Claire Montoya is a member of a Christian group called The Elect. Similar to the Amish but very focused on Old Testament type rules and regulations for their salvation although they believe in Jesus. When their senior Shepherd is brought up on charges of raping some of the young women, the sect begins to fall apart. That is when Luke Fisher steps into to turn them to a new kind of religion, but little do they know that Luke Fisher is not the person they believe he is. Meanwhile Claire Montoya is torn between Luke the Evangelist and Ray Harper a crime investigator and unbeliever.

I did find Claire somewhat naive in the beginning but enjoyed seeing the changes as she grew in her confidence and faith. The Elect was more like a cult than a Christian group in my opinion. Well written, quick and easy read with a nice ending.

Another book about a group like the FLDS. Taken in by an evil man pretending to be godly. I did enjoy reading as he got his "come-upance" as they say.
