It was a cold night in November 2011. As we walked the prayer trail, I could feel the weight of our calling. We were praying and believing for a miracle.
I would soon learn that God's ways are not my ways. He would use a journey of healing sown through tears to deliver joy to this Moma's anxious heart.
Throughout this journey of parenting, much was revealed as I learned to trust. Surrender, a word that was taboo in my vocabulary, would soon become a way of life when I was encouraged to let go and let God.
Enjoy these confessions from me to you. I pray that you too will learn the beauty of trusting in the Father's heart.
Hi! I'm Eve, an author and encourager who loves words and The Word. I am a daughter of the King who believes in God's great Love and His desire to draw us near Him.
I love to take long walks through the garden of God's creation with the Master Gardener and find the little blessings He leaves for us. It is my prayer that you will, too.
My favorite things are playing board games with the Fam, singing sweet tunes of inspiration, writing, and helping others find freedom in Christ as they realize He loves them. My passion includes helping the next generation find Jesus as we encourage them that they were made for such a time as this. May we all bloom where we are planted!
"As the rain and the snow come down from heaven, and do not return to it without watering the earth and making it bud and flourish, so that it yields seed for the sower and bread for the eater, so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace;the mountains and hills will burst into song before you,and all the trees of the field will clap their hands."
I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway. The cover is humorous which is misleading, as the book does not include any funny stories. It is more of a "how-to" stop hovering over your children by trusting in God. I would have liked to have seen more depth from the author in her recounting of personal stories (like in her trip to Haiti or in her struggles with her son) - I feel like she really just scratched the surface. The book does have space for note taking as well as questions for reflection. The author seems very kindhearted.
Very interesting. It wasn't what I expected, I was hoping for more personal stories, but it had some great biblical insight on parenting and giving God the control. The last several chapters was really good.
