Your Data is F**Ked : For Marketers: Digital Analytics, Strategy and Personalisation

Rate this book
Your data is F**ked. Here is why and how to fix it.

Your data, reports, insights, and dashboards are totally F**ked. At least, it feels that way. You are not alone. Many other marketers are in your boat.

Good data = better marketing. We all get that, but by knowing our customers, we can offer more personalised communication and have better conversations. We can understand what is working in our campaigns and what isn't. With automation, communication can be scaled, highly effective, and highly profitable. With AI, it can be turbocharged, and with the right models, we can confidently predict the future.

Customers want and expect you to know them, but they also don't want to be stalked, spammed, chased, cajoled, and generally bothered without permission or reward for their attention.

The frameworks, exercises, and strategies in this book are designed for you to go back to time and time again; the concepts are easy enough to follow for anyone new to this increasingly critical and once specialist-only area.

This is a book for the frustrated, dazed, and confused containing everything you need to know as a marketer or decision-maker to hold your own and understand why your data is F**ked and how to fix it.

This is a book for digital marketers of all creeds, but if a family member or friend has casually and repeatedly assumed that you 'do SEO' – and you don't – this is probably the book for you.

The issue of F**ked data is persistent because it is a symptom of a much deeper set of challenges. Let's start by understanding the problem. Let's go get a coffee and pull up a chair.

Introducing "Your Data is F**ked, for The Ultimate Guide to Personalisation and Popular Growth Strategies", a comprehensive guide to help marketers navigate the ever-changing digital marketing landscape.

Author Mark McKenzie has combined strategic frameworks and popular growth marketing methods to provide readers with a wealth of knowledge and practical advice. He shares his personal experiences and his own dark sense of humour towards marketing, and the industry, making the book an engaging and entertaining read.

Readers will learn about frameworks like the;
Analytics Maturity Curve,
The Power of One,
The Pillars of Personalisation,
The Wheel of Growth,
The Risk and Readiness Review,
Reporting and Dashboarding Strategy.

With this knowledge, readers can create their own basic Measurement Plans, Solution Designs, and Project Plans and hold their own ready for the next big Google Analytics update or adventures crossing 'The Gap.'

The book delves into integrating the right MarTech Stack, balancing considerations like data sovereignty, in-house or off-the-shelf, and real considerations to be wary of before investing in the next big tool. It tackles questions like, "Should you get a CRM or a CDP, and what's the difference?" Is the DMP dead, and what's with all these bloody acronyms?

This book is for marketers of all levels, small business owners, and senior leaders. It is a small life raft on a turbulent sea of Chat GPT, the death of 3rd Party Cookies, Google Analytics 4, customer privacy lawsuits, and the end of marketing as we know it.

Mark believes in making complex topics accessible and interesting to all audiences. He has deftly dissected the deeper reasons why your data is f**ked up and what to do about it, ensuring readers understand and enjoy the subject matter.

This book starts by summing up a sequence of actions by external parties that have left your data in bad shape. There are also corrective action we omitted to take that hasn't helped matters.

But take heart, McKenzie empathizes with our situation and who lays out in the book the steps needed to generate positive financial returns for our analytics investment. Read this book's blueprint, dive into its well-footnoted addenda, and fix your organization's marketing data.
