Reaper Lana Harvey is finding out the hard way. When Grim's new second in command, Jenni Fang, recruits her for a special mission, the biggest victory over the rebels is tainted by a crushing and immediate reprisal. The rebels have a new general working in the shadows of Limbo City, luring gods, reapers, demons, and souls to the dark side.
The Afterlife Council’s orders to locate the new rebel base are overshadowed by a desperate and mysterious plea from Grim to find the abducted Greek god of sleep, Hypnos. Where Lana and Jenni find one, they hope to find the other. But some discoveries have a way of bringing one to their knees.
USA Today bestselling author Angela Roquet is a delightfully macabre weirdo. She lives in Missouri with her irresistible BFF husband, their sweet, clever son, and a majestic marshmallow of a Great Pyrenees in a house stuffed with books, toys, skulls, owls, and glitter-speckled craft supplies.
Angela is a member of the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers Association, as well as the Four Horsemen of the Bookocalypse, her epic book critique group, where she’s known as Death. When not swearing at the keyboard, she enjoys playing with her family and reading books that raise eyebrows.

Ughhh this book was a doozy and pulled at all the strings. Bub, Josie, why????? Poor Lana cannot catch a break. This is a fun series and I’m back for a visit with Lana, Jenni, Jack, Bub, Grim (what’s up with him?) and the rest.
I'm a horrible reviewer. I'm selfish and I just rate and run.
With that being said, this is by far my favorite Lana Harvey book. OMG, I couldn't see anything coming. I'm so glad that the first book was a freebie on amazon months ago, otherwise I don't know if I ever would have heard of this awesome series.
My heart broke a few times in this book. It was action packed and fast paced and I cruised through this book in 4 hours (which is saying a lot as I have 3 kids).
I was happy to see more of Jack, that demon has a soft spot in my heart. I love Bub, but missed his absence in this book. As well as cranky Meng.
I can't wait for the 5th book. Again with the selfishness, I hope there is more than 5 books in the series, I could live in this world forever.
Man I love this series. Its irreverent and fantastical and borderline silly but it works. I love Lana’s wit and snark and her crew of found family. Bub is my favorite.
This was a sad one- definitely didn’t see the heartbreak coming.
If you’re looking for award winning, thought provoking literature, this isn’t it. If you’re looking for an entertaining action packed paranormal fantasy, you’ll love this series.
Psychopomp, the 4th installment of Angela Roquet's Reaper series did not bring me to my knees... it reached into my chest, ripped out my beating heart and showed it to me.
Rebel attacks may not be considered a full fledged war, but things are heating up in Limbo City and across all of Eternity as Lana Harvey juggles numerous chainsaws, any of which could cut off her head at a moment's notice. Lists help me in this life, so I'm going to assume they're just as good in the afterlife. Lana is dealing with: 1) being Captain of the Posy Unity (mass soul collections in the mortal realm); 2) her very existence violates the rules of Limbo City; 3) she's still needing to hunt for potential Throne souls; 4) she's being assigned to special ops that all seem suicidal; 5) she has an apprentice she barely has time for and her friends seem to constantly be pissed at her; and 6) her lover may be in league with the very enemies she is fighting against. I'm probably missing a few things but you'll find out soon enough.
To get the full effect of Eternity, be sure to read Graveyard Shift, Pocket Full of Posies, and For the Birds. Roquet keeps a quick pace and Lana's wit will keep you holding on for more. October can't get here soon enough for me. The current scheduled release date for Death Wish is Oct. 6th. Until then,
Happy Reading!
****SPOILER BELOW*****
PS. To tide you over until Death Wish, and if you were like me and needing more time to mourn Bubs and Josie, be sure to read Roquet's short story in Badass and the Beast: 10 "Tails" about Kickass Heroines and the Beasts Who Love Them, entitled "Hair of the Hellhound". The story takes place right after the events of Psychopomp, so for those who felt it ended too quickly, here's your opportunity to linger in Eternity a bit longer.
OMG! I saw it coming. I saw it coming and I knew what would happen with Bub. I knew it and I was still shocked and broken-hearted. I mean, you know what will happen. You see the wave of the tsunami coming your way. You know the shit's about to hit the fan. But you don't fully comprehend what it implies until the tsunami drowns you and the shit hits you straight in your face. I still don't understand what happened with that woman Bub tried to save, and I still question Bub's love for Lana. Who knows. Angela Roquet knows. And she better hurry and write the next book!!!!! Before I go freaking crazy. I've read too many unfinished series, and I have been binging in terrible books trying to fill that emptiness in my chest. Not working. So f*****g hurry!
This book is my favorite Lana book so far! I’ve been a fan of Roquet for awhile now, thought her writing good, but this book absolutely slayed me! The emotional energy in several of her scenes (I won’t give away spoilers, but let’s just say there’s some awesome fight scenes, a super tragic sex scene, and a death scene that broke my heart) was just amazing. I think it is pretty clear that Roquet’s writing is just getting better and better and I’m so glad I stuck with the series!
