This was a wonderful surprise of a book! Kugelmass creates a gentle sketch of a man's life, marked by difficulties from childhood and obstacles at every turn. Yet he richly shows how Braille sought to serve his neighbors, and how he found solace and strength in music and teaching. I think this would be a very good biography for most ages, middle school age and up. Highly recommended.
