On April 15, 1912, the "unsinkable" Titanic went down, taking 1,500 souls with it. But what if that sinking was no accident?
Cut to the present: Senator Everett Van Wick survives an assassination attempt, thanks to a small-town doctor. But now, the doctor knows too much and becomes the target himself.
Cue EDEN BLACK. What starts as a simple rescue soon becomes a high-stakes conspiracy led by the senator’s reclusive father. But, when Eden learns that a relic in the bowels of the stricken ocean liner holds a clue to the Van Wick’s shady success, she knows there’s only one thing to do.
From the British Museum to the ocean's darkest depths, and finally to the clandestine passages of the Van Wick Estate, the TITANIC DECEPTION is the latest pulse-pounding chapter in the Amazon #1 Bestselling Eden Black Archaeological Thriller Series.

If that sounds like your sort of thing, in your choice of books at least, then come with me...
Hey there, I’m Luke Richardson, and I’m applying for the job as your next favorite author!
As an Amazon bestselling author, I've had the honour of sharing my stories with readers all around the world. Whether you're a history buff, a travel addict, or just looking for a little excitement in your reading, my books are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat.
I write books that take you on a journey to foreign and exotic places, blending history, adventure, and suspense into a gripping tale.
In my books, you'll find yourself transported to places like the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, the glitzy skyscrapers of Hong Kong, or the shady backstreets of Kathmandu in Nepal. But it's not just about the locations; my stories are also filled with fascinating characters, unexpected twists, and edge-of-your-seat action.
It was visiting India for the first time that actually made me want to start writing. The sun had just risen as we landed at Mumbai airport. The taxi journey that followed was one of the most incredible of my life. I watched the city unfold like a story. People washing, children playing, chickens, cows, goats, all beside an eight-lane motorway.
I love sharing my stories and am proud to say that my books have been well-received by readers and reviewers. One of the greatest compliments I get is when people say that my books transport them to a new place. Although people often comment on the loveable characters, intricate plots, and fast-paced storytelling too. And I'm always working hard to bring you even more thrilling adventures.
So, if you're looking for a page-turning read that will take you on a journey to far-off lands, look no further than my books. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!
You know I love this authors books and this being my 14th and 4th in this series I knew I was in for a good read What I like about this series is although it follows an archeological theme every book is so so different and although the title is enticingly revealing it does not give away the crux of the book, the theme of which was very different indeed to what had gone before As always its a full on fast paced read full of adventure and a take on something we all know about via history…..it really does make you wonder, (especially as life has evolved and secrets made known) just what really did happen to the Titanic I liked the humour that appeared as well and shall remember the lightbulb joke for future reference amongst other little gems This author never fails to please and is reassuring when I pick one of his books up that a good story is held within, this one did not disappoint. As always I look forward to Eden’s next adventure but if you have never given this writer a go please do 😎
A great addition to the series. The development of the main characters feels natural and they are well drawn. The story is a thrill ride from the beginning and draws us into a conspiracy of epic proportions, which the perpetrators will stop at nothing to keep hidden. This will keep you on the edge of your seat until the thrilling finale.
I absolutely loved THE TITANIC DECEPTION! So far, every Eden Black plot, character development, and dialogue is tighter, more realistic and more exciting than the one before! Great series. I reviewed a free Advance Reader copy of this book with no strings attached.
The fourth book in the Eden Black series takes some decidedly different turns than even this talented author has attempted before.
What secrets does a relic lost on the sunken Titanic have to be solved? Eden and her team go from the depths of the North Atlantic, to the American Pacific Northwest, to London being pursued by the hirelings of a reclusive rich family who feels the relic is rightfully their own. There’s also a bit of formidable superman building in the family’s legacy to test Eden’s skills to the limits.
Another madman with designs on ruling America and the world, living forever.
Ludwig Van Wick and his sons, Everet and Thorne, have plans to rule the world, and achieve immortality. Insane? Yes, probably, but it's a functional insanity! The family has been manipulating their genetics for years, to be stronger, smarter, live longer, healthier. Due to the discovery of a remarkably preserved body of a woman. It was determined that her longevity and preservation was due to the presence of a compound called Xero + in her blood and tissues. Using this compound and nanobots to bolster the genetic manipulations, he and son Thorne were treated. Thorne was a huge specimen of ugly appearance, the treatments successfully giving him enormous strength and endurance. Seemingly fatal wounds healed quickly the only downside seemed to be Thorne's lumpy and brutish appearance.
