An informative little book with good pictures and a varied selection of building types to explore. A couple of nice details: 1) Each entry tells you the materials the building is made of. 2) There is a glossary of architectural terms at the back of the book.
A very good book - I particularly like the introduction by George Clarke which I found I could identify with. I think there should have been an honourable mention for the Palladian Bridge at Stowe as it is the same as the one at Prior Park which is mentioned. I also enjoyed the article in the recent National Trust magazine about this book.
Nice little book. Obviously it can't include all of the amazing buildings of the national trust but slightly surprised that two of the most iconic (which are included in George Clarke's intro) are not in the book - Kinver rock houses and Cragside.
