In the gripping second installment of "The Force of Magic" trilogy, "The Frailty of Hope," Perin and Trace find themselves thrust into a world fraught with peril and uncertainty. Armed with newfound magical powers granted by the enigmatic Elixir of Life, they embark on a treacherous journey, determined to overthrow the tyrannical Dominion and dismantle the oppressive reign of the Guild of the Helm.
As the duo traverses the war-torn landscapes, they encounter a diverse group of brave souls who have also suffered under the iron fist of oppression. Together, they form a formidable resistance, each wielding their unique abilities to push back against the darkness that threatens to consume their realm.
But the path ahead is riddled with challenges and heartache. The Dominion's malevolent forces doggedly pursue the burgeoning rebellion, employing ruthless tactics to quell any glimmer of hope. With danger lurking at every turn, doubts begin to emerge within the group, and the weight of their burden threatens to fracture their unity.

As the relentless struggle against oppression reaches its crescendo, Perin and Trace must navigate treacherous waters of doubt and despair, discovering that even the mightiest of magic has its limits.
Will their fragile hope be enough to ignite the spark of revolution, or will the Dominion's dark grip tighten, extinguishing the flame of freedom forever? Find out in this riveting chapter of "The Force of Magic" trilogy, where the battle for justice and liberty pushes our heroes to the brink, testing their mettle and proving that even in the face of overwhelming odds, the Force of Magic is a power that can shape destinies and change the world.
As a lifelong lover of books, I’ve always had a great appreciation for writers and their craft. Over the course of my 50+ years living in different places around the world, I’ve written a few things, but never took the time to sit and try to write down any of the books I’ve dreamed up. In 2021 that changed. A new opportunity to share stories, one episode at a time, prompted me to try my hand at it.
I never could have imagined the positive response my writing received and now I’m happy to expand those stories to a wider audience to build upon what I’ve already written. Nothing would make me happier than to know that you enjoy my stories. Please find me on social media @HunterCAuthor to send me your feedback.
About me: I grew up in the Midwest and went to a big state school known as much for their football team as anything else. I studied English Literature and History. It was there that I met my wife and we fell in love. We were married when I was in graduate school and during our first few years working after graduation, God showed us the opportunities to be involved in His work around the world.
Since 2000, we’ve lived outside of the United States, having many amazing experiences and meeting people from around the globe. My experiences traveling and my background in counseling are highly influential in my writing.
In this basically dystopian, but multilayered, fantasy magic stands in for transhumanist "science": Most people who are forced to swallow "the Elixir" don't survive; the ones who do are traumatized, but they have magical powers. A small band of unlikely heroes, including warriors who fight both physical and magical battles, a woman who raises magical plants, and a little girl who can dissolve and reform her physical body at will, are trying to resist "the Brotherhood" who are continuing to experiment by making people drink "the Elixir."
Book two of three is a longish read with a classical fantasy adventure plot. Chapters are introduced by quotations from the Bible but the quotations describe the physical movement of the characters. That their characters are also developing through making moral decisions is not reliably predicted by the chapter epigrams, though it's fun to look for correlations between the adventures of Bible characters and the adventures of these fictional characters.
Highly recommended! This original and exciting fantasy book is very pleasant to read. The chapters are short and you always read the events from the perspective of various people. It is the second part of a series about a world with magic. I am very curious about the sequel. I got this book for free to write a review about it.
This series is absolutely fantastic. It is well written and has an excellent plot. The author does a masterful job at character development to where you very quickly come to know and like the characters. Highly recommend this series to any fantasy-lovers.