Eden Black and her father, Alexander Winslow, became aware of the Van Wicks when Thorne tried to kill Dr. Hunter because he knew too much about their genetic condition. Eden and Athena (bodyguard and sidekick) save the Doctor and thought they had killed the giant a-hole trying to eliminate the good doctor. But Thorne shows up again soon, swollen, bruised and even uglier, but fully functional even after falling hundreds of feet into a gorge. But now the race is on! Stop Van Wick at all costs!
Great characters, great storyline, altogether awesome! This is a great read!
WOWSERS, If you want an action-packed explosive archaeological thriller ride, then look no further than The Titanic Deception.
Eden, Athena, Baxter, and Winslow are back for their most daring challenge to date. On that fateful night on 14th April 1912, the unthinkable happened, and the indestructible RMS Titanic hit an iceberg and sank, causing the death of over 1500 people. But what if other forces were at play and all that perished wasn't an accident?
Eden and the crew are set the challenge of discovering ' The Lady Of Leone' from the wreckage. But they aren't the only ones that want this precious lady!
Que the bad guys. Ludwig Van Wick Senior and his ancestors have guarded a secret for over a hundred years, and nothing will stop Van Wick from keeping it that way. Now, there always has to be a henchman, and Thorne is most definitely one of the best I ever read. Boy, is this guy strong, and just when Eden and Athena think that they have gotten rid of him, he turns up like the provable bad penny!
This is a deliciously wicked action-packed read from the prologue (and who doesn't love a great prologue). To the brilliantly crafted twists. Bravo Mr Richardson, and the Eden Black crew!
Review of the Titanic Deception by Luke Richardson
Somewhere in the bowels of a British Museum resided the Lady of Leone. Fortunately, she resided in a special freezer, kept as frozen as she had been in an ice cave 30 years prior to her coming to the Museum.
A museum in the United States had asked, not politely, to study her and thusly she was shipped, although reluctantly, in a special box engineered to be water and air tight and to keep her properly frozen for the trip. So she set sail for the US upon a huge ship, perhaps the greatest ever built, with many assurances that the ship would keep her safe. The name of this grand ship was the Titanic.
If you have read other of Luke's books, you will not be surprised to find that Eden Black and her friends, some hundred years later, become involved in the mystery of the Lady of Leone. That Lady, who aboard that fated ship, now lies at the bottom of the sea. This is not surprising as adventure follows Eden wherever she goes, whether she is taking a ski trip or participating in finding an archeological treasure
If you have not read Luke's other books, buckle up; you are in for a grand adventure in this, the Titanic Deception.
As a writer Luke Richardson adds details, sometime almost unnoticed by the reader, that make a story come alive and make the reader feel present in each scene; the reader can be watching and listening to a conversation, feel the chill of a wintry day, or fly in a helicopter with a daring pilot
This is a marvelous read that can be read as a part of a series or as a stand-alone story.
The Titanic Deception - a review by Rosemary Kenny.
An Eden Black Thriller by Luke Richardson, The Titanic Deception is an exciting alternative version of what brought about the great vessel's loss - in a 'what if...?' tale by the master story-teller, that then continues in a riveting series of amazing situations which I guarantee will grip you firmly by the imagination throughout.
Multiple timelines, (some of which are decades apart) reveal one ever-increasingly shocking discovery after another, by different groups. Eden Black works with Athena, Baxter and Winslow in tense, breathtaking situations to protect the innocent and survive their enemies' attacks. The final twist leading to the grande denouement will surprise you for sure.
A must for fans of Lara Croft, Indiana Jones, Mission Impossible, James Bond and of course the epic film, Titanic. Grab a copy as soon as they hit the bookstores - and tell all your friends not to miss The Titanic Deception by the brilliant imagination of Luke Richardson!
