About the author

Marie Powell’s castle-hopping across North Wales to explore her family roots resulted in her YA historical fantasy Last of the Gifted, with Spirit Sight (Book 1) and Water Sight (Book 2) to date. Among other degrees, she holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Creative Writing from the University of BC. Marie lives on Treaty 4 land in Regina, Saskatchewan, and her writing workshops are popular across the region.

Part of the Amicus Readers Word Family series, "That Cat!" is a short and simple early reader book with high quality photographs and accompanying large print, easy to read text. The text is non-informative and more storytelling, detailing the antics of a pet cat named Nat. Nat the cat steals a hat, hears a rat, spills his treats, and knocks over a baseball bat and water dish.

Shelved in the non-fic 428.6 section of our library, this book is categorized as a Primer (Readers)--English language and focuses on the word family "-at." The "-at" words are highlighted in bold print.

This book is about the family cat. A big focus is on spelling. Most kids with pets will be able to associate with the pet/family situation

3.5 stars A nice little early reader focusing on "at" and "cat" Also funny about how cats really are!! THAT CAT!!?? lol
