Soooo good, I just finished The Silent Patient and the ending blew my mind, literarily couldn’t thought about the ending this way😵💫. ThanksAlexMichaelides for this piece of art.
full of plot twists and suspense. however, i did find the narrator highly irritating so much so i finished the book within a day to get it over with. the narrator is a psychotherapist therefore the entire book is built on the foundations of Freud, particularly the idea that if you are abused by your parents then you are ineveitably broken or eternally damaged. there was no attemept to challenge this perspective, infact the book wouldn't have worked if this idea wasn't asserted as truth. the actions of the villain are essentially justified by this theory which i found cliche and boring.
The twists and turns kept me turning the pages but towards the end I could see some dots joining and could predict. Gives nice perspectives of thoughts and characters.
psychological thriller based on true murder. Available Bayside
It was a very interesting and gripping book to read. The story was different and kept me thinking. The ending was unexpected, though I suspected Zoe was involved somehow. However, I was disappointed in the end, when I re-read parts of the book and found no clue that might have enabled me to work out the explanation of events. Thus I thought the story was a bit misleading.