Having read all the books in this series, I was eagerly looking forward to this book. It started out strong and I was hooked from the first chapter. Unfortunately, the read soon left me disappointed. Don't get me wrong. There is plenty of action, surprises and interesting twists that I didn't see coming. All good news! So what went wrong? The humor, for one. I know the author is British and I am well versed in that kind of humor but some (a lot) just didn't make sense. OK. I can live with that. But what I really struggled with was the editing or lack of it. Missing words drove me nuts and pulled me out of the story as I worked to fill in the blanks. There are other examples but I think you get my drift. I think the author might have been up against a deadline and did not have time for a final polishing. Finally, a few things didn't make sense like when Eden smashed the villain in the face with her knee even though he is a LOT taller than her. Not sure I'll continue with the series even though I do enjoy the storylines.
Four books in and this one almost took the cake for the best one so far. Tying in this book’s missing artifact with the Titanic caught my interest from the beginning. The settings, action scenes and twists in this one are all good and the villains are the best and most menacing in the series so far. Eden and Winslow’s relationship continues to grow which is one of the best parts—I’m still captivated by the reveal of Eden’s origins in the previous book which is one of my favorite parts of the series so far. I can’t remember if it was revealed yet, but I am eager to learn where Eden has received all of this hand-to-hand and firearms training she displays in these books. I felt like the humor in this one got a bit much at times and I noticed lots of errors with grammar and the like. My top book so far is still Giza Protocol for its big reveals and more of a treasure hunt-like plot. The story of the next book, Templar Enigma sounds very promising.
This is a thriller to rival the finest of any I have read. Mr. Richardson has crafted a series that dovetails into each book that follows creating a growing relationship between the reader and the characters. Eden Black is a loner and a woman whose origins are shrouded in mystery...Her father, an archaeologist thought dead, has reappeared in her life and as their relation continues to grow, she now finds herself with friends and colleagues she is becoming quite fond of....albeit unwillingly. A woman of many talents and little patience, the central mystery surrounding much of the series remains, who is Eden Black or perhaps even "what"? Her father who is not her biological father does not have that answer and at this juncture, nor does she. The next book in the series is still a number of months away and though I have it preordered, I may be bald before it arrives! This series is an exceptional one!
Having read all of Luke Richardson's books and thoroughly enjoyed them all, this is the first one that I have dropped a star in the rating. The Titanic Deception is a good read but spoiled by the number of errors. As one previous reviewer noted: "Missing words, extra words, incorrect words. The reader is racing along devouring an exciting scene, and is stopped short by having to decipher a sentence with a missing word. Kind of spoils the flow". I totally agree. At the 50% mark I had almost started proof reading instead of being absorbed in the story. Even the author's notes at the end have mistakes! Did Luke or anyone else bother to read it before putting it into print? A good Eden Black adventure and well worth a read, just hope the misprints are not continued in the future.
A thrill of a life-line! Fast paced & non-stop hazardous creepies u won't want 2 put it down.
Super sleuths you are in for a huge dip from ice cold shivers throughout the ages; twists, winds and careens,... Oh, wow, could it be that diabolical? And yet without a doubt -- the hazards of perception towards the end you won't have seen rapidly barreling non-stop. The question is are you ready? Reading this book has been terrorizing in and of itself; but oh so wonderfully worth all the chills. The speculation rampantly sweeps the readers immersed mind around and through a maze of intrigue. Yet with tremendous fortitude striving not to 'cheat' skipping to the end. Such a fine read with a mix of history, archeological mountainous terrain and diabolical psychotic narcissism. The powerful non-stop action doesn't stop,... PottsvillePA_12072025.
Shades of Frankenstein’s monster - a giant of a man who cannot be killed. Pretty frightening stuff, and a very weird family doing very odd things. One could have nightmares dreaming about the house of horror with the underground laboratory performing all sorts of weird experiments. Scary stuff.
Once again, a fantastic ride, with Eden and Co doing the impossible. I have to ask “when do these people sleep, and do they ever run out of energy - not to mention toilet breaks?
Plenty of action, a lot of fun, but do not swim in the Thames in case Thorpe still lives among the fishes!
