To whom do the Gods pray when all seems lost...

Crystal Lords of Archean
The Chesen Rite

Sahl Amenak, High Lord of the Crystal Academy, lit a lumen-crystal and began leafing through the dusty pages of a manuscript that had not been seen by mortal eyes for more than 3,000 years. It was an extraordinary find that promised to shed light on the greatest riddle of all--how Lady Lyrihn, concubine and slave to Cobahl Attalyte, managed to overthrow an age old tyranny to establish the Council of Light.

As he read, the High Lord found himself pondering the ages that had long since past. His mundane worries and present day responsibilities seemed trivial compared to those of his predecessors--or so he thought.

Lord Amenak had no way of knowing that Cobahl Attalyte was not the only darkness that the Lady Lyrihn had put to rest. There was another--a malevolence so malignant that it threatened the Gods themselves. Sahl Amenak took a long draught of his golden tscha, completely unaware that his beloved Archean was on the verge of a war--a conflict that would beg the question...

Jeffrey was born in Detroit Michigan and earned a B.S. in Biology and M.S. in Plant Ecology from Wayne State University before moving to Chicago to attend the University of Chicago where he studied Evolutionary Biology.

While in Chicago Jeffrey was a volunteer at Gay and Lesbian Horizons serving as as a peer counselor as well as an instructor of gay sensitivity for the Chicago Police Department. He was also the co-chair of the Illinois Gay and Lesbian Task Force.

Jeffrey returned to Michigan for a couple of years and served as a board member of he Michigan Organization for Human Rights, as well as the MOHR Foundation. With a small group of friends, he formed Affirmations, a community center for lesbians and gays which has since moved to Ferndale, Michigan and grown enormously.

Missing Chicago, Jeffrey returned to form Overlooked Opinions, the first national opinion polling firm specializing in gay and lesbian polling and market research. Overlooked Opinions' ground breaking research was cited in virtually every major market publication in the US and Canada, as well as across five contienents, promoting understanding and visibility for gay men and lesbian women worldwide.

Jeffrey now lives part of the year in Riviera Nayarit near Puerto Vallarta and part of the year in a small town near Grand Rapids, Michigan. He shares his home with five wolfdog hybrids (Spike, Gandalf, Monkey, Beasty and Storm) and is an avid nature lover enjoying regular jaunts into the jungles of Mexico and the woodlands of Michigan.

The Disciples of Goedric Trilogy was Jeffrey's first serious forey into the world of writing fiction. It started as a waking dream on the rowing machine and evolved into an epic tale spanning three volumes:

Gay Gene Rising, Guardians of the Blood and SoulFire and Tears. The next book in the series picks up where The Disciples of Goedric left off and will be titled Killian's Breath.

For those who wonder about such things, Jeffrey is single, still searching for that knight in somewhat tarnished armor; his favorite food is Thai, and his favorite beverages are black coffee, well aged scotch and red wine.

Well, I am completely biased... being the author and all... but I hope others enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Contains some serious food for thought.

I really enjoyed this book. I was half way through when I learned there is going to be second book coming eventually. I really try not to read books that I have to wait for the sequel. The characters and scenes are well thought out and crafted. There are only hints that a couple of the characters may be gay but, nothing physically happens. Maybe in the second book which, I hope will be out soon. Authors need to include in the jacket cover that a book will have a sequel. I hate reading a book that doesn't have a completion and leaves you hanging...possibly for a year or more. So, I recommend the book with the suggestion you wait until the sequel comes out.
