Firstly I'd like to thank Christine M. Besze for giving me this book in exchange for a honest review

Some spoilers ahead:

The story revolves mainly around a young girl Katrina and her twin brother Jake whom are the key to stopping a centuries old war between vampires and werewolves. It was prophesized that once both were changed into either vampire or werewolf they would get there full powers (being born of a powerful witch) and the war between the two creatures would end, the winner being whichever creature the twins turned into.
This is all revealed by the two new boys at school whom both twins feel a strange connection to and whom claim to be in love with each of them. Now while Jake seems to take it in his stride, Katrina finds it more difficult to believe such things and it is because of that, that the werewolves might just get the biggest break they have ever had of turning the woman who has alluded them over the years. Throw in a centuries old love triangle and this book should have been right up my ally it had all the things I love in a book. HOWEVER..

The problem I had was that for a heroine Katrina was pathetic. She was the epitome of damsel in distress and throughout the whole book I couldn't get over how she was always either crying, fainting or saying she doesn't want to lose herself!!!! If she had given anything a thought she would have realized that she would have discovered who she really was by learning from her past lives and opening up to new things which included the idea of becoming a vampire especially after finding out the people who you care about most are now vampires. Why would you not want to be with them? Why would you want to be the only one who is left human?

If it hadn't been for my extremely curious streak and need to find out what happens in the end I definitely would have stopped reading after the first few chapters. It didn't capture my attention all and it felt rushed. One minute she was a normal human looking forward to getting out of a small town then she quickly learns about this whole prophecy and about vampires and werewolves. After about 47% of the way in it started getting good and I felt thankful I stuck with it. I felt like that right up until nearing the ending. The ending was horrible! Especially finding out that while you were barely surviving an attack at which horrible things were happening to you, your mother who was "recovering" from a car accident and who you hadn't seen in weeks was in fact now in love with your boyfriends dad and had voluntarily been turned into a vampire and so it seemed didn't have a care in the world while Katrina was being held against her will and almost forcibly turned into a werewolf. Since Cole, Jake and Andrew all came to her rescue why didn't her own mother? I'm sorry but that to me was ridiculous and I can't believe I'm saying this but for the first time I will not be reading the second book.

I received this book from the author free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

Christine M. Besze does an amazing job with the first book in her new Everlasting Bond Series. The book is about Katrina and her twin brother Jake, who are high school students. Katrina is convinced that they live in a dull, boring town where nothing exciting ever happens and she can’t wait to finish high school and leave town. Their dad passed away a few years ago and now their mom works long hours as a waitress at the truck stop restaurant and isn’t home very much, so basically they just have themselves for company. Then a new family moves to town and everything starts to change for Kat and Jake. Cole and his cousin Andrew quickly attach themselves to Kat and Jake and things start to spin out of control. Kat starts having strange hallucinations and dreams that contain herself and Cole over a hundred years ago. Then Cole tells her that her and Jake are what is known as “The Powers”, which is a pair of twin witches that will decide the outcome in the war between the vampires and the werewolves. This really freaks her out and as she uncovers the reasons for these dreams she is left with a serious life altering decision to make, will she be able to let go of herself enough to save the ones she loves and find her place in this world?

The author does a great job of creating real characters that pull you in and leave you wanting to find out what happens next to them. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what happens next.

I really enjoyed reading this book even though I am not a huge fan of vampires etc. The first half of the book was for me the most enjoyable as the characters in the story started to develop and become real and we learned about the close bond between Jake and his sister Katrina (aka Caroline). The second part of the story was filled with more excitement and action but to be honest Katrina was starting to annoy me just a bit. How she didn’t realise that the pain she was suffering from the amulet was connected to Donavan was a bit of a stretch. She started to be a bit dramatic about her feelings and the pain she was enduring (always wanting to vomit or faint). Also conflict over the possibility of becoming Vampire when everyone she loved was involved in that world was hard to understand but as there will be a follow up book perhaps her decision is being saved for that. The love story between Jake and Andrew was well written and I look forward to seeing that relationship develop further. I will certainly buy the next book to find out what happens to them all and to see how all the characters develop further.

Even though I didn't like it, I still want to thank the author for getting me the copy I read.

Where do I begin? As you can tell, I didn't like this. I honestly didn't even finish it. I made it 50% for the author's sake (and because I like to be far enough in that I feel I am making an informed review. Stopping before 50% seems opposite of that).

When I started this book, I didn't know it was a paranormal read. It wasn't in the description, and I try to avoid reading reviews until I finish a book so they don't impact my expectations. It was a little surprising to find vampires running around through this story.

