I was nineteen when I discovered my boyfriend’s father was a serial killer.
I stumbled upon his latest victim tied up in the basement of the house he was renovating, and it was my evidence that helped convict him to a life in prison. My boyfriend never forgave me for turning against his dad and a couple of years later took his own life. That was fifteen years ago.
I am now a local evening radio presenter, but it seems I can’t escape my past. Late one night, when I’m alone, the phone rings. The caller wants me to solve a riddle, and tells me a life depends on it.
‘Only you can save her’ ‘If she dies it’s your fault’ And so, the deadly game begins. Someone wants revenge.
The perfect read for fans of authors like Clare Mackintosh, Cara Hunter, and Paula Hawkins.
Hi, I'm Keri Beevis, and I'm the author of the bestselling psychological suspense thrillers, Deep Dark Secrets, Dying To Tell, The Sleepover, and The Summer House.
Other titles I've written include Trust No One, Every Little Breath, The People Next Door, and The House in the Woods (previously released as The Boat House).
I am signed with Boldwood Books and my twelfth thriller, Nowhere To Hide is out 2nd April.
Probably the best prologue for a book read, had me transfixed and OH ing and Ewww ing, just a brilliantly dark and twisted start that had me agog And the rest of the book followed suit, a real open mouthed read ( for a lot of it ) and points where you are like ‘noooo, I haven’t just read that, it/he/she/they cant be......can they? To tell anything of the story would give things away so all I will say is it is about the past, nastily and scarily catching up on the main character....and she did nothing to deserve what is coming her way Brilliant characters, a budding romance plays alongside the horror of what is afoot and an ending that I thought I worked out, hadn’t then was blindsided by the truth and a great epilogue and an even better end end page Superb, will make you shudder, laugh, shake your head and most of all enjoy this brilliant read
EVERY LITTLE BREATH is a psychological thriller by Keri Beevis. This was a brilliant book! I loved every part of it!
This unsettling prologue will grip you right from the beginning. Here we are introduced to the serial killer…not by name but by a set of instructions, that tell the reader how to catch a victim, and dispose of a body and not get caught. Written in the first-person narrative, the reader feels the killer is talking directly to you.
“You can not afford to be sloppy.” “Find your target, watch for a bit, make sure she’s alone.” “Incapacitate her quickly and quietly as possible.” “Drive slowly home where you can Play with Your New Toy.”
I was hooked! I had to keep reading.
This novel is divided into two parts: all the things that happened to Casey and how they would affect her future. In the second part, Casey finds herself in the center of horrifying murders, and doesn’t understand why.
The story opens with nineteen-year-old Casey Fallon, who has just returned to Norwich from university, and needs to put an end to her relationship with her controlling boyfriend, Gareth Noakes. She deserved to be free. She goes to his parents’ house, Steve and Julie Noakes, to confront Gareth. But when she rings the doorbell…there is no answer. Casey discovers a tied up, blindfolded naked beaten-up woman in the basement of the outbuilding. But when Steve comes back in the room, Casey hides, unable to help the woman, but flees for her own safety and calls 911. PC Finn Murphy is at the scene and reassures her.
Steve was arrested and charged and Casey now had to avoid Gareth, as she is now a witness along with the surviving victim.
Now thirteen years later, 34-year-old Casey is moving into a top-level apartment, outside of the city, with her beagle, phoebe. No men. She liked her own space and freedom. She worked at a radio station taking over the late show.
One night while working at the radio station, she receives a phone call …a phone call that can change everything…
‘Only you can save her. If she dies, it is your fault.’
When radio presenter, Casey Fallon, answers a call she assumes it is a prank. But then a woman’s body is discovered, and she finds herself up against a cruel and calculating killer who wants her to find his victims before they take their last breath.
Fifteen years ago, Casey was a key witness in the trial of serial killer, Steve Noakes, and her evidence helped put him behind bars for the murders of five women.
Someone remembers what happened that summer. Someone who is desperate for revenge. Someone who won’t stop until Casey has been punished.
The game is just beginning…
If you love reading psychological thrillers, this novel will show you WHY!
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the author, and Bloodhound Books for my digital copy.

Just when I thought I had it all worked out, I was wrong. This is quite a chilling read, it's tense and kept me on the edge of my seat. There are some really good twists. I really liked how the game of cat and mouse played out. I was pulled in from the prologue. Everyone was a suspect. The ending wasn't what I was expecting at all. I could not put this book down. I read it in one sitting.
