Always a romantic, Patti Berg spent her childhood dreaming about being whisked away by a knight in shining armor, a devil-may-care swashbuckler, s sheik on a shiny black stallion, or a broad-shouldered cowboy with a Stetson tilted low on his brow. Now she spends her days making up stories where her heroes do whatever she wants them to. Patti lives in Northern California with her husband, Rob.
Beverly is still running for mayor and Jeff is still traveling all the time leaving her to wonder if they are breaking up. Diane’s daughter comes for a visit but Diane has a dr appt and her cancer is back. I don’t like the direction this story is going, these are supposed to light hearted uplifting books. Shelley is shocked when her sister drops her 9 year old daughter to live with Shelley without much warning. Shelly has also started her 4 year old in preschool. The book goes over the top with her being upset about it and feeling like she is abandoning him. This seemed like a little much. Margaret agrees to teach 8 one hour art classes to middle schoolers and it totally wears her out.
I enjoyed this book very much. Always something interesting happening. If you are looking for a good cozy mystery series that has more to offer than some others, I recommend this series.