I'm going to try to do this review without turning it into a list of grievances.

My biggest issue with this book was that I just couldn't get behind Katrina, the main character. She drove me crazy. She blew off her best friend time and time again in order to spend time with the cute new guy. To an extent, I get it. And Katrina is insanely lucky her friend was ok with it too, because I wouldn't have been. Also, Katrina is supposed to be endearingly clumsy and in need of rescuing. Your typical damsel in distress. But to me, it came off more that she was completely incapable of saving herself, even from falling after she kicks a nightstand. It was funny at first, but it quickly became not funny, and I just wanted her to get herself out of a bad situation just once.

Another problem I had was typical of many characters. They didn't seem to take serious situations seriously. Katrina was particularly bad about this, but Cole is guilty of it too. For example, there is a scene in which time is of the essence. They need to move. So what do Cole and Katrina do? They make out in Cole's car and completely forget what's going on around them. Seriously? If my life was in danger, I don't care how much you tried to snog my brains out, I'm not going to forget I'm in danger.

Both of these segue into my next point. The writing needed a lot of work, and I don't mean just spelling and punctuation. That was mostly good. Things just happened either too suddenly, out of character, or too obviously. The kissing I previously mentioned is good for the suddenly point. As for "out of character", I have one example that drove me nuts. Cole believes he knows Katrina from a previous life, so he calls her by the name Caroline all the time. Katrina occasionally makes a stink about it, and Cole changes for the rest of that chapter, but then he goes right back to calling her Caroline. If you're gonna date the girl, Cole, at least get her name right. And finally, for the "obviousness", the writing seemed to go too far in the way of "show, don't tell." Or not enough, I haven't made up my mind. For instance, we are never told that the school bell rang. No, someone always tells us, "Crap, there's the bell." It was maddening.

Ironically, I spent the first few chapters comparing this point for point against Twilight...and Twilight came out being the better of the two. Everything was matching up in some way. The instant (and I mean very instant in this case) love/lust, the vampire-werewolf rivalry, the father who is a doctor. Little things mostly, but it just started feeling like a cheap Twilight knockoff.

And I know Twilight isn't known for having realistic vampires, but the Cullens were more believable than these. At least the Cullens acted like vampires at times. Cole never seemed to have a vampire moment. They never seemed in danger of bleeding anyone, they never had an issue with sun, they just never acted like vampires. The only thing they ever did was some hissing at threats and a little mind magic. If I was going to read about vampires, they could have at least been believable.

I feel like this did turn into a list of grievances after all. I guess if there's one good thing I will say for this book was that I did start to lose myself in it when the action started picking up. When I stopped, there were certain points being put in motion that I think would turn out well for the story (though maybe not well for the characters). However, I just couldn't get past some of these points enough to enjoy it.

There was a really interesting and remarkably surprising paranormal storyline in this book. It's just a shame the intrigue didn't start until about 44% of the book had passed.

I'm all for paranormal stories, and I'm well aware it is increasingly difficult to write a story with such details, without being compared to other predecessors or slated for the same old recycled details. You see, Everlasting Bond takes a seemingly normal set of twins and gradually reveals an age old secret of magical mystery; with our typical werewolf and vampire friends.

I'll admit, I was somewhat intrigued but I had to dig through a mountain of insta-love and pathetic, boring dialogue from both Katrina and Jake.

Firstly, Katrina was a very weak main character. The point probably was that she develops into a kick ass heroine who saves the day, so she has to be weak from the offset for us to appreciate her, but she had no decent qualities. Whiny, pathetic and weak! Not the best starting point for a main role character. Endearing, I think not!

Insta-love. I don't think we've seen each other in a while, but here you are. I guess you haven't forgotten about me after all...
I just think this was my major issue with the book. As much as I loved the paranormal story (once it got going), I just didn't buy the romance! They were knee deep in romantic slush by about 16%. Yes, the background story explains the initial attraction, but if Katrina really had trouble believing the story she was being told, she wouldn't be so quick to believe she was in love! You can't believe half the story and not the other! She was very accepting to believe in vampires as well. I guess when you're confronted with it, you have to, but I didn't believe it at all. She sounded very blase about the important things and freaked out over the everyday nonsense!

Basically, I really wanted to enjoy this one, especially once it got into the flow, but you had to wade through a lot of story to get to that point. If it had started from the midpoint, it would be a solid three/four stars. So my main issue - the characters!

