This is NOT All That Great a Book, and has a Weak StoryLine

The Author introduces a fantastical Time Travel capability; it’s repeatable, but hardly any different than a good, solid dream. The mechanism for the Time Travel is also left as vague as possible, which makes all the jumping back and forth in time highly suspicious.

And, even tho The Author tries to convince The Reader that you can never change the main flow of time — The Author totally ignores his own timeline, and makes stupid jumps back and forth, back and forth, researching changes in-between, then when everything SEEMS normal — goes and makes a few more jumps.

The Author’s rationale here is crazy, and an antithesis to his plot.

I also take issue with the Time Travel being so specific to the person doing the jumps … it makes no sense that such a fantastic capability would be desperately linked to 1 person or family.

Good read.

It started somewhat slowly but soon built up to be a ripping good time travel tale. The story was a little slow getting started, primarily because the verbiage was oddly constructed, as though the many colloquialisms had been translated by someone whose experience with Parisians was limited. Still, an imaginative, well thought-out time-travel tale. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The premise of the story was interesting but there were too many situations that the major character, Dorian, finds himself in and gets out of, that make it impossible for the reader to suspend belief for the entire novel. I had trouble finishing it.
