Secuestraron a mi esposa y a mi bebé.
Nicole Fox writes smart, sexy mafia romance novels. She is a crazy cat lady in her late 30s with a coffee addiction, an overactive imagination, and a husband who somehow puts up with her impulsive need to keep buying new plants for their house.
This was book 2 in the "Volkov Bratva". This book picks up where book one left of Eve and her baby are kidnapped and Luka will do anything to get his family back. This was a good read it was full of action. Luka and Eve go up against the Cartel and human trafficking she was kidnapped by a FBI agent who has tied to the Irish mob Rian Morrison is the sister of Eve's ex. Eve rises to become the Queen that she is and that Luka needs by his side. This book had a lot of action and a lot of twist and turns in it. While being held for sale Eve meets some of the woman who will be sold with her. Eve was determined to get her baby back. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I love reading this authors books.
Dark , gritty and steamy. Meet the Volkov Mafia Don and his wife Eve. For a second book it’s good and keeps you in the story brilliantly. A few places it lost me and I had to backtrack, but on the whole very good.
"The night is darkest just before the dawn." Cheesy? Maybe. True? Most definitely.
This book was hard for me to write. It started in such a dark place, and even though I could picture clearly how Luka and Eve would ride off into the sunset, I just couldn't figure out how that was ever going to happen.
So I did exactly what Luka does in Broken Hope: I took things one step at a time. One minute, one day at a time. Don't look ahead. Eyes on your own paper. "You never see further than your own headlights, but you can make the whole drive that way." Alongside Luka, I plunged myself into the very heart of darkness, armed only with love, and together fought against some of the cruelest humans I could imagine.
It almost worked.
But sometimes, even our best is not good enough. That is why we have partners - to pick us up when it seems we just can't go any farther. It hit me like a ton of bricks - Eve is the hero in this story. Her strength, her fire, her tenacity are all traits that I value in others and strive to embody myself. When it seems like there is no light at the tunnel - when it seems that all their hopes are broken - she has the willpower to keep taking one step, one step, one more step.
This is a story of triumph, and willpower, and trust. It came from the very depths of my soul. I hope you enjoy this book as much as I enjoyed writing it. And I hope , just like Luka and Eve did for me, for Broken Hope to encourage you to look inside yourself and realize: you are much, much stronger than you think.
Nicole Fox is amazing and she can sure write awesome mafia books. Eve is such a bad ass but we already knew that to handle Luka. I read both books back to back. I loved it!
Just when I thought the first book couldn’t get any better, this one comes around. I was actually blown away by everything that was happening. It was like you were in Eves shoes. There were times I had to tell myself to breathe because I was so shook. It was not a disappointing read at all and I highly recommend this sequel.
Ok so in Broken Vows we were left with an epic of a cliffhanger and now that I’ve read the very anticipated sequel...all I can say is HOLY ****!!!! Nicole Fox definitely has the gift of the pen with Broken Hope. My heart was shattered when Luka literally secluded himself searching for Eve and Milaya. Loved Eve’s strength through all of the obstacles that stood in her way of trying to get her family back. I was on the edge of my seat throughout the whole story just waiting to see what was going to happen. Highly recommend this duet!!
Sometimes I wonder if I’m reading the same book as everyone else. Book 1 was so good. There really didn’t need to be a book 2, in my opinion. This one seemed almost like an afterthought. Getting through it was brutal. It seriously felt like they were on a weekend vaca and their kid was with grandma. It drug on and on and on. I can’t even stomach the thought of book 3 with this family. Somewhere along the lines, Luka lost has masculinity and is just a boring wimp. I just can’t.
Awesome ! I absolutely loved Eve and Luka’s story. I completely captivated me and kept me turning pages. It’s twist and turn kept me totally intrigued. I couldn’t put it down. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing read
I couldn't put it down since I started reading it! This book has it all, action-packed, sexy scenes and a huge sentiment of love, where the character does everything to save his family!!
This is NOT a stand-alone read. It is the second part of the duet and ends with a HFN / HEA. The great news is that both parts have been released and available through KU for those that participate. There is a third story available that features their daughter, Milaya.
** There are some scenes that will be a trigger for sensitive readers. I have included examples below. Also, if you have not read the previous story in this series, the following WILL contain SPOILERS **
If you are looking for a darker themed cartel story, then I can recommend this duet. Is it realistic? So-so, but does it contain action, adventure, angst, evil versus worse evil, and hot steamy scenes? Yes, yes and YES!
