Eight years ago, I had two loves: music and the awkward yet brilliant guitarist Will Evans. When he ghosted me, I lost both. Then with new responsibilities—including helping Daddy save his vineyard—I stopped playing music and started playing it safe.
Now, Will returns with a scar on his chin and pain in his eyes, admitting he left because a secret had his heart locked away. I forgive him, but I’ve moved on. I'm growing my thriving wine store so I can take over the family business. Daddy's ready to retire from the back-breaking work in the vines.
The old fiery attraction between Will and me reignites as we make music together again, just like the old days. Except now it burns deeper, brighter, hotter.
But I have a secret of my own that could close Will’s heart forever.
Award-winning author of romantic comedies, Terra Weiss brings heart, humor, and happy endings to each of her books. She grew up in a small town in Idaho, but now lives in Atlanta with her mad scientist husband, wacky and wonderful mother, spunky daughter, and the feral ten-pound dogs who run her house. She enjoys jogging at a snail's pace, reading, and piling bright orange mountains of squeezy cheese on her crackers.
This is a well written second chance romance in small town Blue Vine. The author brings realistic characters in Emma and Will. After years apart the spark is still there. She paints her scenes perfectly and delivers an entertaining page turner. Loved it!!
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
We are back in Blue Vine by way of Atlanta. I am loving the characters and stories this author weaves. Emma and Will are working on a second chance after others had their hand in holding back information. Secrets on both sides are making the friendship a bit strained. But a wonderfully talented child is the glue that might put this all back together.
I found this author by accident with her first book, “Finding Yesterday”, I highly recommend this author and this feel-good series.
This is my second book from this talented author, and I really enjoyed this one.
These characters are easy to relate to, as the writing allows the reader to become involved and attached to their story. I appreciated how the character's idiosyncrasies were handled.
This is an interesting storyline that kept the pages turning. I was at the end of the story faster than I wanted to be!
I recommend this author and this book.

I’d really give a 3.5. Second book in the series. I hadn’t read the first book in the series before I read this book, and I didn’t feel like I was missing anything. That’s always nice when you accidentally read a series out of order. Overall I liked the story, I just didn’t connect to some of the characters. I would still read more books written by this author. I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
Terra Weiss did NOT disappoint! I LOVED IT! Can I give this book 20 stars, please?
You see, the countdown to the March 1 release couldn’t come fast enough! I have been impatiently waiting for the release of CUTTING CHORDS by Terra Weiss ever since I took a chance and read her first book in the Blue Vine series, FINDING YESTERDAY. That book had me in stitches, and while I loved that first Blue Vine story and you should definitely read it, this one is my new favorite book because the author deeply layered her characters with flaws and foibles that allowed them a chance for redemption and a happy ending. In fact, her blurb said it even better than I can: “It reminds us that families are a beautiful mess, and perfect love finds its way back to imperfect people." WOW. JUST WOW. If I had to sum up this review in five words or less: I enjoyed the author's writing.
“When the world is obliterated to ashes, do as the heavens do - collect the dust and make a star…” - CUTTING CHORDS by Terra Weiss -
This quote from CUTTING CHORDS really spoke to me on so many levels. And, this was just one of many sentences that I had to highlight in this book. I loved this story so much I bought it for a friend who could really use a sweet romance with all the feels. So many books are formulaic in their plots and character development, but Ms. Weiss dives deep into each character and their motivations, and then sprinkles each chapter with unique humor and inflection. I couldn’t help but laugh at Ms. Barb and the Silver Foxy Singles dating. And I swear, I waded in the trenches along with Emma as she is the thread keeping her friends, family, and the vineyard stitched together - even at the expense of her own wishes at times. And her relationship with Will kept me turning the pages when I should have been working (sorry, not sorry!), but I kept sneaking more pages to read and find out how Will, a hella-hottie musician, can win Emma’s heart once more.
If you like excellent writing, a well-developed plot, and complicated characters that step outside the typical romance trope lines, then this book is for you. It definitely was for me! Plan on devouring it all at once. Highly recommend.
The second in the Blue Vine series, Cutting Chords picks up a little after the conclusion of Finding Yesterday. Claire’s sister Emma is helping plan Claire’s wedding(!!), along with running her own business and raising an amazing son on her own, when suddenly the love of her life reappears after ghosting her 8 years ago. Plus, there’s trouble at the family vineyard! Lots of stress from lots of places! Poor Emma is overwhelmed and things get more complicated as the feelings for her ex return.
I loved all the scenes with Emma and her son, Dylan. He’s got a lot of big feelings, and it was nice to read how Emma navigates parenting him. It was also great to see how much help Emma got from her family when she needed it, and how much she is helped them in turn. Yes this is a romance, and there was plenty of that, but Cutting Chords is also about family and how this family keeps showing up for each other.
I don’t know what it is, but Terra Weiss is just grabbing all my feelings with her Blue Vine series. I cried so much while I was reading Cutting Chords. The characters are so lovable, complex, and REAL! I feel like I could go down to Georgia and hang out in Blue Vine with my new friends. Reading these books has been truly magical.

