The story sends the reader on a journey of suspense as Marie, does her best to protect those she
cares about, and how she must deal with her current life as it clashes with her past. It's an excellent story of strength and the writing brings on a level of suspense. I found myself rooting
for Marie to make the right choice, and to realize that all her secrets would come out, eventually. The torment of Marie shows in the character's actions and thoughts. ‘Never meet those you idealise as they can never live up to what you dream them to be.’ I'm not a fan of cliffhanger endings but I found myself looking forward to what would happen to Marie next.

This is a truly amazing read, I was given the opportunity to do a review on this and found this to be a completely encompassing read.
This takes us on the journey with Marie as she travels back to her home and she revisits all the people from her past as she is trying to save those she cares the most about in the world. She is forced to look at her past while trying to figure out her future. This will bring you into the world of dance and wrestling, Marie's true loves and passions.

This is a highly recommend read.

Intriguing story about Marie a famed dancer who at the height of her career is facing a disastrous future that could bring her down and it's at the hands of her twin sister Layla and her book she insist on publishing. Layla just wants her claim to fame but the secrets she wants to reveal could not only hurt her sister and family but also put them all in great danger. Marie has to make a choice on whether to stay hidden in her safe corner of life or be brave and plunge herself into everything she is running from to spare her family. Great story with a very unique storyline.

The blurb of this book sounded interesting so when I got offered to review this book I jumped on it.
The beginning of the book was a little confusing to me, to many characters and to many events being recalled in order to get the reader up so speed to the story I suppose. But I found it rather confusing it was just a little too much cramped into the first chapter for my liking.

This book is some read it has lots of twists and turns which it quite confusing to start of with but when you get right into the story you get to know all the characters well. It was really good that the author put in Marie’s diarty entries in to the story so you know what Marie is thinking in her own head.

Marie is dancer who is running away from something big so the only place she feels she is safe is in Aberdeen where she is from and where her dancing career took off from. She has been away from Aberdeen for 7 years. She is very nervous to be back in Aberdeen because there is a lot of secrets Marie holds especially in Aberdeen. She felt the need to achieve and work in Aberdeen she also a huge star in in her town. Marie felt Aberdeen gave her drive and challenge her to her limits. Scotland was somewhere she created something good and Aberdeen might so much to Marie.

Maria does Street dancing her dance partner is Derek who is also Marie’s boyfriend. Derek knows Marie better than anyone she can be herself around Derek. Derek was not Marie’s first compete love though. Derek totally challenges Marie and made her a better person.

The dance crew Marie is with look out for each other and has each other backs. Marie made a lot of noise with the street dancing in Edinburgh, Glasgow and some parts of LA. Marie want to give the pop back into street dance world like Channing Tatum’s success in the movie Step UP. The nightclub that Marie used to love to go in Aberdeen is called Espionage which is owned by a great friend of Marie’s Alex. Alex hates outsiders especially the outsiders in the wrestling world. Alex used to street dance and his old crew where called Ultimate Males.

Marie know things were going to change a hell of a lot due to her twin sister Layla!!!. Layla just brought out a book which will ruin a lot of peoples lives including Marie’s. Marie was really worried because of this book that all her secrets would come out. She feels layla’s book will defiantly delights all her enemies.

Marie’s ex husband is trying everything in his power to get back into Marie’s life even if that means causing a total shit storm he will. Harold loves playing mind game and he is one hell of a bully he knows that he make Marie feel weak. anything I read something about him I wanted to slap him he was so infuriating. I totally think Harold is a prick lol and needs to brought down a peg or two. Harold owns the wrestling company WWIC. Where should I start with all the stuff between the dance scene & the wrestlers I think I will leave that one for you to find out when you the book. All I am going to say it some story line!!!.

Her father Charlie used to wrestle but Marie is worried due to Layla’s book it will push Charlie back into the ring. Marie doesn’t have a great relationship with her father. He left her and Layla at a young age so I think Marie feels abandonment by her father. There is something Marie can’t
forgive her father for it dose make you wonder what it is….

I am not to give away to much about Amber but all I going to say is she is Marie’s rock and always watching out for her…

I totally love these two quotes from the book. They gave me quite a giggle

Marie say to Layla
“How could You not mean to? What did you slip and fell on to his dick?”