I received a free copy of this book, from the author, in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinions or thoughts, and any expressed are that of my own.

This was very good. I couldn’t put it down. The plot revolves around a girl that is part of a very small community. She and her brother are very close and can tell what the other is feeling and can kinda of read each others minds as well. The two meet these cousins Andrew and Cole. Cole is mysterious and doesn’t tell her anything, even when he does tell her something he doesn’t tell her the whole story and that confuses her. For the reader (me) that made me really mad at Cole.
We find out what Cole and Andrew are, also how they know Katrina and her brother, and also why they came to the town. Other love connections come to battle for Katrina’s heart, so we do get a love triangle but one that doesn’t involve Cole…which was pretty cute and funny to watch as it progresses.
The ending was a HUGE twist. I really was expecting what happened to happen because there were ways that it could have been avoided and if Katrina paid more attention to her surroundings in certain places she would have noticed it right away.

Something that bugged me was the from the beginning, Katrina is talking about how she wants change and to get out of the little town, she kinda backs away from that as the story progresses. Either she wants it or she doesn’t. Also, Cole needs to do better at explaining things, like for example HOW the necklace works. Also for a character like Katrina who from the beginning of the books seems like someone who likes control, to kinda of wait for others to explain what is going on around or the fact that she didn’t really push for an explanation made the story little off for me but that was the only point. Maybe it just frustrated me because I was so hooked into it, but that just frustrated me.

There’s lots of different “breeds” of supernatural in this story so I definitely recommend it to people that enjoy supernatural and “other world” worlds. Also to those that like reincarnation. I felt hooked throughout the story.

Overall: 4 out of 5!

Actual Rating: 3.5 Stars !!!

I got this book from the author, free of cost, in exchange of an honest review from my side.

Firstly I would like to thank the author and the tour organizers for giving me this opportunity of reading and reviewing this book.

Okay, so let us discuss about the characters first. My opinion regarding the characters is a bit negative because I felt that the main characters weren't developed fully and the author didn't harness their full potential which made me a little irritated. Secondly the side characters weren't much important for the plot, I mean they didn't have their own voice and were just in the story for the sake of presence but didn't contribute anything in it.

I loved the story line though and felt it to be unique and fresh and the presentation is also great. Moreover the writing style of the author touched my heart and I kept on reading just because I loved the author's narrative skills. It is detailed and descriptive which created a interesting environment in my head and intrigued me as well.

The pace is good too and the author didn't packed the story with unnecessary events rather the events that unfolded were in sync and I loved that fact. There is action and romance and most of all I liked the mystery part, the secrets were well kept and it fascinated me even more.

So as you guys can see I liked everything about this book except the characters but sometimes when the story is quite interesting and entertaining then you are bound to ignore some irritating characters and their stupid acts. Well, that's my thing but I don't know about you guys. So if you solely invest your time in the story because of its characters then I wouldn't recommend this book strongly but like me if you guys give importance to the other points too like plot, writing style, mystery, suspense, etc then I would definitely recommend this book to you guys. So go for it and enjoy !!!

I received a copy of this book free of charge in exchange for an honest review.

Honestly, my review is similar to the review from Lacey Osman so my review will be a bit short so you're not left reading something you've already read, I apologize.

At first I gave it a 3 star rating but after thinking about it, I felt that was just too low so I changed it to 4 out of 5.

For a first novel, I felt this was a very intriguing plot mixed with action, humor (some character's more sarcastic and dry than other's, which I enjoyed), and not one but two adorable love stories weaved in between. The only flaw with the relationships is that I wish I had been able to hear those quiet conversations that made Jake, Katrina's twin brother, smile adorably when Andrew was speaking with him... a novella from Jake's POV maybe, Mrs. Christine M. Besze? I'd read it.

I don't want to post a word-for-word summary of the plot, I feel that takes the curiosity out of reading the book for yourself. I did feel like I wanted Katrina to be a bit stronger, instead of bursting into tears and questioning her choices, "why me?" I wanted her to get mad and give into her urge to maybe punch someone, possibly someone on the football team who was a real jerk to her and her brother.

But in the end, I liked this book and thank the author for gifting me a copy, it left me wanting more. I hope theres a sequel so I can find out what happens to Katrina next.

The author does a great job of creating real characters that pull you in and leave you wanting to find out what happens next to them. I enjoyed this book and can’t wait to see what happens next.