I would like to thank #NetGalley #BoldwoodBooks and the author #KeriBeevis for my ARC of #EveryLittleBreath in exchange for an honest review.
I feel so very betrayed. The synopsis sounds amazing but instead I get a sappy romance story in the middle of what could have been a good thriller. Nothing in the synopsis led me to believe this book would be about a couple of 30 somethings behaving like teens. Seriously, at age 16 I didn't blush half the times this woman in her 30s did. At some point a dog jumps on the girl and her skirt goes up and the guy can see her underwear and she blushes and... Why am I even reading this? I picked up a book to read about a maniac serial killer. Not this teen melodrama.
Totally lost my patience. Skimmed to see who the culprit was. Meh.
The book has everything I like: a psychopath and a strong female character. But the love scenes.... were too much. Honestly, it turned into soft porn. And that is not what I look for in a thriller. Leaving half of those scenes out would give the book a readonable length. As for the female lead role.... she acted more like a teenager not a 30 something woman.
Sorry guys, this didn’t work for me, but it might do for you
“Don’t go into the basement!” This is something that I am sure we have all screamed at a protagonist on television, knowing for sure that the basement hides something that no one wants to see. This is how Beevis’s new, and arguably darkest of novels begins. From such an explosive beginning, the novel kept me hooked throughout, desperate I was to see how events would unfold.
I have read all of Beevis’s books and enjoyed each and every one. However, the writer seems to have taken her story-telling to a new level in this novel. It is a dark tale, a game of cat and mouse as Casey appears to be forever-haunted by her past. Despite knowing that Noakes remains in prison, it is clear that someone knows of Casey’s involvement in his arrest. Whoever it is, they seem to have in-depth knowledge of Casey and her actions, making Casey certain that someone is watching her – she just cannot prove it.
Elements of this story strongly reminded me of Beevis’s other novel, Dying to Tell, particularly with the romantic interest. Casey cannot help herself, although readers are left wondering whether this attachment is a consequence of her feeling unsafe and threatened by her mysterious predator. Furthermore, the narrative grows more complex when Beevis introduces a secondary, sub-plot; this seems to be a part of Casey’s troubles but I found it difficult to keep them separated. For me, some of the sub-plots merged together to make a ‘mega threat’ for Casey!
I really enjoyed Beevis’s story-telling and could not have seen how the story would develop. The revelations had me shocked and I found myself as tense as Casey herself as more clues are revealed about the mysterious character. Furthermore, the scene that Casey describes right towards the end of the novel had my toes curling in horror. I was convinced it was a reality and was shocked at the darkness that the story had descended into! It felt wrong but right, on so many levels. Without being able to recover properly from this, Beevis throws in another curve ball in the closing chapter and I could not believe how the writer finishes the story. It was completely unexpected but fitted the intensity and drama of the narrative.
This is a great piece of suspense writing. I feel that Beevis goes from strength to strength and I think this is one of my favourite of her books so far (even though they have all been given 5 stars!). I loved the psychological twists and turns that Beevis takes her readers on; it is a journey that I sure won’t forget in a hurry.
With thanks to Bloodhound books for providing me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book is like a really good sandwich with tomatoes & I can't stand tomatoes
It hooks you from the start, hard. I was really excited to find a book that kept my interest & didn't have me thinking about my main chick JD Kirk & allowing my the ability to entertain a side chick (this book)
As always, a mistake that has left me unsatisfied
The crime writing on it, I enjoy a lot, it's intriguing & well done & creepy & chef's kiss . The romance? God gag me. Let's go over the typical crappy "romance" book checklist every author has decided is the absolute dream - pushy men . Check . - men who don't take no for an answer & it's "sexy" check - damsel in distress who has a tough exterior who the big strong man wins over. Check - knowing absolutely nothing about each other & going off lust & limerence & calling it love. Check
- A man who says I'll give you time & space to think about it then holds her clothes hostage when she's in a vulnerable situation to get what he wants, is pushy, minipulative, disrespectful, insulting, & never listen to no, (but swoon, he just makes her laugh 🤢🤢🤢)
This book feels like it's written by two different people, I dragged on parts, about the relationship & Casey's dumb life ( I'd put it down & fantasize about my time with JD Kirk & how I could just pop in to one of those books for a minute, but I knew I'd never re visit this if I did) then I'd get re hooked & so into it when it concerned the killers sections .
