[Grinning Cat]

This is a collection of poems by the cat “Prof. Fuzzy McMittens”, as recorded by Seamus Mullarkey. Although it’s billed as humor, most of the poems are sweet rather than funny. Most of the titles are hilarious, even if the poems aren’t. But there’s nothing wrong with sweet and cute. Funny poems include poems 7, 14, 16, 22, 24, 28, and 50. Number 27 was particularly cute.
The poems themselves are problematic. The style is inconsistent from poem to poem. Some, rhyme, some are free verse. Number 25, “The Countertop Haiku” isn’t a Haiku at all. Within the individual poems, there are meter inconsistencies and the rhyme patterns are messy; perhaps the most egregious example is the titular poem, poem 3, “All those places I could pee”.
There were a couple of poems that stood out. Number 50, “The Psychic Cat”, is cute and funny and really well done. And even though the meter, rhythm, and rhyme scheme are strange, number 24, “A Veterinary Tale, or Why I Won’t Get In the Carrier” is a riot.
This book is not offensive. It’s just not particularly good. There are seeds of something better here; the poem titles are mostly very funny. But the poems themselves need a lot of work.

This is a great choice for cat lovers. Normally I'm not so much of a poetry fan, but I make an exception for the illustrious writings of Fuzzy McMittens! The poems themselves are relatively short and each has a whimsical drawing to go with it.

It addition to the titular "All Those Places I Could Pee" which I think most cat owners can sympathize with, there are purely funny ones but also ones that show a real insight into the mind of a cat, such as "I Hiss Because I'm Scared" and "Who Is This Other Cat?".

No doubt any one with a cat will find some poems in this book that resonate with them. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed this book of poems. It was fun reading all of the poems within all of them made me giggling to. They all had a cat likeness to them.

I enjoyed the illustrations throughout this book. The illustrations went along with the poems quite well. It explains the poems a little bit better by have illustrations.

Super cute and clever poetry from the POV of a cat. I wanna give this book a 3.5, simply because some of the poems were extremely clever and some were just like oh, um, okay. 😂 I definitely think this is a good, super light read to have, especially if you’re transitioning from one tough novel to the next. So if your brain needs a break (and a laugh), this is a good book to go to. :) otherwise, don’t bother haha

Anyone who owns a cat is aware of the pleasures and trials of living with them. Fuzzy McMitten has created a book that encompasses all the joy, and intermittent terror. From the hugs and cuddles to the litter and hair balls; it is all there. You are sure to recognize the joys and terror.

I don't quite know what to think of this book. I'm not a poetry person, which is ok, because these were not great poems, but they were entreating. They exemplify cats to a tee. The poems all have titles and they are purrfect. If you have a cat you might enjoy reading this on, just to see all the stereotypical things cats do with a little humor.

Pretty Good For A Cat

Many of these poems were quite funny. Cat lovers can relate to the nocturnal, superior beings who won’t let you work, read or sleep. It’s been awhile since I’ve had a cat and these poems brought back some found memories of my little Xena The Warrior Princess.