I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

Big picture-wise, Everlasting Bond has it's own personality and charm. It tells the story of Katrina, a simple girl trying to live a normal life with her brother Jake and her mother who's recovering from cancer, who encounters a series of enigmatic characters who would turn her world into shambles. It's when these characters are introduced quite so cliche in the story that starts the problem within me. The paranormal aspect, vampires and werewolves , wasn't expounded enough in the beginning for me to get attached to it.

Katrina's whole personality throughout the whole ordeal made her come off as some sort of brat that only really thought about herself in the end. At some point she mentions "all the suffering she went through" and this was after Andrew told her how Cole and some others were in danger and have actually died to protect her. That really messed a lot of my sympathy points for her. She was violated, almost raped and harassed by different people. Her lack of conviction bothered me a lot. I wish Andrew and Jake's relationship were shown even more.

Overall, it was very difficult to be attached to the entire story except for some aspects that I found to be very good. Perhaps when Katrina finally decides what she wants and becomes a strong character by herself and the story could finally pick up.

I would like to thank the group We ♥ YA Books! and the author Christine M. Beeze for allowing me to read this book for an honest review.

I really liked the theme of the twin sibblings, their emotional connection and very likeable and sometimes annoying bond. I really loved that Jake was the weak of the twins and then turned out to be the most down to earth, easy-going, going with the flow, and most together of the twins.

I didn't love or hate Katrina, she got on my nerves a lot, Cole was alright he was not my prince charming material, but he did just ok.... I love Andrew, he was cocky, sarcastic and well I love him. Elias was a very surprising change. Stacy, awe very realistic girl, she made me laugh, I hope there was a different ending for her, so I'll just keep my fingers crossed.

Katrina and Jake's mom, wow!, I just did not expect that, her storyline really shocked me.........Alaric, well, he remind me of Carlisle from Twilight in a very weird kinda way...

I recommend this book to anyone that likes vampires, love-triangles, and reincarnation-soulmates!

I was given a free copy of this book from uh author for an honest review.

Here it goes, well first of all... The cover. I'm definitely a cover person. It's what grabs my attention. The difference between me deciding whether it looks interesting enough to pick up and see what it's about or not touching it at all. If I had seen this on a shelf, I probably would've passed it by. But I'm glad I did read it. I'm not a huge fan of vampire books- I think I may have read too many! But I still liked Katrina, she was a bit much at times, but I liked her. I adored jake and Andrew's relationship because they seemed so in love. Whereas Katrina and Cole... There wasn't much there about them, maybe because he was gone for a good portion of the book. The bad guys, aka werewolves, I liked the portrayal of them. It's not often you find that the vampires are the good guys and the werewolves are the soulless bloodthirsty ones. That was one difference to it. All in all, a pretty decent debut novel.

Before I begin, I would like to thank the author for allowing me to read this in exchange for an honest review.

I really like book covers that can relate to the story and this totally represent Everlasting bond.
I like the bonds between the twins, Cole & Katrina, Andrew & Jake. Each bond has it's theme. I like the occasionally quarrels between the siblings and they bond they shared are really beautiful.

This book has it's own personality and charm. In the beginning, I was really interested of the questions surrounding the characters but I got 'side track' in the middle of the book. Personally, I think that's a lack of 'thrill' but thankfully I picked it in about half of the book.

Overall, I enjoyed this one, especially once it got into the flow, although I'd to wade through a lot of story to get to that point (I think it's kinda worth it).

Full Review at: What's Beyond Forks?

Everlasting Bond is the debut novel by Christine M. Besze. This book kept my attention for the most part, but it was a struggle to stay focused at times. The second half is definitely better than the first half. As a reader, you will figure many things out long before the main character. At the same time, I have a lot of questions "Why?" questions. A lot!

Aside from all my questions, I did enjoy reading this story. This is only book one in the series, so I'm hoping we'll get answers in upcoming books. I am super curious to know what happens next. I really, really hope Katrina grows some lady balls!

Everlasting Bond was kindly provided to me by the author for review. The opinions are my own.

Overall, this book was very engaging and interesting. The characters Katrina, Jake, Cole and Andrew were very well built and described. The plot was very interesting. I also liked the idea of memories coming in form of dreams and how Cole helped Katrina remember him. The story was great and I would love to read the next book in this series.

As I had read all of what Christine has written, she gifted me this book so I'm going to give her my honest review, it was the first book she had written and it's about a boy meets girl, in high school fall in love the end...as if haha as every one knows it's never plain sailing, as I read all the reviews so far, I will use a quote from one of them which I feel is summary for the story " its twilight and underworld " with a love story with twists...I give this book 4 stars, well done , I hope you consider writing the sequel to it.
