When you’ve lost the person you love most, the only way to heal is to get retribution.
CREED
Everyone has some darkness lurking inside of them. The ability to convince themselves what’s right is wrong, and what’s wrong is right. All my life, I got great at hiding my demons. But you know what they say. Buried demons have a way of clawing themselves to the surface. For a man like me, those demons eventually became my only family.
Deep secrets and enemies piling up at my door left little room for anything else. Then she came along. A woman I never saw coming. But how can I live for anything when my soul remains so far from saving, the devil himself considers it home? Grief can force you to do unspeakable things and tragedy can make you unrecognizable, even to yourself. I guess for a man who used to find God, but now only sees the devil, inflicting revenge isn’t a part of life. It’s the entirety of it.
For years, these adopted Chicago siblings have lived by the code, Know Thy Enemy. However, what seems too good to be true usually is. Some say mafia. They say family. 21/6: *i’m currently on holiday, but i just had to finish this series. and even now, i’m still at a loss of words.
review & rankings coming soon because BRO, this series is everything! ♡
No spoilers.... I knew Creed would find the answers to much needed questions about his beloved Tristan. I am so happy he made it back to the Crowne family in one piece. The backstory with Duchess, Stan, Glo, Ryker, Shade and Pope had me clutching my pearls a few times. The intricate way the author weaved their connection was astounding. The conclusion to this saga was appropriate for all they've collectively been through. I knew it was her... Sneaky smile.😃
There’s something about Glory that they don’t know.
In Creed we Trust is book ten in the Crowne Legacy series, however it’s the first book I’ve read as it’s part of the RARE morally grey readathon challenge. Most of the reviews I saw raved about the whole series and I kinda feel like I missed out starting with this one. At first glance I wouldn’t have usually picked this book up as it has a sad backstory and I’m not an emotional reader, but the twists of this book made for an intriguing read. I’ll be honest I was already committed to reading this so I didn’t read the blurb which was definitely a mistake because it took me a while to settle into the story. With the secrets of the story it took me a minute to buckle in for the ride.
Creed has lost his way in life when his wife is taken from him too soon. He’s devastated and struggling to see what’s right in front of him. When Glory enters his life he’s in a bad place and these two clash at every step.
‘On the day of reckoning, those who can find the light in darkness will be saved from life in hell.’
Can Creed grab his second chance and will Glory finally realise the truth?
✅ Enemies to loves ✅ Suspense/ mystery ✅ Morally Grey
I don’t want to give anything away so I have been cryptic with my review.
This was a great way to close out the series. The way my mouth was opened when everything was revealed. Such a good series. Creed wasn’t as bad as I thought from previous books. He was an ass at times but I definitely understood him more after this book.
What an ending. And it honestly ended how it should have. Creed needed some peace. I wish his family would have given him that sooner and in a different way, but here we are.
Now, Wesleigh Siobhan and Sean Crisden. Smh. Literally no words, but I have so many!! Phenomenal! Superb! Amazing!! Top Tier! The way I knew exactly who each Crowne and spouse was they were voicing!! TOP DAMN TIER!! 👏🏾👏🏾🤏🏾🤏🏾
Sherelle Green is an amazing author who uses descriptive scenes that are a delight for mental mind reels that turn into beautiful movie scenes.
In Creed We Trust is the tenth book in the Crowne Legacy series. Due to lack of time and being part of a readathon I wasn’t able to read the nine other books prior to this book. So this might’ve been the result that this book left some confusion here and there when it comes to the many characters.
We start out with getting to know Creed Crowne. He has had a complex past, having been in foster homes, being adopted and finding out his adoptive mother is actually his birth mother. Not even to forget that two years prior of when we start this book his wife died that send him into a downward spiral. But who is Creed? Who is Glory? Who are they really? I missed a depth to their characters to really delve deeply into this story. They weren’t grasping me. For instance, Creed lost his wife, Tristan, two years ago, and instead of getting his act together, he went onto an unaliving spree. This instance showed me the privilege of a man, because this would’ve never happened if the roles had been reversed. It made Creed sound a little whiny at times and a little too eager to fill his mobster shoes, needing the hunger to feed his hunger for unaliving.
