this series as well as reading Stefans jornels.Im so worried for them about these memories they have but are missing pieces. With out Stefan and Josies love in each of these books my heart would feal empty.Im looking forward to each book till the end when they have there happy ever after for eternity.

I have to say that I am fairly surprised with this one. The third book in the series to me was anticlimatic. it was very predictable and the whole I love stefan thing and how gorgeous he was in pretty much every chapter was a bit hard to read through. but besides how amazing stefan looked and how much she loved him it was a great book. This one I believe blew the 3rd on out of the water. so much more is going on and as she learns her new strengths as a vampire and whar she truly is we get unexpected twists I loved it. And that ending oh man. I had a feeling it was going to be like that but not like that! I am looking forward to another great addition with the way this book had went. great job Alexandra!

Really Good Series.....

Alexandra Anthony has does a really good job with this series. It had been a few months since I read #3 but within the first two chapters there was enough cohesion for me to clearly recall the events in the last book and quickly move forward into #4. The plot is playing out beautifully and growing in reasonable stretches so it keeps you guessing what's next, and often what's next is a surprise that fits perfectly with the events on the table at the time. The storyline is incredibly strong and I would recommend you read them in order if you decide to. I'm looking forward to #5.

I love this series and this installment did not disappoint! As the steamy love affair of Josie and Stefan continues to grow to new depths as she becomes fully vampire and the memory of their hidden past comes to light so does fear and danger as her evil father and his minions take extreme steps in trying to reunite the family once again. How many more unknown siblings will show up? Will they have "special abilities" as well? An army could be in the making but will they lean towards the light or the dark side?? A surprise ending has me yearning for book 5 already!

I'm overall disappointed that this story did not move further along and I really hate the cliffhanger. I know it is erotic paranormal romance but there should be more telling of the story. Not just sex and "our bond this... and our bond that". It got annoying. I really loved the first two books in this series, but the last two I didn't like much at all. The story is just dragging out too long. Write one long book and be done. At least not more than three to complete a story. Anyway... that's my opinion. I don't know if I'll read the next one.

Since there was a gap in time since I read the first three books, I decided to re-read the series from the beginning. It made for an easier read and a nice transition into each new book. I was also able to pick up on certain things that I obviously skimmed over or missed because it was 3am and I struggled to keep my eyes open to finish a chapter lol! Anyway, WoW! This story keeps getting better and better! I hope to god Ms. Anthony never runs out of story line for these characters! Patiently waiting for the next book!

Book #4 starts with Josephine going through the change to become a vampire. Once through the change Stefan helped her with her thirst. She wants to go to her uncle's house and search his things for his journal. She is hoping for answers about her parentage. They find the journal and it is in a language they don't know. Her uncle left instructions on who to contact to help with the translation. He not only helps, but introduces them to Josephine's 1/2 brother. The book ends with Kian (Josephine's vampire dad) telling them that Josephine's friend Georgia is now expecting his child.

This book picks up where book 3 left off and Josephine is still going through her change. The love between her and Stefan is even stronger and she finds out more about what she truly is. I love the bond between the two of them.

Her father is still trying to kill them and someone that was once a friend is now a traitor and she meets another member of her family that she didn't know existed.

Oh and the love scenes in this book are very HOT just like the other books! Five stars

Although I love this series, I have to agree with one other reviewer who thought there was too much filler and not enough story line. Don't get me wrong I love steamy but this time steamy overshadowed the story line which when allowed to show through really does keep getting better and better.

For me this is more a 3.5 stars

Captivating!

I was completely consumed by this edition. I found myself not able to stop reading. It was very easy to become captivated. It was to the point where I could visualize the scenes in my head as I continued reading. I would highly recommend!

I really love this series. It has great a very good plot and story line, and the chemistry between Stepf and Josie is great. Dang it Why can't my destiny come along like that. Now Im waiting to find out what happens now that Kian has married Georgia, most probably a plot on his part.
