Drop the keyboard!

If a rapper finishes off a competition by dropping the mic, do authors drop the keyboard? I’m not sure, but if you read all the way through the authors’ notes at the book’s end, you’ll understand my question.

That being said, let’s talk about the rest of the book. Hmmm…. Or not…. You see, in her author’s notes, Sarah describes this as her favorite book for a multitude of reasons, all of which are completely valid. However, I would offer an outside viewpoint.

One of Sarah‘s greatest strengths as an author is her ability to combine deep “life lessons” with fantasy and frivolity in a seamless package. Her best works always find her characters facing tremendous opportunities for personal growth, and it’s in their reflection upon the situation that she couches the wisdom she has learned from her own life. The best part about this, is that she doesn’t seem to do it “intentionally“. In fact, I would go so far as to say that if she TRIED to do so, it would come across as fake and flat.

Of course, if you asked her, I have no doubt that “wisdom” is the last word she would ever use to apply to herself or her experiences, to which I say, “IRRELEVANT!”

Regardless of the reasons why, this book is clearly Sarah’s writing at its best.

Half human, half witch, witch hunter and demigod, this is Rose’s adventure and it continues to enthral and captivate in this latest addition. Exciting, thrilling, this series pulls you in with an incredible and addictive storyline and has characters that you just cannot get enough of. As Rose and Elvis struggle to take down the Shadow walker coven, more problems and questions arise as the baddies work out how to pause time and take down the House of Fourteen. Rose continues to grow and learn more about herself and what she can accomplish as her friends and family also weigh in to help with the mission. It’s an incredible read and I absolutely love the Beaufonts and this world that the author invites us to visit.

This latest book in the Undoubtable Rose Beaufont series, was well worth the wait!

Rose, as usual, seems to have a whole long list of things that need to be done, before she can get to the one thing she really needs to do but, of course, she has Elvis, her Chimera, besides her, to cheer her along and, as is his wont, to make life ever more confusing!

I loved the various tasks that Rose has to do in this book, and that each one involved ever more difficulties that, ultimately, has Rose knowing herself even better.

She still faces huge problems to come but, now that she has London by her side, I'm sure that will help her to cope more, with the loss she had to go through herself.

It's hard to say just how much I enjoyed reading this book, without giving away too much of the plot, but this book really is the penultimate one, in a series that has spanned the waking up of a very special person, in Rose and, reading of her growth, in both spirit, and the job that was always meant to be hers, was wonderful.

Another aspect of this story that I really loved, was seeing the influences on the author, to the places that she has visited recently.

She really brought Spain, and especially Barcelona, to life for me, with her wonderful descriptions of those places that she has so recently enjoyed.

It came out beautifully in her words, and especially in the person of Gabriela, and it painted the most wonderful of pictures for me to enjoy so vicariously! Wonderful stuff!

I've already preordered the next book in this brilliant series so, until I can read that, I'll be going back to read the ZOO series that's kept me occupied over the last weeks, if not months.

According to my chronological reading list, the next Zoo book to read is: 'New Rules for Idiots', which is book four of the Dead Evil Mercenary Corp.

So, I'll catch you on the flip side, when I'll let you know what I thought of it!

This book ended too soon for me. I was amazed that Rose had the nerve and the faith to try and kill herself 3 times. The first was the worse though. That took so much courage and faith to step off that 6 story building. Once she'd done that then she knew her guardian angel would save her during her next 2 attempts. I was hoping after this that her angel would be with her the rest of her life to give her help and encouragement. It's a shame that she found her angel and lost her at the same time. I liked that she said London was so important to her future. I've always felt they belonged together both as partners in the war and also romantically. I'll enjoy seeing their relationship blossom. I believe that the new breed of magicians will be the children of Rose and London. I may be wrong but I'm hoping I'm right. That would be awesome. I can't wait to see the two of them irradicate all the witches and warlocks of the world. (What will they do when there's no more witches and warlocks to get rid of?) That's a mighty tall order. I want them to get Mefora behind bars. She's been on the loose too long. I was hoping when Rose had her in the House of Fourteen that she'd let Paternus do his job and finish her off. Rose is too soft sometimes when the idea of killing presents itself. She's had several chances to kill Mefora and always holds back. Mefora keeps getting the upper hand. She won't be able to stop time again or get back into the house of Fourteen at least. That was a terrible thing. She could easily have killed all the Councilors and Warriors while they were incapacitated. Luckily Rose at least was able to stop that. Plus, she learned who was helping her which I really was interested in and why he'd helped Mefora in the past.

Love the series

I have read this whole series so far and I love it. You have written so many books already and I am holding my breath that each book isn’t the last because I know it’s coming. There are so many adventures just in each book that it is hard to put down and I still feel like multiple characters have so much to do before the very end. I am hoping for more love story and growth between Rose and Landon because they are supposed to be together in the end and it feels so slow. You can’t jump from just baby steps of a relationship to knowing this is the person you are with forever. I hope Landon gets his own chimera soon. Again, there is so much that is going on that this series could be stretched and the books would still be amazing. Please don’t rush it all. I love the characters and their developments. It has been a joy reading Rose’s story with laughs, sadness, and everything in between.

Way Wordier And Not As Exciting

I have truly enjoyed all of these series up to this point. However I found this particular book to be rather dull, surprising since the subject matter could have been quite interesting. It seemed very repetitive in many spots like it was more about word count than actual storytelling. The same points could have been gotten across without the chapters, literal chapters saying the same thing over and over.

I will still read the next book and hope that it will get back to the fun (and sometimes serious) action that readers have become accustomed to.

I prefer to read multi volume books where all of the volumes are already written. I've been reading The "Beaufont" books for a little while now (Liv, Sophia, Paris & now Rose). I was hopeful that the next in the Rose Beaufont books would be completed before I finished this one (number 6). Silly me! So I have to wait. Sarah Foffke is a wonderful, prolific writer. I've enjoyed immersing myself in her world.

Hard times

Rose and Elvis need to find a way to stop the Shadow Walker Coven from pausing time and destroying the House of 14. She also needs to find her fairy godmother and help her Aunt Liz on a mission. Things are never easy in the world of magicians. I love the characters in the Beaufont series, they are all fun and a little crazy and they along with the storylines make you hate to put the books down.

great plot, great story, but…

I really like the setting, the plot, the creativity and most of the characters. But the dragon sidekick is like the Jar Jar Binks of this book (and others in the series) and almost makes them not worth reading because he is soooooo annoying. I find myself just skipping over any dialogue involving him, however, and then the book is much better.

The end draws nigh

Another Beaufont series drawing to a close and although the author says this is their fav written so far I did expect something slightly different. This still has 5 stars, however, as the humour of the characters does shine through as we see a Beaufont save our world again.

Wonderful and engaging series, always enjoyable!!!!!

Congratulations to Sarah Noffke and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and exciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories. I’m really looking forward to the next book.

The feared witch hunter by Sarah noffke. She has just found out that she had a bigger destiny than she originally thought and is kind of losing her mind. To fix this, she needs to take a detour, which helps her find her way. Also, I liked how the other halfling/demigod was brought on her adventure, and the banter between him and Elvis is laughable at the best of times

I really enjoy these books each one is a stand alone story but the continuing saga of the Beaufont family makes you want the story not to end. In this book Rose ,our heroine, is a lot more confident in her abilities but still seems to be finding her way. I love the interaction with her sidekick Elvis and with her family. looking forward to books 7 and 8 which I have already pre ordered.