The small insights and glimpses we got for the love between Creed and Tristan, but in order to have cared a little more I would’ve loved some throwbacks into the past moments. Taking the reader into a scene of the grand love they once shared. It would’ve created the depth to their characters.
The moment Creed finds out that Glory is his beloved Tristan, there was rage missing. He has been lied to for years, his own family having betrayed him in a way that is almost unforgivable and would definitely need more time to heal and come to terms with. The thought if Glo being a Marvel super soldier is not a thought I’ve been able to shake due to the serum that’s been used on her to make her come back to live. The moment where it’s revealed she’s Tristan felt like the shocking moment where Captain America sees Bucky for the first time again in years.
After this whole debacIe couldn’t help it and miss reconnecting moments between Glo and Creed. It’s a missed opportunity to not have a scene between Creed and Glo where they have a vulnerable moment together where he talks about their love, moments they have shared during their time together and how the last few years have been. Them just figuring life out and catching up on years lost. Due to the brushing over this reconnecting process some moments felt a little rushed, for example the meeting of the twins. It’s not slowly being worked towards, it’s just there, which makes the pacing of the book fairly quick without it leaving any room for questions.
Personal preferences Mid chapter character pov changes. It would’ve been better to just have added a new chapter. There’s one chapter with a pov from a side character ‘Queenie’, it didn’t feel necessary and it could’ve been done from Creed’s pov where we would’ve gotten his feelings and thoughts. This would’ve created an extra layer to his character, but also given us a more vulnerable and human Creed. Instead of the strong macho man he seems to be portray. There’s a lot of side characters in this book, which does make it confusing sometimes.
That all being said, there is a moment between Creed and his mother, Duchess, where they both open up about what they’ve been through. It was enjoyable to read that Creed finally let up on his grudge towards his mother a little. Understanding that she was broken in a way, just like him.
The smut and spice is something that was beautifully written, very descriptive, very affirmative and connective in a way. They felt like actual humans instead of these supernatural forces.
I wasn’t the intended target reader for this novel and I’m 10000% okay with that, though I still enjoyed this book thoroughly and would recommend to anyone else who would want to dip their toes into dark romance, but doesn’t want to be immediately traumatized.

I’m in tears because my favorite series is at its end. Creed gave what I needed and wanted. The twist was a shocker. The spice was spicing. Wesleigh Siobhan and Sean Crisden will forever be the Crowne’s for me. The story, series and narration….chefs kiss. Now to catch up on the side stories for the next generation.
This book almost took me out. My heart has always been with Creed from the moment he lost his beloved wife in an earlier book of this series. From that point on he was like an allusive shadow who observed his family from a distance, while doing a very dangerous dance with what seemed like the devil himself. The amount of anger and rage that he carried around was frightening and sexy as hell.🔥🔥🔥🔥
This story answered so many unanswered questions. Whew, when Creed decided he could no longer trust or be around anyone in his family, that was a heart break. So much was going on in the beginning of the book that I just could not imagine anymore earthshaking Crowne family secrets being revealed. Well let me tell you …The moment Creed was contracted to murder a man who was participating in a challenge In the Red Dungeon I felt something was about to happen. Well it did, He shot the man and kidnapped the woman that was partnered with the man in the event. Of course, at that point I knew he had lost his mind to the dark side. He had not had a real interest in a woman since he lost his wife. It seemed when the kidnapping took place , all hell broke loose and Creeds world seemed to get hit with a tsunami of unbelievable family secrets, and unexpected danger, that had me holding my breath, clutching my pearls and shedding some tears.
