Lacey's Ghost

Rate this book
In Victorian England, widow, Lacey Bright, browbeaten by her overbearing sister-in-law, moves her son, Ralph, and her housekeeper, Mary, out of London to Cliff Cottage on the shores above the English Channel. There Lacey hopes to make a living painting. Only when they arrive at the leased cottage is she told the house is haunted. Owner and privateer to a former King, Maximillian Stern is now a ghost. He chases interested tenants away, wishing only to be left alone. When the widow won't be chased, she and the ghost clash. But an armistice between them is struck, with additional unusual encounters. Love grows between Lacey and Max during a mortal lifetime, and then extends into eternity.
