Spirit of the Pryde

Rate this book
Someone is destroying buffalo from the neighboring ranches and dragging the carcasses onto Pryde lands. What could possibly be powerful enough to kill and move such large animals? Neesia Pryde and her sister, Niah, are determined to find and take down whoever, or whatever, is trying to set them up as the killers.

Jason DiCaplis, an agent for the Shifter and Were Armed Tactics administration, is ordered to fly to Pryde Ranch posing as a techno-weenie. His mission: keep the heat off the Prydes, dispatch a rogue Were, and do it all without exposing who he works for. The second he lands on the sprawling estate Jason comes face to face with the most beautiful and alluring woman he’s ever seen. Suddenly, he’s a sex-crazed, wild, rutting male. What could cause such an uncontrollable craving for a woman?

Well, Jason isn’t the only one with secrets…

**SPOILER ALERT **

I don't usually give away a story. Especially how short this one is. But ,I REALLY can't say I'm cool with the fact that man is going to to shared by all the sisters..... right after the oldest sister said she doesn't share. ! Smdh

This is an original review from http://bookedandloaded.com - I personally purchased this title. All opinions are my own and are not influenced in any way.

Spirit of the Pride by T.J. Michaels is the first book in her Pryde Ranch Shifters series. This novella contained much heat and a lot of fun.

Spirit of the Pride zoomed into the story and held nothing back. T.J. Michaels can do sexy with a capitol S and this novella was no exception. A secure plotline left me wanting more! Maybe to the point of being a little unsatisfied. I was enjoying learning more about the twins and shifter world they lived in, but did know it was a novella when I purchased it.

One thing Michael's never seems to fail at, realistic characters. Not just barbies living in their barbie worlds. THANK GOODNESS. Lately I have been craving diversity in my books and no I do not want to read books that cater towards bi-racial couples. I just want the world created in the book to be realistic. With people of all colors and backgrounds. Michaels remains a go-to author for this kind of realistic world building.

The only thing I did not like about Spirit of the Pride is just a personal preference. There was a scene with some sex in animal form. This is just not my thing, but it was done pretty well. I do want to remind everyone that this is an erotic romance and is a novella so it will not be for everyone, but if you want a short and super hot story you have come to the right place.

I rate Spirit of the Pride 4 out of 5 Bullets!

The story was filled with quite a bit of mystery and some confusion for the main characters, but mostly of their own making. I had commented in my review for the Southern Shifters Kindle Worlds book by T.J. Michaels that the editing was subpar, but that was not the case for Spirit of the Pride. There were a couple mistakes, but nothing that pulled me out of the story.

I will say that after the big reveal at the end, things got a little strange for me. But I suppose that life would be different for a family of lion shifters, things that seem weird to me are perfectly normal for them. Even with this bit of strangeness, I enjoyed the book quite a bit.
