Daddy Wolf-In-Law

Rate this book
In a world without law, love is the deadliest sin.

Elijah

He kidnapped me for vengeance against my pack.

The pack I tried to run away from.

Now, I’ve gone from one prison to another.

My captor is ruthless, deadly, and he won’t stop at nothing until he avenges the death of his son.

He’ll kill, torture, and do everything to hunt my pack into extinction.

Except for me. He’s saving me for last.

I wish I could sprout wings and fly away from this dark and violent world. But I can’t help but be drawn to the fire that rages within Nolan, like Icarus flying to close to the sun, will he burn my wings? I can’t lose myself to him, he’s my bitter enemy and my dead mate’s father.

He can’t know I carry his grandchild, and that I’m the one responsible for his son’s death.

Nolan

I swore to never rest until the pack who murdered my son pays in blood!

When I discover my son’s secret affair with the omega of a rival pack, I fear I may have found the one who set my son up to be killed.

I’ll make him pay, just like all the others. I’ll kill his entire family before I send him straight to hell.

And yet, something in his eyes tells me he is an innocent, perhaps the last piece of my son that I have left in this world.

I took him to make him fall into despair, but the closer I get to him it becomes just as likely that the one who falls is me.

He makes me yearn for things I can't name - but to claim him would betray my son's memory.

One star for the cover art and one for this promising plot. Except for the sibling bonds of crazy town. Shifter relations bordering on beastuality. The Grammer and sentence structure. The pacing, lord the pacing.

I've been shocked several times. The 70s had those blacksplotation movies. Then 'Black snake moan ' movie was released. Samuel L. Jackson never fails to entertain. The other characters. Had me wondering, is there corners of the literature world that is this raunchy. I mean smut does a better job.

I understand that some communities are comfortable engaging in activities. I personally would deem as, "Going too far". I mean there are questionable levels of consent in kink play.

Smashwords website might have allowed too much rope. Been too lax! I'm too afraid to take a peek for myself. If this author came from that site.

Like you took V. C. Andrew's works and twisted it so much. It would make a catholic priest puke. Forget clutching pearls. This land must be burned to the ground.

Take the feral angle, mix in a murder mystery. Brotherly bonds of a marriage contract to an unwanted suitor. If the omega doesn't comply. The aging pack is going to end. Will there be a truce or merging of criminal enterprises?

Oh yeah there is a ghost. But it could be a figment of the murdered son's fathers imagination.

Well, that was certainly different. I did manage to finish it, but it was one crazy ride. I couldn’t really care about any of the characters. Elijah seemed ready to marry anyone who wasn’t his brother and Nolan talked to a ghost that wasn’t even there. The plot just kept jumping all over the place, but at least I finished. Right?

shoulda judged the book by its title?

This wasn’t original, interesting, or even sexy. You find out more about the meals eaten than pack/family politics and dynamics. The dialog is horrendous and the writing just feels first-draft-deep. And the editing takes a turn for the worse the further you get into the book; I hate when that happens. And there’s this whole “ghost” angle. Just no. Nope to all of it.

Stopped at the 71% mark when the meat cleaver came out, I was done (honestly surprised I continued as long as I did). You'd have thought I would have learned my lesson after disliking another book by this author. Let's just be real the Maury/soap opera storyline in the blurb, and the covers always mesmerize me, I couldn't say no. unfortunately, this author has great vision and interesting stories but poor execution. The story is just choppy and robotic. Important information just gets dropped without build up, then there information that seems to be missing entirely. The pacing is cringe worthy, Where is the taboo tension or moral struggle. Hell, where is the daddy character at?

This is was the dark that I was craving for!!!

Morrigan Black is now my new favorite author of my favorite author list. Daddy Wolf-In-Law was the dark, mpreg, omegaverse I was craving and had been looking for. It had some very taboo elements that was just delicious. I hope this author writes more of this delicious darkness.

interesting

This is an interesting book it’s a different take on than most books I’ve read. There is a lot of taboo in here but as you read it you can come to terms of how it began and it was by circumstances.
It’s gritty and a little bit dark with enough heat. I really liked it can’t wait to read more from the author.

Bad, Just Bad.

I have read this book via Kindle Unlimited and this is my honest opinion.
This book popped up on my suggestions and I thought I would give it a go.
Unfortunately, after the first chapter, it kind of deteriorated rapidly. From feral wolves to incestual, non consentual activities.
From ghosts to amputation to poison.
There's a lot of physical, psychological and emotional a*use.
The dialogue is very wooden, the author seemingly focused on over-describing the environment.
A lot of the time I was either scratching my head in confusion or rolling my eyes at the absurdity.
It seems like the writer didn't know where to go with the direction of the plotline or was getting bored of continuing the book as the grammatical errors increased as it staggered to the end.
Overall, I felt like this was a very bad caricature of a Shifterverse story. The author appears to throw as many plotlines and negative tropes that the reader wouldn't see how weak the plot is.
This plot has been done so many times by many different authors and to a much higher standard than this story.
I certainly will be steering clear of this author or any of their work.

2.5 stars

Ok overall. The story had potential but it just wasn't executed well. It definitely gave first draft vibes. The world building basically doesn't exist. Humans apparently don't know wolves exist. There's no mention of any other type of paranormal creatures. Are all wolves in the mafia? And there only male wolves and only alpha and omega designations? Then there's the whole Nolan is feral and sees ghosts that aren't really there, like he doesn't sound like I would want him around a baby. I feel bad for Elijah on one hand and then a lot of it seems like a bed of his own making. I don't know exactly why he thought he needed Aiden to escape his family. Anyway, maybe with some restructuring and better editing, this would be better. As is, I wouldn't read it or this author's work again.

3.5⭐️

Alright, so I was really enjoying this. I loved the whole taboo aspect of this which was the reason I picked it up. And at first, it was going good. I loved all the angst, Elijah getting tortured and Nolan finding it hard to keep his hands off his son’s lover.

However the point where Jasper planted the bomb and everything after just came off extremely stupid to me. Why? It wasn’t rocket science to know that Jasper would go for Elijah and try to take Elijah, it was no secret that Jasper wanted to mate with his own brother. Nolan had sent Elijah home alone with no protection, how come so smart suddenly became stupid to not know that Jasper would go after Elijah? Yeah, I know that arc was added for the plot but it was a stupid choice of conflict. Which is why this book is getting 3.5⭐️ rating instead of 4.5.

I really wanted to like this but… yeah I couldn’t. Even though the author tried hard to emphasize the omega’s feelings throughout, hoping it would make the relationship seem less like a betrayal it all just came off as nonsense. Tbh, I was actually hoping daddy-in-law would have been the omega, lol. Can’t win them all I guess. It wasn’t the worst thing I have ever read so I was generous with my 3 stars.

HEA MxM

So this was dark romance and it was sweet a d bloody and violence
The forbidden romance between father in-law and son in law was sweet
The spice was like a 2.5 for me
The one thing that was not good was the end were they named the grandchild/ baby after the dead father like it was a replacement for the dad who died

The idea for the story was kind of interesting, I love a good criminal saves the day type scenario but the characters, locations and relationships had very little description… just the food in a few scenes had detailed descriptions. I got the impression the author was hungry when they wrote this or has a passion for cooking.

MMMMMMBOY. I can’t even explain why or how I made it even 24% of the way through this absolute wreck of a book. The dialogue is trash. The pacing is wild. The editing is nonexistent. Don’t even bother tbh.

It's easy to read, and kinda entertaining, not gonna lie. But it's not good. It's just juicy, but weirdly tasteless and bland.
Even drama and gossip get boring when they are too cliché.