Just finished The Titanic Deception. I bought it as soon as it came out as I had enjoyed the other 3 Eden Black books. The books certainly kept my interest even if they sometimes stretch credibility. I know they are fiction but sometimes they go a little too far for believability. But I absolutely love the research that goes into the books and the way fact is woven into them. Will now try another of Luke’s other books and look forward to another Eden Black.
Eden is brave, resilient, crafty, a smart and quick thinker and very lucky. Diving to the ocean's depth for a relic in a submersible, getting locked in the sub while everyone else in board was kidnapped fighting a monster and dealing with his father, saving lives just because are just a few of Eden's escapades. Having a father that loves her and friends/family that care for her and she for them makes Eden someone you want to know. Great job. No dull moments. Thank you. Also Author Notes to die for, love them.
Only knocking it down for the amount of typos and a little disappointment at the end. I do not mind Eden and company letting people live, I just wish they took plastic zip ties with them and used gags. It seemed like this one was a bit more bloody and deadly than usual but sadly no worse than much of the news right now. Had to read it in one day, because I wanted to know how it ended. Looking forward to more adventures.
A couple of notes: 1. Easy and fast read. Good for Pure entertainment. 2. Unfortunately, it read like a second rate Clive Cussler novel, even using his Titanic story line, although with a nice twist to the cause of the sinking. 3. Nothing to do with the author, but the quality of the ebook was quite poor, with misspellings, misuse of words and punctuation. Looked like an AI editing job.Disappointing all around.
A thriller? Yes. Disjointed start before it settled down into Eden vs the bad guys with some help from Athena, Baxter and her dad? Yes. Interesting expose about the Titanic conspiracies. I marked it down because of the disjointed start and the spelling and syntax grammatical errors in the book. A simple spell checker would have eliminated them and I found them distracting (especially as a Virgo).
Eden Black is back investigating the sinking of the Titanic. The ship hit an iceberg and sank, but was there something else that helped it sink. A relic that holds secrets that went down in the Titanic, a senator that survived an assassination attempt that puts the doctor that helped him in danger. A captivating thriller that keeps you reading.
This is the best book in the Eden Black series so far, it has a great plot that mixes historical facts with incredible fiction and "what ifs". Mr. Richardson's stories are addictive, always fast-paced, well-written, and always leave the reader thinking who the culprit is, what their reason for committing the crime and how will Eden solve the case. Engaging! I thank Mr. Richardson for this ARC.
Loved the conspiracy theory laced book and fast paced action. Definitely found it difficult to put down.
Only thing that let this down is the editing or checking before publishing. Too many grammatical errors, missing words or just plain incorrect sentences making it quite difficult to read at times.
Interesting premise turned into a preposterous story. The first chapters, regarding the mountaineering and the museum work were fine. As soon as Eden appeared everything went downhill really fast.Ridiculous characters, ridiculous actions, ridiculous dialogue and atrocious writing. I almost got to the end but it was so bad I gave up
Disappointing in both story line and believability. Lots of holes that were left unexplained. Still confused about the Thorne guy, and the lack of Titanic in a book supposedly about Titanic. It had an extremely small role which was odd. There's still so many questions about small things that I think were supposed to be big things, (the marble????) it left more questions unanswered than answered.
That question alone is what enticed me to grab a copy of this book. And I was not disappointed. Tons of twists and turns, plenty of action, a cool villain. Definitely my favorite of the series so far!!
These books just keep getting better. They are quite complex and hard to categorize. The characters and thrilling plots drive the series, but there are elements of the paranormal and science fiction as well. I can never wait for the next installment. Great book.
Hurray for this Eden Black novel, for it is fantastic ! I love Eden and Baxter, and in this story the bad guy Thorne was enticingly intriguing. The novel also gives us a different view of what happened to the Titanic, I really enjoyed that. It’s a keeper !
The story is great, fast-moving, and interesting. The editing does need work. It’s very distracting to run into words that don’t belong. Reading the Kindle version is reading a draft of a speech to text book.
Absolutely fantastic just like the previous books, full of action, humor and interesting conspiracies from history. I love how these stories keep you anticipating every next move Eden Black and the team are going to make and what they may run into next.
From being chased across the pacific to the Titanic. Super bread humans and a doctor who was in the wrong place at the wrong time. As always great story writing from Luke