Sherrelle Greene, you are truly a gifted writer and I have thoroughly enjoyed this Crowne legacy series. This is one that is well worth a reread. I can’t help but wonder if this is truly the end of this series, I really hate to see it end 😊 Also what about Pope Maverick? I know he isn’t a Crowne but….well he ever have a story ? ❤️
A teaser that a bookstagrammer posted about this book is what started me on the Crowne Legacy series. I knew I had to start with book 1, and I'm so glad that I did. I really appreciate how the author came full circle from that prequel novella that gave you a taste of what the Crowne family was about, to the conclusion that tied it all together.
Creed was always so serious. He was happily in love, enjoyed working in the background for the family, and always put family first. When he lost the love of his life, Tristan, I honestly didn't think this author would be able to integrate him back in the Crowne family. His grief made him doing ugly, merciless things, and he turned his back on his family in the worst way.
What I loved about this book was the redemption that she gave his character. It was absolutely NOT and easy battle. He had to forgive his family, forgive himself, and find a way to make peace. The heroine helped him do all that.
The heroine was a breath of fresh air. He's tasked with keeping her safe, much like his brother had to do in a previous book. Close proximity definitely can make enemies turn to lovers, and while this romance wasn't as cut and dry as that, it delivered so many raw emotions.
I'm so thankful I saw that teaser that day and decided to binge read this series.
In Creed We Trust is the much-anticipated finale of the Crowne Legacy Series. Creed has been spiraling out of control since he lost the love of his life and sunshine, Tristan. Readers met Glory Evans briefly in Ryker’s Last Salvation, but we did not know her at all!
I wondered who was going to make Creed fall in love again. Ms. Green answered this question in a way no one expects. There are a couple of mind-blowing moments where I was questioning what I read. There is a lot to say about this book, but I don’t want to give anything away. I will say, both Creed and Glory are battling demons. Neither of them is the same as they were in the past and have experienced a rebirth. This is the only way they “fit”.
This book went above and beyond my expectations! I highly recommend it. See full review at romanceincolor.com.
Good penmanship but I’m just a little confused but that could be bc of my lack of knowledge of romance novels. This series was recommended to me by my bff and I’m not gonna lie, it started off ok, I was intrigued but the storyline shifted and start focusing more on love story. I got confused with the word Mafia in the title. This book had a little drama and I did have an emotional reaction for Pope bc he didn’t deserve to be hurt. He was a good man and so was Creed. I really wish Tristan had stayed dead. I didn’t see the logic of bringing her back as another person to have a relationship with another man, take her from that man and give to another man and she’s Glo now. I guess that was the highlight of the story. But anyway, I would love to see Pope have a happily ever after. For some reason Pope won my heart. I think he deserves a good woman to love him. But for real tho, did this series ended on a cliffhanger about Kai and Pope and Pope’s biological mom? Ok, I’m finna go back to my cup of tea that I’m most familiar with so I can go thru 1000 emotions at 1 time🤣😂, gangsta genre. I’m toxic, I love action books.
Of this series is author Sherelle Green and Sean "BMF" Crisden, in audio of course. It's how I consumed the entire series thus far! And when I tell you Sean ATE the roles of Creed, Saint, Jedidiah, Pharoah, Hollis and all other male characters that graced the storyline...it's NO exaggeration! Meanwhile Wesleigh Siobhan bodied all the females she portrayed...including Tristan, Genesis, Cece, Taraj, Korie, Ryker, Keaton, Duchess, Queenie and Glory! I know I'm leaving somebody out, but Sherelle deserves all the flowers for this fabulous series made up of plot twists, danger, intrigue, action, smoking hot chemistry and last but not least, love!
Crowne Legacy could easily be a movie or TV series and I would tune in without a doubt! Bravo Sherelle! Take a bow!
