Contained within this rare book is a wealth of material pertaining to the practice and teaching of acting, focusing on the seminal Stanislavski Method. A fascinating and detailed handbook, it constitutes a veritable must-read for anyone who assumes the role of teacher apropos method acting and will also prove a valuable reference to discerning students of the subject. The Stanislavski Method also informally known as method acting was contrived by Konstantin Stanislavski and has provided the foundations for modern acting, having been studied and adopted by some of the most famous actors of all time. This book has been elected for modern republication due to its immense educational value, originally published in 1947 and proudly republished now with a new prefatory biography of the author."
Couldn't finish because it was very long-winded and dull. The old-fashioned writing style made it hard to read. I'd still like to learn more about the Stanislavski method of acting, but maybe from another source that is more reader-friendly.