Knocking it a star cause the main character is SO damn unlikable . Should've just had the killer do her in, in the beginning & saved me a ton of annoyance Someone said I bet you can't write a book where every character is unlikable & this author said "hold my beer" Had my hopes raised when I thought Finn actually died but dropped that bar hard when nope, the possessive narc gets the hard exterior, afraid of emotions, then almost dies & it all changes damsel in the distress 🙄 Rooting for you Gareth in the next installment, go get your girl ! 🔪

“Every Little Breath” by Keri Beevis is a great psychological thriller with some nasty characters spun in between the nice ones! The clues are there in plain sight to whom the culprit is and I realised pretty fast who to look out for! Saying that I really enjoyed the book, the relationships made and broken. I look forward to reading more of the authors books.
OMG! What have I just read?? Keri Beevis is a new-to-me author and if her other books are as exciting as this one then I must get my hands on them! EVERY LITTLE BREATH is the perfect example of a "just one more chapter" type of book. I simply could not put it down. From the chilling prologue to the jaw-dropping breathtaking epilogue and everything in between, EVERY LITTLE BREATH had me completely absorbed until the very end. I cannot begin to get all my thoughts in order and put into words as to just how bloody brilliant this book is!!
The prologue is so chilling and dark it immediately pulls you in as you are given a glimpse into the world of a prolific serial killer. The use of the first person narrative gives you the feeling that he is talking directly to you as he pulls you into his world. It is simply...chilling.
The story begins with nineteen year old Casey Fallon, having just returned to Norwich from university during break, and she is rehearsing the words in her mind that she intends to say to her boyfriend of four years, Gareth Noakes. She feels his attention is suffocating, texting her constantly and always wanting to know where she is, who she's with and how long she'll be. Despite being her first in many aspects, Casey knows the time has come to end their relationship. Wanting to get it over with, she stops by his house and rings the doorbell...but there is no answer. And then she remembers the house his father, Steve, had bought and the two of them were renovating together, so she drives there. The van is in the drive. She knocks. No answer. She walks into the house, calling for Steve and Gareth. No reply. Seeing the outbuildings she makes her way out the back yard but they too are empty.
And then she hears something. A sort of moaning. Maybe one of them is hurt. She sees an open door and steps leading underground and she enters tentatively whilst calling their names. But what she sees when she walks into the room chills her to the very core. A woman, naked, laying on a table. Her mouth taped, her hands and feet bound with cuts and bruises over her body. What the hell is this?? Casey rushes to free the ties that bind her, telling her she will get her out of here. And then...she hears whistling. Steve. She puts everything back in place, assures the woman she will get her out and then runs to hide. When his back is turned, Casey stealthily makes her escape back outside and runs to her car. But the trauma of what she has just witnessed has left her shaken. She manages to start her car but in her panic to leave she crashes into a tree before she could leave the property.
Breathe, Casey, breathe. And then she calls 999.
The police arrive and take Casey away for questioning. But the whole time she is worried about the woman in the bunker. A young PC, not much older than her, assures her that the woman is safe, that Steve Noakes has been arrested and the team are now investigating. Steve, mild mannered fun loving Steve. She would never have thought it of him. But when the police dig up the property and find a further three bodies and two more in the woods, Casey knows she helped save that woman's life.
When Gareth returns home to find his house cordoned off as well as the one he and his dad had been renovating and that his dad has been arrested for murder, his first instinct is to call Casey. But she isn't answering her phone. He texts her but she doesn't respond. Where is she? He needs her. He goes to her house but her brother refuses him entry. He knows then that Casey knows...and she's avoiding him. He tries her friends but no one will tell her where she is. By now, Gareth is raging. How dare she do this to him when he needs her now? When he does find her, he will make her listen to him. He just wants to talk to her. But Casey doesn't want to talk to him. It all becomes clear when she is the star witness against her father at his trial. As she testifies, his eyes never leave her. He will make her pay for this.
But two years later, after his mother divorced his father and married his half brother and moved away, Gareth strips off and walks into the ocean...never to be seen again.