There is also some good development in characters that were mentioned/used before but didn’t get much screen time (I love Jack, the demon butler!) and I’m happy that Gabriel got a little bit of screen time, even though he’s all upstanding now. ;)
Lana wishes that all she has to deal with is Psychopomp but sadly this is not what is allowed. Bad things happen to Lana in this book but all is not lost. At the moment I can't get enough of Lana and her friends and Grim is just that, Grim. Great enjoyable reading that I would recommend.
this series gets better and better! but first off....WTF Bub! and then Josie!!!!! NO! this book was action packed from the beginning to the very end! Winston is an ass who is only worried about himself and Gabe is starting to be the shoulder Lana always used to have. I hope we don't lose Kevin after all of this change. and im still hoping the next one puts Bub in a better light, can't seem to shake the demon prince :-)
As an avid reader of this series I couldn't wait for the fourth installment to come out and I must say that Psychopomp is one fantastic book. Angela Roquet has gone darker and more philosophical and I love it. Lana and the rest of the cast have grown to new levels, and I now I can't wait to read what happens next.
Oh Man was that a ripper of a story. I was getting cranky when I had to put it down! I thought the previous book was the better of the books in this series..... Mm I was wrong! I was wide eyed and cried . Well done! The only negative I have is spelling some of the and missing words in parts of the book. Can't wait to read the next one!
I really like this series. I like that each book has it's own story instead of just setting up the next one. I like that charcters react in realistic ways and that ramifications are truly explored. I thought the twist at the end was predicatable, but that's okay.
Still very much enjoying this series. This one had more things to pull at my emotions than previous books- some were expected, others not. If you enjoyed books 1-3, you should enjoy this one as well.
Wow!! I was not expecting what happened in this book. I love this series about Lana. This book did not disappoint. It was a bit darker than the previous books but it was needed.
This one is really sad, one of the gang nearly dies and then the second time actually does. Joise is mad at Lana for leaving her out when she gets special assignments, Jenni is still hopping mad about being kidnapped and tortured. The gang while living together drift apart a lot and Gabriel splits with his girlfriend as well, ending up on the heaven politics board. Lana has a lot to deal with and then there is the big betrayal, but she still holds out hope that actually it's a double bluff. One in which her friend dies, which she seems willing to let go. She manages to kill some demons and watches as Grim ends the life of a reaper by undoing as well. He is subtly threatening her, but needs her help when his brother gets kidnapped. It's a great story. On to the next, I am lucky the series is complete so I get to find out what happens next quickly.
The pace really picks up in Psychopomp. Much more action but the background drama is there all the same.
- Lana's romantic life continues to be eventful and occasionally violent.
- Some of the events of this book were very predictable but still gave me an emotional punch in the stomach. If the last book ended happily, this takes that happiness and prizes its atoms apart with tweezers.
- We learn new things about the deities and especially some interesting background on Grim, though I wish that had been explored further.
- I took off half a star for "released a breath I didn't know I was holding". I can't stand that seriously clichéd and nonsensical phrase.
Things are hitting up in Limbo and I'm eager to see what Death Wish has to offer next.
I enjoyed this series of books. I believe I originally found the author and the 1st book in the series on an email that I receive but I am not positive. The protagonist in the story is Lana Harvey who is a Reaper -- beings in a celestial world that work for Grim (aka The Grim Reaper) and help him harvest souls. Evidently as humanity's population exploded so too did the amount of souls that needed to be gathered and Grim couldn't do it by himself. ANYWAY Lana occasionally butts head with Grim and lands in hot water.
I found these books clever and funny and I would recommend them to any sci-fi fan.
I got this book as part of the "Found in Limbo" collection which covers the last 4 books in the series. This review has been repeated for the individual books so that whichever route a reader takes, the review can be seen.
In this book Lana Harvey finds herself working on special missions for both Jenni Fang and Grim. This leads her to having to keep secrets from her close friends, which in turn causes divisions between them. This was another very good book in the series and an exciting read.
I discovered the series by mistake and I have to say I really like, especially the different spin on the paranormal genre. I would recommend to read the series in order since it is a continuing storyline. I like the characters and storyline and I can't wait to see what will happen next. The nice thing when you discover a Series late is that there is not waiting time between books.
This book like the ones before we’re just dripping with wonderful action & daring escapes. I’ve now read the first 4 books & look forward to reading the rest. & away I goooooo! For the greater good!
Story flowed nicely with a perfect amount of action to keep it moving. My only complaint was that it wasn't long enough. Thoroughly enjoyed the book despite the unhappy ending.... though hopefully this will be resolved in the next book of the series.
My only critique is that agnostics are thrown into the sea along with atheists. I feel like agnostics would land in Limbo, since they were never in denial of the existence of gods and Limbo is legit defined as ‘uncertainty’
A lot more changed in this book than the others. Some of it was predictable, and there was definitely a lot of self pity, but still developing well. Looking forward to more.
