Probably my favourite of the trilogy, this is one of the best books I've ever read.
It's been at least ten years since I've had some of the same reactions that this book gave me-- I laughed out loud, I gasped, I needed to take a break and go for a walk because I was too invested and was freaking out.
It has everything I want in a book: charming characters, moments that make me laugh and cry, supernatural elements, suspense, twists and turns, and a slow, pining romance between two characters that are not supposed to be together.
What a wonderful ride these series of stories has been.
However, this fic series(and this one in particular) is the exception. The imagery and the plot are spectacular; just the descriptions alone are god-tier. Bexless manages to show the character's deepest insecurities, even ones that aren't visible.
Also, the parallels to the second fic- Frank jumps in to save Gerard like Gerard did in the second fic. The rosary and the crucifix burning Gerard. It's a masterpiece. I think about the scene where they realize Zapatan was trying to recreate the events of their Saint's namesakes- the feeling of horror is unmatched.
Also, the ending- perfect. 10/10. This is one of those fics that lives inside of you forever; the ones that fundamentally change your brain chemistry. I don't know why I didn't read it sooner.

the parallels to i have been all things unholy. UGH!!!! also oh my godddd bexless knows how to write horrifying realization scenes SO WELL!!! like realizing their saints/angels/biblical figures correlate to their fates… THE SCENE WHERE U REALIZE GERARD DIDNT TRY TO HELP RAY WHEN DROWNING AND U KNOW HE CAME BACK WROMG BUT ITS FROM FRANKS POV AND HES BEING CONTROLLED SO HE CANT SEE THATS WHATS HAPPENING…….. UGHHHHHHHHHHH. also the last sex scene is peak idgaf idgaf
ugh i think this is my favorite of the trilogy. i knew gerard would be coming back after his death, but the way the grief of the band is portrayed is so successful and heart wrenching that i felt their pain with them, even with my surety of gerard’s life. it was beautifully done, and mikey and frank’s relationship is so very moving. i love frank and gerard’s relationship so much. everything is written so beautifully. rpf tends to feel voyeuristic and exploitative, but this feels more like a story of its own, taking inspiration from the band members and turning them into new characters. i loved it a lot, thank you bexless.

Actually criminal that is this the best demonic possession novel I’ve read in years and the main characters are just My Chemical Romance members. I was genuinely freaked out during the demon scenes and shocked by how violent and cruel the entity was (fully had to put this down for a day after the hanging scene; that was brutal). The main romance in this is also SO slow burn, which I appreciated (they’re finally together by the very end of book three, but I love that it took 150k words to get there). I apparently will be reading the last two entries of the series and then just trying to find anything else as good as this bandfic.

there is something very funny about me staying up til 4am reading this whole thing, passing out, then waking up to find out i passed the bar exam and am now a licensed attorney. i like to think this is a wholly unique experience lmfao.
um anyways yeah this rocks. never thought i'd be saying that about gay catholicism-based my chemical romance fanfiction but here we are... the first installment remains my favorite, but this one was better than the second one imo. overall tho i had a ball in this bitch fr. excellent choice of media to consume while panicking about bar results!
have to skip the end of this one because it reminds me that it's based on real people and isn't just a very cool and well-written story that caters to multiple of my special interests and i did not want to read that smut. aside from that i actually think this is one of the best story arcs ever written.
4/5⭐️ Obviously I read this cause i’m a my chem fan, but honestly the plot of this series was just so interesting and executed veryyy well. One of the better ff i’ve read. The first book was definitely my favorite. This book felt a little unresolved but i’m content with this series.