Fifteen years after the event that changed Casey's life forever, she is now thirty four and has just bought an apartment on the top floor of an old Georgian building outside of Norwich that is closer to where she volunteers at East Coast Radio with her late night radio show. Her friends Zoe and Ricky are helping her move in as is her her brother Liam, who has driven up from Cornwall to help. But as Casey looks up at the building to her top floor apartment, she sees a face at the window. Someone is in her flat. But when Zoe looks up, the face has gone. Did she just imagine it? Was it a trick of the light? Or had someone really been there?
Over the coming days, she meets a few of the residents. Mrs Fletcher from downstairs who loves a gossip and the creepy Rupert from Number 7. But it's who occupies the other ground floor apartment that has her shaken. It's Finn Murphy, the kindly young PC who had looked after her 15 years ago throughout the investigation and trial of Steve Noakes. It would be something of a reassurance to have a copper in the building...if she hadn't made a fool of herself with him just after the trial and practically threw herself at him with a drunken kiss. The fact he'd rejected her left her feeling self-conscious and an idiot. And despite her unresolved feelings, she didn't particularly wish to see him again. Especially as a resident in her building!
But Finn was not to be swayed. Now a Detective Constable in CID, he mentally kicked himself for rejecting Casey all those years ago...though he knew it was the right thing to do at the time. Now he endeavours to make it up to her and intends on winning her around to the idea...no matter how much she fights him. And despite her attempts to push him away, Casey knows she needs Finn when the past comes back to bite her with a vengeance.
Late one night while hosting her radio show, she receives an email from someone who calls himself Steve (which alone spooks her) asking for a request and a mention on her show. She thinks nothing more of it...until she receives another email from him as she is locking up with a disturbing reference to her sleeping naked or with the very top she is wearing at the moment. It spooks her. But she puts it to the back of her mind...until she receives a phone call in the request half hour the following week with a riddle he wants her to solve. He has taken a woman and she has until 2.30am to solve it and save her. No police. No friends. Just her. Or the woman dies.
Of course Casey does what anyone would do in such a situation. She calls the police. The next day she receives a call telling her she broke the rules and that it was her fault the woman died. But his torments were not over. He called her at the end of the week with yet another riddle to solve and another woman's life to save. But how could Casey solve the unsolvable? She is never meant to solve them. He just wants to taunt her. But why? What has she done to warrant such attention? All she wants is to live her life quietly with her little beagle Phoebe.
As much as she doesn't want his help or attention, Finn becomes her self-appointed protector. Fighting her attraction to him is hard enough without him being with her all the time. But will he be enough to protect Casey from he who has his sights set firmly on her? Will they solve his ridiculous riddles and find out who is behind the tormenting calls? Why is his sights set firmly on Casey? Is he a deluded fan of her show? Or is he somehow tied to the past? Will he be able to lure Casey into his trap or will she realise the danger before it's too late?
OMG! Seriously OMG! You think you know what's happening but you don't. You think you know who is behind it but you don't. Although there were plenty of clues laid out in plain sight, I had a list of suspects of my own that I had to eliminate. I was half right and I was half way off the mark! EVERY LITTLE BREATH sets a neat little trap for us readers as well as for Casey that we easily fall into without even trying. We are roped in as an accomplice in the beginning to becoming a hero and before we know it, we are then set up to become the victim! And we cannot put it down until we have unravelled every little piece and solved the unsolvable riddle.
My only complaint is that Finn seemed like a completely different guy from the gentle kind PC he was who helped Casey in the beginning to the self-confident muscled "Detective Dishy" DC he became. It just didn't seem like the same person to me. But maybe the years made him more confident and he grew into himself more as a person and a police detective. Either way, it's just a small issue when you compare to how bloody good the entire book was. No contest!!
EVERY LITTLE BREATH is so bloody good. It is tight, tense, taut and electrifying. Every moment of this book is heart-stopping...but nothing will prepare you for the shocking and surprising twists that are to come! You may think you know what's going on but you don't...and when all is revealed, you will be left reeling. And then there is the epilogue...which is twisted on a whole other level.
A riveting and addictive read, EVERY LITTLE BREATH will twist every little breath out of you. The book is a trap. And we are the helpless victims. Enter if you dare...
EVERY LITTLE BREATH is a fast paced adrenaline rush that I highly recommend for anyone who loves a good psychological thriller.
I would like to thank #KeriBeevis, #RachelsRandomResources and #BloodhoundBooks for an ARC of #EveryLittleBreath in exchange for an honest review.