Marie say to Craig
“Don’t even think about it, twinkle toe didn’t you not get enough in Aberdeen.

There is one hell of a cliff-hanger to this book so it will make you want to read the next book.

I must say I was surprised by this book , I was sucked in to Marie's story . She is a dancer , actress who has returned home to Scotland to figure out what she needs to do after the fall out of the scathing book her twin sister Layla has written. While in Scotland she is trying to rebuild her reputation and bombarded with memories of the man she loved once and thrown into his world . Will she survive.

I must say I started reading this book I kind of got sucked in the characters are well written . Marie is a tough as nails and will fight for her life and the lives of the people she loves . All her dreams are about to come falling down around her because of the book her sister , her twin wants to write . Maria fights her sister and we see them come to odds with each other . She clashes with all that come in her way. There are a lot of characters in this book that are all essential to the plot of the story They are well written and you will fall for a few of them and will hate others .

I must say this book takes a bit to get into , I found it a bit confusing at the beginning. Once you get past the first 2 chapters you will fall in love with this story . It has suspense and some romance . You want to keep you reading . The author doesn't give away a lot until last few chapters . The ending went differently then how I thought it would go . I mean Marie has been through soo much to have it end the way it did . I will tell you that it does have a cliff hanger . I can't wait to read book two so I can see how things are resolved . Over all I really liked this book and if you can get through the first couple of chapters with all the characters an back stories you are in for one hell of a ride . So strap on your seatbelt and hop on for the ride . I promise you will in for a great ride . Check it out for a great summer read by the pool or at the cabin on a rainy day.

Arc received by Amo's Book Corner in exchange for an honest review.

I don't know exactly how to review this book! I have a lot of mixed feelings.
To start with, there was a lot of characters and, honestly, I got so confused with it all. Chapter one seemed to go on forever!!

We start with Marie going back to Aberdeen, her home town for recouperation and rest followed by her dance partner Derek. The story is about a street dance crew and wrestlers. After a big argument with her twin sister Layla, Marie leaves and becomes part of a reality tv programme. Marie and her sister were the best in street dance until some big secrets got revealed by Layla who has written a book. She's got an ex husband, Harold, and an ex boyfriend, Robert, who was her first love and died. Derek is her new on the side, secret boyfriend, as she's still married to Harold who is the main man of the wrestling corps and a little vicious in all honesty.

The author jumps to and fro between the present and the past, so you're not sure where you are. There are so many names to remember in this book. At about 20-30% I completely lost the story. I'll be honest I had to put my kindle down a lot while reading this book.

This book had the potential to be a great book on the the whole. I did like the diary entries, the way the author writes them, it's like Marie is actually talking to another person with what she's thinking. The book does start to even itself out from the 65% mark and the book gets a little better hence the 3 stars.

This book was told in third person. I didn't like Marie most of the time, I didn't like most of the side characters either, which usually make a book for me. There was too much crammed into one book.

All in all this is a tale of revenge, backstabbing, love, hate, rivalry and secrets. This is a love triangle and also has a cliffhanger!!

When I first started Marie's World, I was instantly sucked in. There was no denying that Marie has a lot to deal with and I couldn't help but to read and find out what really was going on. I will say, this one does not give anything away until the last few chapters. I was guessing throughout the entire book, wondering what could be so bad that things were happening the way it did.
I did like this one gave a different aspect as to wrestling and dancing. I didn't think the two would really work since they're both so different, but it was interesting how they connected. I'm still unsure if I liked Marie or not. She does some things that make her seem like the bad guy in this book, but then again, she's only doing what she feels is right and protecting the people she cares for. Her twin, Layla on the other hand, seems to be out for blood.
I did find this book a bit confusing since there was so many characters introduced and so many back stories. It was hard to keep track of everything and at times, I really didn't know what was happening. I had to re-read paragraphs and go back a few pages to make sure I didn't miss anything. Some of the characters and back stories I felt weren't needed, but then again, the way it ended it might play into the next book.
There also was a lot left open and I found I didn't want it to end that way. Although the 'big secret’ kept me interested, I felt let down at the ending. I was invested in this book and maybe that's why I felt that way. I wanted the ending to go a different way since Marie has already been through so much. In all, it was a good read and something different than I'd read before. I can only hope that the next one reveals more and helps me understand everything.