This is book 2 in the Blue Vine Stories, but can be read as a standalone, although I love the continuity of already being familiar with the characters and settings. This story focuses on Emma, the older sister of Claire, who featured in Book 1. Emma is very independent, living in Atlanta with her young son, and running her own business. She is thrown off course by the return of her childhood sweetheart, with whom she had a promising music career before he suddenly left the area, and remained out of contact. This is their story, and it is very sensitively and intelligently told. Both have secrets that are exposed, and Emma’s family & financial problems have to be dealt with. It was a very enjoyable read, and I can’t wait for Book 3!! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I loved every minute of this fun and touching read that immediately pulled me into the middle of all that was happening and I just couldn't put the book down until I read the last word with relatable characters I want to be friends with, a wonderful family dynamic, small town vibe and a heartwarming second chance romance. If you enjoy a well written rom-com that pulls at your heartstrings, you will love Cutting Chords, Blue Vine Book 2 by gifted author Terra Weiss.
Cutting Chords by Terra Weiss is book two in the Blue Vines Stories. It can be read as a stand-alone but is much better if read after book one. I enjoyed visiting Blue Vine again with this book! I love the characters that Ms Weiss brings to life. Dylan quickly became my favorite person in the book. Overall, a good read! It is a clean book without sex and foul language. It would be easy to call this a second chance romance or a secret baby story and it would be truthful to do so. But this book is much more than that. This novel touches on redemption, mis communication and the power of friends and family. I'm generally a bit of a cynic, but this story slipped in through the cracks, making me laugh and cry and cheer. I'm thinking I need to find the other books in this saga.

A family-oriented-story of Emma who became aware that her son, Dylan, is turning out to be a gifted guitar player who takes after his dad.
Emma Cole’s not sure if she should tell Will that Dylan is his son … after Will’s absence of eight years … where letters went missing and misunderstandings galore.
The theme of playing music is what caught my attention for this book. And then it talked about making the best of what life has handed you and I could definitely relate. This is a great book that feels like real people with real struggles. I will go and read the first book. I hope there are more coming from this small town.
Cutting Chords is a wonderfully absorbing tale of two people who fall in love - but then one of them disappears before their child is born. When Will suddenly reappears, not knowing that he has a son and still incapable of saying "I love you," Emma has to make some hard decisions. The way she and Will grapple with their traumas and uncertainties makes for a terrific read - and the little boy they've produced is a delight. So is this book! Please keep the Blue Vine series coming.
Terra Weiss is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. This is the second book in the Blue Vine series, but can be read as a stand alone. A nice, quick, happy read. This second chance romance for Emma and Will does not disappoint.
This story of Will and Emma had me captivated to learn all the secrets people were keeping. Some moments had me heartbroken, but in the end they get their heartwarming ending.
Another great book from Terra Weiss! I am really loving this series!
WOW! This one definitely has a lot of twists and turns but all roads eventually lead home! It is very well written, great storyline and great character development! It was great to get to know Emma & Dylan more in this book (Will too!) Glad to see that so many of the characters from Finding Yesterday, although I did miss Nate!
I definitely had all of the feels with this book...happiness, sadness, grief, frustration and love! I found myself very frustrated with Emma and then that frustration slowly moved over to Will. I absolutely love Dylan. It was nice to see how Emma handled challenges that came along with having a gifted child with such patience &grace (especially as a single parent). It really helped her navigate the relationship with Will.
I look forward to reading more Blue Vines stories!

Emma and Will were both such interesting and different characters to read about. I enjoyed reading both their journeys and the transitions they made both as people and in their lives.
It was great to delve a little deeper into Blue Vine and the characters relationships with each other (and everyone else in the town).
The author finds just the right blend of light easy reading with that little bit of angst/drama that makes you want to keep on reading to see what happens next.

Am I glad I read it - yes Was it a waste of my time - no Would I sit down and read it all over again - I could (if I didn't already have such a long TBR pile) Would I read more by this author based on this book - Yes, moving on to book 3 right now.
Terra Weiss has done it again with Cutting Chords. She has written a beautiful, heartfelt, and passionate romance novel following the story of Emma Cole and Will Evans.
She has written a beautiful story of love and loss, of strength and sensitivity, of magic and brilliance. The characters are so realistic that I found myself wanting the best and sometimes the worst for them. I wanted their successes and their love to happen. I felt their heartbreak and their passion. This novel was absolutely wonderful.

A small vineyard town outside of Atlanta is truly home for these complicated, quirky, emotional and loving family members.
Talented musicians are torn apart by tragedy, unspoken truths, misunderstandings and tough soul searching. Back together after almost a decade, they learn to accept each others secrets, weaknesses and individual issues trying to accept their pasts and move on.
Great characters, good story and true to life angst.
Page turning romantic comedy you won’t want to end.
I received a complimentary copy of this book, all opinions in this review are my own.
So so beautiful! Ms. Weiss pulls every emotion you can name and spins a story of fear, heartbreak and reconciliation! A story that leaves you sighing satisfactorily!
Continuing the Blue Vines with Claire, Jack, Emma and the return of Will, what a great story.
Loved the love that never ended and the happy ending for all. I was pulled in wondering how things would turn out, wondering if when things got tough if the tough got going… running away from it all- would it ever stop and would he ever settle down to be a family man…
This must read Rom-Com with a little mysterious twist is a page turner. Leaving me looking forward to continue reading more.

I read this whole series. CC is the second in the set and loved it, too. I thought the secret between Emma and Will was very well handled and oh man, when it comes out, talk about the feels. I love the town and the humor mixed with a well thought out story. It's great writing. Each book can be a standalone, but I highly recommend reading them in order. Finding Yesterday, then Cutting Chords, then Restoring Hearts. I also just read Wingmom by this author. Super funny!
Cutting Chords is book two in the Blue Vines Stories. It can be read as a stand-alone, but I am glad I read book one first for context. It was nice to revisit the area and some favorite characters. We follow Emma and find out the reason she gave up singing. She is the older sister of Claire from book one and that was an issue they had argued about. The real star of the story was her young son - a musical prodigy. This was an enjoyable contemporary romance as well as an engrossing family drama.
It was a story that broke your heart and then mended it again. A single mum struggling to keep all the balls in the air and leaving very little for herself. When the man she loves comes back into the picture it's just another layer of pressure and complications. A very emotional story.
