Simon Holley is the pastor of the King's Arms, a church in Bedford, UK, which has seen God move in remarkable ways. Here he tells the fascinating story of their church community's journey into faith and expectation. As he and others in the church learn to hear God and trust that he will keep his promises, they find themselves in exciting encounters with his power both inside the church and while going about their day-to-day lives. From many years of reaching out for more of God's blessings while keeping his feet firmly on the ground, Simon shares simply and honestly what he and his church have learned. Having journeyed with Simon Holley and the supernatural community at the King's Arms Church, Bedford, for more than five years now I am so happy to see this book in print. It is a template for the miraculous and living in the reality of the kingdom of God now. I know of no other person more qualified to write on the subjects covered in this book than Simon Holley. His insights and theological truths are matched by his experience of living and developing a people who are more aware of God's presence and his ability to act than they are of the possibility of defeat. These are robust, practical and deeply moving words which will change your life and your church forever. Simon Holley is the most authentic person I know and what is contained in here will leave you wanting more of God and greater displays of his power! This book is a must for pastors, leaders and anyone who wants to see heaven invade earth. Julian Adams, Founder of Frequentsee Trust, speaker and author

In Sustainable Power, Simon Holley issues a stirring wake-up call to the Church: we are not meant to settle for a polite, program-driven faith that lacks the visible, transformative power of God. Instead, we are called to walk in the same radical love, truth, and Spirit-led power that Jesus demonstrated—bringing His kingdom into our communities with justice, mercy, healing, and joy.

Drawing from Scripture, Holley unpacks the obstacles that block the “river of living water” Jesus promised in John 7:37–38. He contrasts the Pharisees’ self-reliance, judgment, and jealousy with Christ’s warmth and compassion, showing how pride, unbelief, and an “orphan spirit” choke the flow of the Holy Spirit. Rather than appealing to law, he urges us to appeal to our identity in Christ—raising up children of God, not legalists.

The book is rich in theology yet grounded in everyday reality. Holley shares powerful testimonies of healing, deliverance, and answered prayer—not from “superstar” Christians, but from ordinary believers who simply humbled themselves, repented, and sought the Holy Spirit’s filling. He reminds us that gratitude attracts more of God’s gifts, discernment builds people up, and laying down our right to understand opens the way for deeper trust.

Sustainable Power challenges complacency and replaces it with a vision for Spirit-empowered living that is bold, compassionate, and deeply rooted in God’s presence. If you long to see your faith—and your church—overflow with mercy, grace, justice, and supernatural power, this book is both a challenge and an invitation.

Sustainable Power, is a good read, and well written. It is a book that all Christians need to read. It touches upon every aspect of Christian life for the sake of building the Kingdom of Heaven. In essence, Simon Holley calls, and encourages Christians to imitate Christ. The theme to come out, and imitate Christ is discussed differently in my book, God's Cry to the Church.

Be warned! Sustainable Power is a book with many testimonies that will induce tears, and prayer. And that is a good thing.😀

Excellent book full of solid teaching and many testimonies that will lift faith. The book is well structured, with many labelled sections to help you keep track of where you're at, since there is a wealth of teaching in the book. It is one I will keep and refer to again and again. I encourage anyone who has a heart to see more of God's power released i. The church to read this book.
