London 1891

Two boys meet in a foggy, darkened alleyway in London. Poised to fight, they recognise a quality in each other that stays their hands: they’re different. Not human. Well, not entirely, anyway. The universe, God, Kismet…something brought them together, forged a bond between them as strong as brothers’, and even they know it has to be for a reason.

London Present Day

Daniel and Kayden are cut from the same cloth. Their lives, their histories are so intertwined and tangled together that the last fifty years they’ve been at each other’s throats have seemed like an eternity. For Kayden, it’s been a punishment. For Daniel, a painful burden.
Now that circumstances have drawn them back to London once more, repairing the bridges they’d once burned to the ground is taking time. Time they don’t have.
Farley Hope is used to things going wrong. Epically wrong. A dead mother; a half-brother who recently went on a killing spree and refuses to come out of his room; a friend whose body has been hijacked by a malevolent, powerful being…
All of that would be bad enough, but considering her brooding boyfriend hasn’t brought up the fact that she agreed to marry him in weeks…her run of bad luck is really starting to take its toll. Things had better start looking up, otherwise her new-found powers are going to be put to use, and there’s no guaranteeing what will be getting blown up.

This is where it all began.
Where chance meetings set an unstoppable
chain of events in motion.
How a prophecy came to be realised.
How Lost Hope was found.

Ever go into a book thinking it was the last in the series, not wanting it to end, only to realize it isn't? Yeah, that just happened to me. For whatever reason I thought this was the final Hope book and I was equally excited and sad about that. I'm not ready to leave these crazy wonderful characters behind, luckily I don't have to!

There is a lot to love in this book for all the Hope series fans out there. Mostly, Kayden. It really feels like his book. Rose delivers a huge dose of his background, most notably - his early relationship with Daniel. This is what I loved the most about Lost Hope.

With a previously cold and distant yet intriguing relationship between the two, it was amazing seeing them in the past when they were so so close. It gives an almost nostalgic feeling, which is pretty amazing considering it's the first time we've glimpsed it. But that's how I felt. Giddy (I don't do giddy normally) and nostalgic. Each flash back with them interacting brought a huge smile to my face. Well, all but one...that one brought tears to my eyes.

All you Kayden fans out there will love his larger role. You Daniel fans won't be disappointed though either. His angsty face is still there and his tender moments still salted in.

Lost Hope delivers the same formula as the previous title in the series; action, emotion, humor and some true coming of age moments. It's those moments that give the story such great balance. In a fantastical series of events, the characters learn real life lessons and always grow from them.

As always, I'm looking forward to going wherever Frankie Rose leads me next.

Three and a half stars rounded to four. Overall I still enjoyed this book, there are some really interesting concepts at play, but there were some odd choices too. Going from alternating close 3rd POV in the previous two books in the series to an alternating 1st was a little jarring, especially having come to the book straight after finishing book 2. I enjoyed the greater depth to Kayden and even to a large degree Daniel, but I wasn't overly fussed on spending so much time in the past, especially when it wasn't really affecting any of the outcomes in the present. It was like there were two stories being told consecutively that never really fully converged. Even though it helped add depth to the character, there wasn't really anything that we learned that we didn't already know . I wonder whether the history part of it would have been better served as a separate prequel book to allow more room for the current story of Daniel and Farley to play out to completion a little more in this story. I'll still follow on with the next book in the series, but I'm definitely looking forward to Kit and Ryka's next instalment far more.

I was lucky enough to read a very early copy of Lost Hope, and I absolutely adored it. Reading Lost Hope was like coming home to old friends. It picks up where Eternal Hope left off, with the group now in London. Whilst there, Farley begins to understand more about those she cares about, especially Daniel and Kayden. I loved how Rose has created a dual storyline with the past and present intertwining. I never once felt out of place, and it slowly reveals more about Daniel and Kayden, and how their characters have grown and been dragged apart throughout the years. They share a tragic past and it really pulled at my heartstrings. I love Daniels character but as I read each book, Kayden continues to worm his charming, flirty, damaged self into my heart. Farley’s character continues to develop, and I always admire her strength and her belief that she can save all her friends, no matter what. The action in Lost Hope intensifies and there’s plenty of twists and turns to keep you glued to your seat, and a rather epic ending will have you hugging your copy to your chest. I know this review is short, but if I say too much more it will give away too much, but I have to say you won’t be disappointed in the third book of the Hope series. Frankie! I need the next book now!

