Absolutely beautiful book! The cover alone makes it display-worthy, and the photography, paired with stories about each bartender, bar, or cocktail, is stunning. I picked this up at the Nashville airport after our first visit, and it instantly kept the Nashville magic alive. Five nights wasn’t nearly enough to explore all the great food, music, and history, but this book gave me a solid game plan for next time; where to go for a good drink, good food, and good tunes (sometimes all at once!).

Some of the recipes are a bit beyond my home-bartending skills, but I’ve tagged a few to try starting with the Steve McQueen! I was excited to see there are more books in the series and already picked up New Orleans Cocktails. Can’t wait to dive in!

Nashville might be famous for its country music and honkytonk bars but Delia Jo Ramsey's new cocktail cookbook sets out to prove the city has some of the best mixologists in the country. This is a collection of recipes from some of the local hotspots. The book is broken up into areas of the town featuring profiles on bars/restuarants and some of the creators. Each entry includes a photo, glassware suggestion, ingredient list and easy to follow instructions. I loved that there are a wide variety of spirits with creative syrups (basil honey syrup, watermelon-shiso shrub) unique liqueurs (sotol or giffard piment d'espelette) or just fun toppings (candied country ham). This collection is creative and distinctive, think brown butter old fashioned, bruleed banana daiquiri or wasabi martini. I enjoyed the couple we have tried and can not wait to whip up some more, and now I have a list of places to visit next time I am in Nashville. I highly recommend adding this to your cocktail cookbook collection!

Nashville Cocktails is more than just a recipe book, Ramsey's writing brings Nashville's vibrant culture and American history to life—straight from the bars to readers at home. I was delightfully surprised by the historical focus of this cocktail book. I hadn't known how the post-Prohibition Movement affected the city and the Nashville liquor-by-the-drink tax rate. Ramsey takes a unique approach to sharing the art of mixology with several song references and drinking tips. I particularly appreciated the nod to local bars in each recipe with their address to illustrate an alcohol roadmap for those who love trying new places, traveling to Nashville, or looking for a good time.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review. Thank you to NetGalley and Cider Mill Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Oh, this book is so cool and I wished I could visit Nashville just to cross some bars off my list and to try some exciting cocktails - even the Killjoy bar/shop. This book is part cocktails, part history, part culture and it introduces you to some fun humans in the drinking industry.

I am not the biggest fan of whiskey but this book made me want to try more cocktails with it - plus I already know I love the Lynchburg Lemonade and it was invested here so...

Plus I love the saying Nashville is a drinking city with a music problem!

I really liked this and it’s nice to have some unique cocktails. I have sent the to my cocktail making person because I only do French martinis most of the time!
The photography and the history of the cocktails is a really cool addition and I am looking forward to tasting them.
One thing I would love to have added is a conversions page so if sold world wide it would be easy to look at mls or in shots term.
Thank you NetGalley for letting me read and review this book.

Cocktail recipes from restaurants and bars in the Nashville area. Many of the drinks are music themed. Great way to select your nighttime destination. Pictures of all drinks and most establishments. Although are recipes are included most would be better ordered at the bar. Read, drink, and enjoy.

Nashville cocktails did a great job of not only sharing great sounding cocktail recipes, but also sharing Nashville history. This would be a great book to gift this holiday season or the perfect book to pick up on your Nashville vacation.

Great gift book or for a coffee table or bar collection. It's got a lovely cover, maps of Nashville, beautiful photos of drinks, locales and scenes, and is quite a heavy book for being so small in size. There's a nice balance of history and drink recipes. It can serve as a tour guide as well.