In this installment let's just say I wasn't looking forward to how CREED CROWNE would cope with the loss of his wife in his own story & I was even less enthused at the beginning of ALL HAIL QUEEN DUCHESS how CREED was coping & speaking to the woman who was 'servicing' him, simply because she wasn't his thought to be unalive wife Tristan. Hands down CREED was my LEAST FAVORITE CROWNE male member mainly due to his behaviors towards folks that had nothing to do with what happened to his wife, & he superseded Jedidiah/Jackie D-who'd previously held the title before I heard CREED's story- for that title. Though I'm glad (Spoiler Alert!) Glo turned out to be Tristan in the end, I have issues believing what occurred actually would've occurred in the way it had been written. At any rate, I'm relieved CREED finally received his HEA.
When I say Sherelle Green wrote the heck out of this book, she wrote the heck out of it. All of the secrets that were contained in this book certainly had me on the edge of my seat. Creed met his match with Glo. I loved their back and forth and the passion between them. Creed went through a lot but finally was able to somewhat become the man he was with Glo's help. I love the way the author always keep us wondering what's next when we read her books. You can also expect connections that you never saw coming which will have you shaking your head in amazement. With this being the last book in the series, I definitely wasn't disappointed by the story. As always, Ms. Green kind of hints what might possibly be coming next in this book and I can't wait.
I have been waiting for this story and it didn't disappoint. Creed has been MIA since he lost his wife and his mind. When he tried to take care of a job, he didn't handle it right and kidnapped a woman in the process. Trying to protect said woman, had feelings for her he didn't understand, until he saw who she was. When Glory found out her true identity, she was devastated and wanted nothing to do with Creed, but the longer she was around him, the more her soul felt his. This was a great way to end the Crowne family, even though they will show up again.
Oh my Creed is the most intriguing man, his determination to take out all those involved with killing his wife was exciting. Glo is one the baddest chicks who didn't know how she became to be currently. The Crowne is awesome and I love their tactics of getting the job done. The experiences that they all endured in life help to mold them into strong and no nonsense people. Sexual and Human Trafficking needs to be stopped and this series helps to bring horrible offense to light. Thank you for this!
I loved being with Creed again. What a man. Creed had done so much he knew eventually he would have to pay for his deeds. He was mourning Tristan but this woman Glo had him confused that he was being called by her presence. Creed was fighting to get vengeance, would he put his bitter feelings toward his family and work with to accomplish his goal. Sherelle, excellent job with Creed's story. Can't wait to see what's next.
This book was amazing. It was the perfect finale for this family. I loved that questions were answered and demons were slayed and the love was felt and given throughout this book. I always wondered if Creed would find his happily ever after once he lost Tristan and this book gave him that and then some. I would highly recommend this book and this entire series. I can’t wait to see what comes next from this author.
I normally don't skip over series but Creed was my bae from the onset and when he hurt, doggone it so did I. When it was announced this book was going to be released I stopped everything I was doing to read this book! Now I need to go back and read the other books in the series but when I say the author owes me nothing, I mean it! Oh my gosh Creed is everything and the twist was beautiful!!! Love truly prevailed!
Creed’s story was everything. Discovering the what you once thought was not true. Conquering the devil on the right and left. Fighting for your life, love, and family. In screed we Trust had everything that made you laugh, cry, and question what you thought you knew. Seeing him open up to really hearing what Duchess had to say. And uncovering he couldn’t do it all without his siblings and their spouses.
Yessss this family, this series OMG is the best. I was on a roller-coaster ride it was like watching a movie. yesssss love ❤️ it oweeee sherellle Green didn't come play she's the best yesssss I couldn't put it down. I had been so busy at work once I was able to relax and read this beautiful 😍 story of romance adventure..... had to take my time with this one because the crowne family is forced to be reckon with love ❤️ 😍 them yessss loved it ❤️ 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾💃💃💃
Creed has been feeling so much anger. He sees a woman that looks like his wife that died a couple years ago. He learns that she is his wife’s twin.
He later discovers that it is actually his wife. She was resurrected and has no memory of anything before the time she “died”. She’s engaged and everything.
Even through she doesn’t remember creed she has a pull towards him, and leaves her fiancé.
She gets kidnapped on her way back to creed. They find the ringleader and end the trafficking.
