Boss,

I'm finishing my article about the Vance Memorial Hospital fire. No fatalities, although several people, including firefighter Lucia Vance and visiting wildfire expert Raphael Wright, were treated for smoke inhalation. I'm trying to stay unbiased--Lucia's a friend--but she's under investigation for disobeying orders, and I think Chief O'Brien is casting suspicion on her to cover himself. Word is he has some hefty debts. Raphael is only too willing to help clear Lucia's name--romance is brewing.

It seems as if the Vances are being targeted...but by whom, and why?

2.5 stars--LI Suspense--decent, but too long and too many characters that are getting difficult to tell apart in this series. Mystery isn't getting cleared up fast enough.

3rd book in the Faith at the Crossroads series.

Lucia Vance did not date. She had a ex-fiance that taught her that she obviously could not tell character and she had three older brothers to intimidate any man from trying to date her. And she was a firefighter not the dress up feminine type.

Raphael Wright also fights fires but as a hotshot.

He happens to be at the hospital when a fire starts in a janitors closet and he's there to rescue Lucia after an explosion.

Too many bad things are happening to the Vance's and Montgomery's.

And Lucia's boss, Neil O'Brien, is too intent on blaming her for the fire getting out of hand at the hospital.

The story is getting really dangerous now as the man out to ruin these two families is crazy and getting worse with each failure.
