Take a bite, if you dare, and on the tasting, see what it is I see…
Presenting the second volume of a five-part horror collection straight from the unique, controversial, and dangerous mind of David Parkinson.
These are The Tales of Terror and novellas, novelettes, and short stories that explore the miraculous yet flawed and fragile flesh we wear through the medium of dread fantasy. They will take you to familiar places – to train stations and suburban streets - and to hidden sun-kissed islands, to the halls of hell, deep into the past, far into the future, and even across the galaxy. But wherever they send you, you’ll always return hooked and hanging, and deliriously dreaming of being bled just a little longer.

Tales of Terror and Torment Vol. 2 is just as good as the first set. Extremely well-written, these short stories showcase Parkinson's mastery of style and his dark imagination--a seemingly promising friendship takes a dark turn into into a kitchen, a hidden lab shields a scene of classic sci-fi dystopia that will no longer stay hidden, Vikings find what they wish they had not, and gluttony meets its gory fate. While the stories are unique, they are all bound together with twisted, dark, and deadly warnings, lessons learned far too late. Recommended reading.
This a great collection of novellas and shorts, five tales total. Para-Pharma was the highlight for me though all are solid in their own way. But Para-Pharma was one that I would like a sequel to (though I think the ending is perfect) for selfish reasons because I wasn't done with those characters even though its the longest tale by far in the collection. It deals with a Dr. Kite, a brilliant chemist, who is forced into a secret governmental research center. A center that is turning out individuals with unique abilities, abilities his mind can enhance and make better. Kite is a hard man to keep control of and he does things just to see what will happen, which in this environment makes things most interesting. Others deal with an unique young man who oozes confidence showing people he just met how he lives, a man who has done something terrible and his dream tells him what will happen, a great Viking short where a small crew finds a cursed island, and finishes off with a short Willy Wonka kind of tale with a new bubble gum.
Highly recommended, all the tales are well done and none overstay their welcome in fact its the opposite with a couple of them. Though again Para-Pharma is pure joy the entire read. The walking around and discovering all the different subjects at the beginning was great and then when you know Kite is meddling you just keep waiting to see what delights the circus will bring. This is the second collection and have not read a dud yet, just a fantastic writer.