Unpopular opinion but this book felt like it was written by a teen. It was more of a “story telling” kind of novel rather than getting to know the characters and any depth. I did not enjoy this at all and admittedly skimmed through the pages from lack of interest. Just, no.
Omg the opening reads like a how to be a serial killer guide for dummies! So don’t go annoying me, as I now know the best way to bump you off!
This is only my second read of Keri’s books and after rating the last one five stars I perhaps should have given that a four (only joking) as this one blows that book away with ten tonnes of dynamite.
Her characters came to life on the page and were fully formed in my mind immediately. Casey reminded me of myself as a young woman living in Norwich, giving me an instant connection with her, so when she went to dump her boyfriend of four years and instead witnessed his dad about to presumably torture and kill a young woman I was invested in her doing the right thing and getting the hell out of dodge so to speak.
Enter policeman Finn Murphy, now I’ve heard the term book boyfriend/husband before (saves the expensive divorce costs of a real one) and he fits the bill.
He’s there when Casey needs him, he keeps her safe and feeling protected whenever she’s at her most vulnerable. How do you trust again when someone you thought you knew was hiding such a deadly secret? And what of the boyfriend whose dad you’ve just had sent down for murder?
Fifteen years later and Casey is a late night DJ for a local radio station when she receives a call she assumes is just another creep. Is the past catching up and can Casey save again?
This book will have you gripped, it will have you shouting with infuriation. You will go and check your door is locked, you will think twice about where you walk your dog. Nothing will feel safe anymore.
That’s even before all the twists and surprises the author has in store for you and an ending that will leave you feeling stunned and mouthing wtf!
I absolutely flew through this in about 24 hours. It was a fast paced intriguing and twisty thriller and I loved it. This drew me in immediately, the prologue is one of the best I’ve read.
The main character was likeable, the plot was very well thought out and I loved the inclusion of the bits from the killer’s perspective. I thought I knew who it was but I was completely wrong. The epilogue was as good as the prologue and an amazing ending to this little beauty! I haven’t read anything by this author before but will definitely be doing this now, and would recommend this to anyone who loves a good thriller!
The two stars are for the first third of the book, which totally lives up to the description of tense,, psychological thriller. Sadly it moves on to a romantic melodrama. About 200 pages consisting of Casey, now in her 30's, behaving like a 16 year old. We have her saying she doesn't want sex, describing said sex, complaining that she shouldn't have had sex, and on and on and on. An unbelievably long drawn out finale to finish off the killer, who, to be fair was not the obvious culprit, although, of course he did turn up at the end. I cannot understand how this book, which started so brilliantly managed to turn into such rubbish.
Fast and Gripping, It's a unputdownable read from the first page. Ping! Ping! Just one telephone call, how do you ever truly make someone disappear? Casey Fallon and Gareth Noakes after four year's together are on different path's, and Casey is ready to break the split as gently as she can. They can still remain friend's right? She's still young still at Uni and want's to be free to explore and have fun. approaching his parent's house no one is home and she knows Gareth and his dad Steve a builder are working down the road restoring another place they own and she see's his works van there so goes looking for him. But Wam Bam what she saw is not a situation Casey want's to be in, what she has witnessed and discovered she needed to get help fast. What sort of family has she been involved in? Police officer Finn Murphy advises her to go and stay with her aunt Natasha in Norwich until this is all sorted and not to contact the family, Why has Steve Noakes done this? and what will this mean for Gareth was he involved did he know what been going on? Casey Fallon's Life ahead is going to be one big roller coaster, with a new home out in the country and her night job at The East Coast Radio Station what else is there instore? This is one hot thriller that is going to give you chilling goose bumps, a psycho is playing games with her at work, it's not just a phone call it's a riddle leading to murder's that will freak you out big time. It's full of gripping murders happening and a touch of romance thrown in. I was hooked right through knocking me off my seat with a Epilogue ending that is going to leave you hungry for more. Keri Beevis has cracked it with this book it's a book to be picked up and read. I don't normally write long reviews but this has so much going on throughout, that leaves you thinking is there a next installment? Read it and find out for yourself!