Nicole Fox builds the story universe in a natural way, dark scene by dark scene. Luka is a bad, bad boy. He is a killer that has been trained from childhood to take over the Volkov Bratva. He is known to be merciless and ruthless, but not when it comes to Eve and his daughter, both of whom are his world.
This part begins where the previous story ends. Luka has been drugged after he got back from the FBI headquarters he had been dragged to in the middle of the night and he awakens to find that Eve and Milaya have been abducted. This starts his worst nightmare, as he knows who did it but not where they are.
I have a few smaller timeline type issues, but I don’t consider them to be egregious enough that I felt like I should lower the rating. These include Eve suddenly being a head chef of Fleur Vingt restaurant when there are no previous references to either the position or the restaurant. There is also a scene where one of the people abducted, Maddie, knew Luka’s name but shouldn’t have at that point. Not too much later is when she is told him name ‘accidentally’.
⛔️ Contains references to, or scenes detailing, subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some, including, but not limited to: adult language; derogatory terms; mental health challenges; steamy adult intimate scenes with dominance, submission, etc.; violence such as kidnapping, abduction, murder, death, torture, assault, fighting, betrayal, coercion, blackmail, attempted rape, threats, money laundering, gun running, prostitution, human trafficking, mafia / cartels, drug use, manufacturing, and distribution, etc.
There are a few grammatical issues in this story, these include incorrect word choices. I highlighted a couple of the errors and uploaded them to Goodreads.com for anyone interested. I am mentioning these issues for readers such as myself that visualize the story as it is read, because errors interrupt the flow.
Ugh. Eve really let me down in this book. Eve gets kidnapped by rian her ex. Fiancés sister as retribution for Luka killing the ex. She sells Eve to a fancy slave auction held be the cartel. I like that most of the book took place at the auction. It was a big change of pace & I liked the change of setting to keep the story different and interesting. A big however was I. The details. It felt like the author had a good idea & instead if doiubf research a taking time to flesh out the story she just ran with it. To list a few things. Rian was easily the most beautiful sexy girl on the auction. There were 14 girls arranged in numbers by ugliest to prettiest. Rians number was 7. What? Wouldn’t she be 14? Then there is a rental process of sorts with the girls. For 5 days the men can buy the night with the girls before making a final purchase on their 5th night. Seems weird that these men would show up in masks and pay. So much $ to basically partner swap rape victims. Then the bids. Omg the bids. The dust bud placed was 500$ like what? I thought the author meant 500k but no 500 dollars. I have shoes more expensive than that. One night the bidding gets really crazy and rian goes for 10k again. It’s the black market and these men are supposed to be the wealthiest men in the world. I was expecting million dollar price tags to buy humans. This isn’t the red Louvet district. So weird. Then rian showing up & ugh it just fell flat
I loved this book and the first one so much! Definitely recommend. The plot was really good, and I loved that ending and those last few chapters.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ok so loved this book and loved the plot twist with Kiara and the guy that was just I never saw that coming. SoooooOOOOooo let's talk about those last few chapters with his guys and her new friends like I need them to have their own book in this series. PLEASEEEE I was just left hanging here without their own book while the author just throws this in at the end and says let the characters develop some feelings for each other. The book was really good, and I liked that it also involved Cole and her background and then Coles family. I also really liked how Eve grew as a character and more into this stronger self that was always there, but she just needed to find it. I also wish with another book of the other characters developing feelings for each other but also them finding the other people that were sold and then that way to we can get some more background of how their daughter grew up while also seeing Eve and the other women growing their character even more to their full potential.
Wow..... i don’t think any other mafia book can match up to this one now.... I’m scared to even read another .
Summary: the story continues with Eva & Luka & their daughter. Eva gets taken away & sold off to a human trafficking ring. It involves 5 days where elite men can bid for their women of choice.
I don’t think I’ve felt this angst & heartbreak in an novel. The emotions Eva & Luca were going through while being stuck in that human trafficking inn. Their daughter hold up against them. The other women & some of the things they were forced to do. It’s actually terrifying that these situations are actually happening in real life as well.
-5/5 - perfect couple. So much love & understanding between these two. - their love for their daughter is just heart warming. They were OK dying if it meant that their daughter would survive. - & the ending where the gang got them out????? My heart was RACING.