I received an early copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Another amazing follow up to an extraordinary series! Lost Hope continues the story of Farley, Daniel and Kayden. What an action filled ride! This book is told with two storylines that intercect; The past and the present. Each one takes you deeper into the lives of Daniel and Kayden and what brought them together and ultimately, can tear them apart. Farley's adventures with this group hypes up as she discovers things about her friends and the people she loves are far more complicated and dangerous than she ever thought possible. I admire her for her strength, and her growth in determination to keep everyone alive. The twists keep coming, the action is unrelenting and the emotions will throw you on a wild ride through the supernatural world. Awesome follow up, and I'm already craving the next book in the series!

Seriously a must read, highly imaginative series!

Did not really like the ending. It just stopped. Like there should have been at least another chapter. I had to check twice that i hadnt skipped something. I didnt. It just wasnt there. It is one thing to leave things open ended. This just stopped. There were too many threads left laying limp.

Would they find Kayden? Did Saxon stop the Emissary? Who was the Emissary? Why was it evil? What was Saxon? What happened after they saved Kayden? What about the rest of the Reavers? Nothing about the main plot was concluded. Like, the whole prophecy wasn't actually fulfilled in any explicit or concrete way. The prophecy that is the point of the book.

I had given it four stars but i just talked myself down to three.

And while it was kind of interesting to see things from the past, it never tied together with the prophecy or the end of the Reavers. Wtf.

I Liked this book but thought it would of been better as 2 books with the history section in a novella or two.

While I don't mind the preface going back in time it felt that the author had written the back story for the different characters and then seemed to add these in at odd times throughout the book occasionally it made sense but otherwise I felt it broke up the main story too much. The main story could of then be extended to include the other main and minor characters who were almost forgotten about except in passing.

I really wish I understood the ending. I don't get what to make of it. I loved (and always have) the characters. Daniele definitely my most fav in the book, though Kayden grew on me as well and of course Farley. Ms Frankie had consistency in the characters thru out the series. You could actually predict how each one of them is going to react.

Anyway I really really wish I understood what that ending meant...it left me with more questions than answers. Is there going to be another book?

I've really enjoyed this series so far. Seeing Daniel, Kayden, and (most of all) Farley grow and mature, throughout the series, has been an absolute treat. I really loved the chapters in which we got to jump back in time and re-live some of the pivotal experiences that we have heard about in books 1and 2. The twists and turns in Lost Hope are fabulous and I think we are in for even more excitement in the next book, if that is even possible. I can't wait to find out!

I love how the story continues. I'm looking forward to the last book. One thing I didn't like is that this book is written in first person (each chapter is from the point of view of one of the characters), and it was distracting for me cause some times I couldn't remember which character I was reading about.

Frankie Rose has done a wonderful job on her latest book.

It moved along at a great pace, from beginning to end, has characters that you cannot help but fall in love with and a story that will keep you interested and entertained from beginning to end.

Once I started reading I could not put it down. This is definitely a must read for 2014.

I thought this book was kinda a let down after reading the other books in the series. I didn't like the flash backs at all for one, they didn't smoothly transition with the rest of the book. Overall, I still love the characters and the interesting concept at play with the plot. :)

I loved it. It took me a long time to find out there was a third one but wasn't disappointing. The flashbacks dragged on and could've done without. But it is so amazing! Doesn't disappoint if you like the first two.

I didn't enjoy this book as much as the others in this series. The story was very confusing as it kept on switching between past and present... The ending was good though!