I guess I’m the exception to the rule. 3 1/2 stars. Overall the story was fantastic! The reason for my rating is because it felt like a teen romance rather than a thriller at times. Don’t get me wrong, the parts that were intense were so well done. Unfortunately there was a lengthy amount of sexual tension between the two main characters. It was oddly written and droned on and on. I don’t care for romance novels, especially ones that sound like a 17 year old wrote them. Several hours could have easily been filled with more excitement or cut off of the overall listening time.
Another reason for a lower rating is that for all of the trauma the main character went through, she should have followed her gut at least a few times. Instead the word “stupid” was used a hundred times. Every instinct was replaced with “stupid” or “I’m just being stupid”.
Lastly, the phrase “psycho Steve” was used over and over again. To me it sounded immature and made the killer seem less of a threat. I was so tired of hearing it.
These are just my thoughts. Overall still a great read. Even a good ending.
I was hooked from page one. It’s not often that during the prologue of a book I actually feel as though I am being spoken to by a character who with each word, chills my bones This time I was. It soon becomes apparent that whoever this monster is, they have to be caught so when Casey starts to receive the creepiest phone calls ever, it’s goosebump time. She is in deep trouble, innocent women are in danger. In a nutshell, this story has everything. Probably one of the hottest male leads I’ve read in a long time, Finn is one of those characters you will want to see again. I loved Casey’s hidden fragility, from which came immense strength and bravery so as I cheered her on I feared for her life. The writing is so confident, the descriptive passages took me straight to Norfolk, the plot so thick with twists and turns that I was totally absorbed, desperate to work out who it was. I didn’t. But the ending is just epic. My final comment is this - don’t miss out on one of the best stories I’ve read all year, you’ll love it.
This was such an engrossing read. I cannot say anything about the plot as it twists and turns and I thought I knew the killer at least three times, but I was mistaken. That to me is a mark of a good book, where you cant guess.
The ending was just perfect.
Please just read the book you wont regret it.
I was given a free advance copy by the author and voracious readers but my review is my own.
I have seen a lot of great reviews for this book...but unfortunately I don’t think it was for me. I think this story could have been very good. However, it all seemed to get a bit ridiculous towards the end and I found the epilogue unrealistic. I guessed the murderer very early on, as there was a massive clue in the opening chapter! I did enjoy the characters Casey and Finn and the development of their relationship though.
I found the romance aspect to this book so dull and completely unnecessary. Really took away from the potential for a strong female lead, or if the author wanted to show the damage of what she’d been through in terms of future relationships, she could have made Finn less pushy as it kind of felt like she was falling for another obsessive guy.
Another brilliant book from Keri Beevis. I really liked how Casey’s past was explained at the beginning of the book, and then we moved on to the present day. It sometimes annoys me when books flit back and forth between past and present, so this format worked really well. We know that Casey discovered a woman who had been tortured in the basement of her boyfriend’s family home, and his father was found guilty and put into prison. Her boyfriend never forgave her for ruining his life so Casey had no choice but to move out of Norwich. When she’s getting settled on her new apartment she bumps into Finn, the policeman who helped her in the past. Determined not to get involved, she tries to keep him at arms length, but there’s a strong attraction there. Working on a late night radio show Casey gets a call from someone telling her he has kidnapped a woman and only she can save her life. Casey calls the Police but it’s too late to save her. Finn is not happy about Casey working here anymore but when the Police accompany her, he’s sure nothing will happen. However, the killer is not put off and takes another woman. Casey is also sure someone has been in her apartment but then wonders if it’s paranoia after the incident at the radio station. Events come to a nail biting conclusion and there’s more than one life in danger. I loved the way this all came together and highly recommend this book. Oh and I even got a mention in the acknowledgments which was lovely. Thanks to Bloodhound Books for the opportunity to read this book.
Keri Beevis, again, creates another master piece and they keep getting better and better. This is like reading the Sue Grafton books again but set in England by this wonderful author. Her plots are complex and the twists are surprising but not stupid and frustrating like Agatha Christie's were. Her characters are well developed and the dialogue is modern and believable. Get this book because it's the start of a series, no spoiler alert but the ending is a great lead in to the next book in the series. The best gauge to a good book? It was definitely worth the time spent reading it and in fact, I'll probably read it again because I rushed through it the first time and now I can go back and savor it more slowly.Every Little Breath
Keri Beevis’ new book 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 is a thriller that will trap you from the opening sentence. It rapidly ropes you into becoming an accomplice to murder, transforms you into a hero, and before you know it, the story sets you up to become the victim. After several hours, I am up to Chapter 39 and I am as scared as the heroine Casey ... I never saw the trap closing either.