Oh that darn Volkov Bratva. I absolutely adored the first book in this trilogy. Luka and Eve's story blew me away. I was so eager to jump into this one to see what happens. I hoped and prayed that they would get their happy ever after. I have become a huge fan of Nicole Fox and her mafia romances. I loved Luka and Eve throughout both books. The chemistry they had, despite their obstacles, was crazy hot. The writing was excellent and I just loved the emotion and passion this couple had. What I wasn't a fan of was the fact that most of this book took place in the sickening world of the sex slave auction. That aspect of it was difficult to read and a little bit "B-movie-ish". I know they did what they had to do to survive, but I feel like Luka and Eve basically ignored the fact that their baby girl was kidnapped. Despite that, I loved this couple and I loved how this book brought everything back full circle and gave them the romantic, emotional ending they deserved.
This story continues from Book 1 and we are now seeing Luka & Eve as husband and wife. They are beginning to explore each other and all the ways they compliment each other and it is quite hot. Luka loves his wife with everything he has but he has enemies and if he isn't careful Eve and their baby could be in serious danger. Eve and their baby is kidnapped and she is thrown into the corrupt world of the Cartel, human trafficking and dirty FBI agents. Eve will not go gently and she embraces all her power and mother protection mode to keep her baby safe and alive. This is a powerful conclusion to this amazing series and you will love Eve even more by the end. She has come into her own and has embraced being with Luka and she is really is the Queen of the Bratva and everyone should think twice before crossing her. You will thoroughly enjoy this action packed adventure and it is a wild ride so hold on. Happy Reading!
This is the continuation of the story from Broken Vows. Eve and the baby were kidnapped at the end of the first book. Luka is very guilty as he was outside smoking when they were taken. Eve is put up for an slave auction that is run by the Cartel. This is an upscale, private affair, invitation only. It occurs over 5 days, with nightly one night auctions, culminating in a permanent auction the last night. The bidders wear masks to hide their identities. Luka goes incognito, with the plan to outbid everyone each night and then the final auction. Luka and Eve love each other completely in this book, with each one prepared to sacrifice for the other. I enjoyed the book, but I thought all the time spent at the Inn became a luttle tedious. I recommend the book.
Lights out with this one! THIS story, FINALLY, one that Rivals Artem & Esme! I didn’t think it possible. This is solidly 2nd place and that’s saying a lot! I couldn’t put it down & I liked the 2nd half better than the 1st which is rare except for Nicole’s books, happens a lot with hers. Their love story was to die for, the action kept you on your toes and the steamy scenes?! My oh my… I’m NOT looking forward to reading the next book: For 1: I hate RM (reverse harem) & 2: how dare they make my Luca a “bad” guy whose home is hell? Excuse you?? Yeah, I’m sure there is a twist to it but still…lol giving the series a rest and may come back to 3rd but 1 & 2 were everything!! Thank you Nicole Fox for yet another great read!!
A great ending to this duet! It was definitely not what I expected , and in some areas I got frustrated. But to see the love and devotion these two gorgeous MCs had for each other was astounding! The determination Luca had, he went through so much pain and heartbreak to save his queen I felt everything he did!! Eve was so strong and fearless I give credit to how much she held it together and claimed her place as a bratva queen!
But I have to say my hero was Luca. Not because eve wasnt strong but because Luca didn’t give up! He had to watch her be paraded and touched up by other men all so he could save her life! He was so devoted to her I would easily bow to man like that 😍 *sigh * but I’m not saying anymore, I’ll let you decide.
After reading Broken Vows I couldn’t wait to read Broken Vows. And I couldn’t put it down until it was finished. Luka and Eve are stronger than ever and Eve has really showed her strength has a Luka queen. Eve has been kidnapped in both books and though I enjoyed the change of scenery with where a good 50% of the novel it would have been nice not to deal with Eve or their child being kidnapped again. For me it just made the Volkov Bratva seem weak and Luka was unable to properly protect his family. The erotic scenes were a 3.5-5. They were sexy but not intense. Loved how Luka and Eve’s story ended and can’t wait to read about their daughter in Broken Sin.
By far, my favourite of the series. It was action packed, dark and twisted and the Heroine was a total Queen!
It was excellent to see Eve really develop as a character in the book and I enjoyed the story from her POV more than the first book.Granted there were scenes where she was starting to grate on my nerves but Nicole Fox manages to appease this by acknowledging the characters mistakes and not leaving loose ends where we wonder, "why did Eve say that? why is she acting this way?".
As for Luka... H.O.T ! The more erotic scenes were downright raunchy. Loved every moment of it. Luka is definitely in my Top 5 of loveable Alpha Characters.