After seven years Marie is finally returning home, being at home in Aberdeen made her stomach twist up. Aberdeen bred drive and challenged its citizens to go after their dreams. She had to keep fighting the urge to run. Layla wrote a book that told all the secrets. Marie has tried to break free of her ex-husband but she couldn't . Her father would never accept that she married a man that he hated. Marie's ex husband decided to make a movie off the book. Layla wants Marie in the movie, she wont do the movie until her sister asks her. Marie doesn't think that she can handle getting her heart ripped out again.
Marie she needs to protect the people she care about from Harold her ex-husband. she wanted to return to Aberdeen as a hero. She has a Scottish Mother and a Canadian Father. Layla is Marie's twin, doesn't have a good relationship with Marie. She wrote the book to protect Charlie their father. Derek is Marie's boyfriend, he did his best to pick up the pieces of Marie after Harold left. Harold is the owner of WWIC and he had owned Marie. He is very controlling, he will do anything to get his way.Amber is Marie and Layla's half sister. Perthin is Harold's brother and go to man. Charlie is Canadian, Amber, Marie and Layla's father.
This is my first book by Joe E. Legend and Kristal Mckerrington. It was very well written, I loved that the characters were well developed and I loved the story line. I also loved that I couldn't put this book down. I highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone!!

Like Marie, I am left in emotional turmoil.

A young woman, a very talented dancer, who has made the big time in USA, returns to her home town, seeking refuge, peace of mind, or escape from her estranged and angry husband? She is torn between her twin sister's welfare, her own reputation and, indeed, her own love life, which is definitely a shambles.
I loved the diary inserts, the captivating dance moves, and even the horrible wrestling thugs. Can't help wondering how it will all turn out for Marie in the next book.

I especially loved this one-liner from Marie when her sister admits sleeping with the wrong man:

“I never meant to...” Layla stammered, and Marie saw the
mess growing larger by the minute.
“How could you not mean to? What did you do, slip and
fall on his dick?” Marie’s sarcasm didn’t go down well as
Layla stared back at her shocked.

Marie goes back home to Alberdeen after being away for seven years, after her husband Harold has left her, it is there that she finds her twin sister, Layla has written a book, and now wants her sister to be in the movie. Derek is Marie's present boyfriend, and is doing his best to help Marie be the person he knows she can be, but life is getting difficult for Marie, once again.
Marie was a mess when Harold left her, but can Marie play the part in the movie and still move forward? This movie is going to set Marie back to where her life was the darkest, and she's not sure she can deal with that again, in all honesty can any of us got go back to the place where we we had the worse heartache?
I found this book pulling me in from beginning to end, and I look forward to reading the second book. I hope you enjoyed this book as much as did. Happy reading!

I was asked to review this book in exchange for my honest review. The synopsis is what initially drew me to this book and made me want to read it. When starting the book, there was so much going on, so many characters, that I had a difficult time keeping up and felt that some of it was just there as filler and didn’t necessarily need to be included.
I genuinely liked Marie but it did take me a little bit before I could connect with her, I enjoy books where women are strong and it took a while before I could see that in Marie. I loved that she worked so hard to protect those that she loves.
The book ends in a cliffy that will hopefully be resolved in the next book.

Joe E. Legend and Kristal McKerrington's "Marie's World" and "Marie's World: The Aftermath" are the first two books in the Marie's World series. It's a story about the dancing and professional wrestling worlds. There is an ensemble cast, and they do a good job introducing one character at a time so you can keep track of everyone. Each new detail is presented in turn, spiraling back, so you know more and more about each person. At times it has the feel of a WWE storyline and at other times it's a sophisticated dance. A true mix of dance and wrestling! I didn't want it to end, and maybe it hasn't!

While Marie's World takes a bit to get into, keep going it's worth it!
Thanks to her twin sister Marie is forced to return home leaving the life she's built behind in order to protect herself.
Marie basically has to decide if she's going to hide or if she's going to fight and protect those she loves.
That was the biggest draw for me, how protective Marie is of her family and friends.
The diary inserts were a great addition to the story, I loved those little snippets.
This is my second book by the authors, I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading more from them in the future.

Kristal McKerrington has taken a great idea and has made it leap off the page. She has created a world where you just don't want the story to end, you just keep on turning the pages. I recommend the book and hope to see far more stories from the author in the future.