This book is so good it could never be a movie. Tight. Electrifying. Riveting. 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗵 is Keri Beevis’ best work yet. Her wordcraft heightens the suspense and delivers a story that is grippingly told by this accomplished mystery writer.
So YES. This book IS a trap. Because you won’t be able to put it down.
"Most people think it is the disposing of a body that will get you caught. I mean, how do you ever truly make someone disappear? Unless you have access to a crematorium, it is almost impossible. A regular fire isn't hot enough, while acid baths might work in the movies, but you have to get your chemical mix right. And even then a body can take days to dissolve. Plus you have to factor in the stench it will cause. Pigs can chew through bone, but even they leave evidence. Same with your trusty, but very noisy and extremely messy woodchipper."
Ooh this one was good. I'll admit, I found the writing style a little choppy to start with. But by the end of the first chapter I stopped caring because the story hooked me in. I kind of thought that given what happened right at the beginning that the story couldn't go any further. How could this be happening at the beginning of the book? Surely this was an ending, right? How wrong I was. Not once did the story slow down or falter. I was kept guessing right until the very end. I thought I had it figured out early on. But I was wrong again. I really didn't see this one coming and that doesn't happen often. If you haven't already, go and read this one. In the meantime, I'm off to add this authors entire works to my TBR list.
Another dark, disturbing, page turning read oh my! Can’t decide if I love or hate Finn lmao. Thought I’d called the ending from early on but no sir, not this time. Phoebe and Bert deserve the world. Thinking I should read something potentially more lighthearted next….
Wow, another winner from Keri. This was an edge-of-your-seat thriller which packs a punch from the first page. I found I couldn't stop thinking about this book when I wasn't reading it and was desperate to pick it up again to find out what happens next. I highly recommend this one. My thanks to netgalley and the publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book in return for an honest review.
This was actually a romantic suspense with a tinge of police procedural and serial killer thrown it to increase the atmosphere of the book.
My second or third book by author Keri Beevis, I was in awe of this author’s talent as she made the genre roll in smoothly with nary a seam.
Casey was an RJ now with a past history of being a witness to a serial killer’s handiwork. Cue thirteen years later, another killer made their appearance, and it was all she could do to maintain her mental balance, especially when she was given puzzles to solve which would give her the barest of time to save the women. Whew. I tell ya it was sooo good.
I loved how the scenes brought those tingles of excitement in my heart. I had my theories about who could be the killer. The author gave me so many clues. And I went a step further to generate a theory about those theories.
I could barely turn the pages sequentially to get to the truth one page at a time. Blehhh… They should allow us to start from the end. I soooo needed to get to the killer.
Would you believe it? I enjoyed the romance too. The chemistry between the MCs prickled my senses. The book had moments of flirting and light fun along with dark moments when the killer made his demands.
I never felt the weight of the pages, and the book turned pages almost my itself, constantly. So happy that my theories were right. I would make a great Detective… Hmm an armchair one.
Keri Beevis never disappoints. Another brilliant page turner its probably not a good idea to start reading late at night as suddenly it’s 2am. It’s grips you from the prologue. This psychological thriller is in two parts, the first laying out the things that happened to Cassie and how they would mold her future. In the second She finds herself in the midst of horrific murders and can not understand why, she has a small circle of friends who help her and a male friend from the past that helps when the going gets tough. I don’t want to give to much away of the story as wouldn’t want to spoil anyone’s enjoyment of this fantastic book. The plot twists and turns and you feel as if your with Cassie and the twists at the end of the book are mind blowing. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good murder and thriller if you’ve never read Keri Beevis before now is the time to do so. To all her fans this one tops them all.
Wow! Every Little Breath by Keri Beevis is a perfect example of why I absolutely love psychological thrillers. I didn’t have to sit and think about my star rating for this. It’s an easy five stars from me.
This book captivated me from the very first sentence and kept me hooked until the last. There was no setting this book down. Thankfully, I started reading during the day. I couldn’t read fast enough.
I was invested in Casey Fallon almost immediately. Keri Beevis knows how to craft characters, good and bad, and make them feel like real people. It’s amazing.
Dark, gripping, with characters that will lead you through. On top of all that, a really eye-catching cover. Excellent! Highly, highly recommended.
