In A Heartbeat is our first glimpse in Hilary Storm's Rebel Walking Series, and let me say - what a way to start it. Here we are introduced to the band and get to know better Talon and Eaven.
Meet TALON, the HOT DRUMMER
What makes a good girl drawn to a bad boy?
Perhaps its the tattoo painted on his skin? The hard abs? The piercing eyes that can melt you with a single stare? Or is it those powerful arms that can hit those drums right?
Talon is the drummer of the Rebel Walking, he got my attention first because he ooze this mysterious, silent-type aura that would have piqued any girl's curiosity. Unlike his twin brother who can't keep his organ in his pants,Talon is way different (from his brother and any other rock star). After a traumatic failed relationship in the past, he decided to be uber careful. But one look at Eaven, he knew that his heart is no longer in a safe place. Just one look, one glance, and he knew, she saw right through him.
I liked Eaven, especially the name - it's unique. Talon is right when he said that she's a contradiction. She can be shy, and then feisty; prude then wild - but she's a brave and definitely has a good head on her shoulders and a heart that loves deeply. Her friendship with Ivy is probably the next best thing after Talon. Ivy is her total opposite, she complements her. Ivy may be a little wild, a little liberated but when Eaven needs her, she'd drop any man she's with, get out from the bed and help her friend.
The first time they met - it was epic. It's not just the instant chemistry upon first sight - but the band performance and most especially the one-helluva-of-a-body shot that followed. To end the night and top it all off, a sense-melting kiss. I love the chemistry that burst within Talon and Eaven the first time they met, you can actually see fireworks all over the place. One look, and they saw through each other. What I love most about is two is that they tried to start it off as friends, and work their way to lovers-lane. Both came from bad relationships and trying to get over from past hurt and betrayals. Their relationship wasn't perfect, especially when the past caught up with them. They both deserve their HEA after what they have been through it in past. It wasn't an easy task though - will all the obstacles and the drama that surrounds them. Relationship takes a lot of work - good thing they never gave up.
What makes this story more interesting are the secondary characters. They're the ones that added color and charm. I love them all, from Taron's whoring moves to Ivy's foul mouth - all of them just fit right in.
In A Heartbeat is a good book to start off the series because it'll make you want to read the rest. This book is filled with romance, some steamy scenes, enough drama, and total hotness. I love the endless bantering and teasing between Taron (yes, the twin brother) & Ivy (the best friend). Good thing they're next in the series and I couldn't wait to get my hands on these two! I hope they have their HEA as well! :)

***SPOILER ALERT***
I freaking loved this book, fantastic story through out, couldn't out it down!! I felt for Talon and loved the connection between Talon & Eaven. Loved the way Talon was with Avery, such a sweet guy. Hot & sweet!! Rockstar weakness...EPIC proposal btw lol.. Loved it.

This was a very quick and cute read for me. Some parts were predictable, but some parts just had me sitting at the edge of my seat wondering “where the hell did that come from?” The story ended too quickly for me, but it left me wanting more at the end.
Eaven is very closed, quiet, self-conscious and keeps herself protected. Her ex-boyfriend Brandon was very controlling and degrading towards her. She caught him cheating on her, causing her to put her walls up. Since that incident, she’s closed herself off and constantly doubts herself and how she looks. Her parents took in her BFF, Ivy, who is she complete opposite from her. Ivy is loud, outspoken and will tell you how it is. She is the kind of best friend I would want to have. When Eavan is with Ivy, she steps out of her comfort zone more, experiencing more of what life has to offer. Ivy is always encouraging Eavan not to allow the past influence any of the decisions she makes and to just live life a little.
Talon is a hot drummer in a band, who seems very confident in playing and loves what he does. But he just seems so depressed, like the life is just sucked out of him. He experienced a heartbreaking moment in his past that he can’t seem to get past. It haunts him every day, wishing he could change it, wishing it never happened. His twin brother Taron looks completely identical to him, but his personality is the total opposite. Taron is actually the male version of Ivy. They’re always butting heads, but he has definitely met his match with Ivy. With their constant sexual comments to one another, it won’t be long till the two of them end up in the sack. Too bad, Taron is a complete man whore and Ivy wants nothing to do with him.
Talon is the same band Eavan’s cousin Luke plays in. Talon and Eavan first meet at Smitty’s, a bar that the guys play at. It was instant attraction from the first moment they laid eyes on each other. There was a strong pull that brought them together. Eavan tried to get to know Talon, but he wouldn’t talk, he would just look at her. Talon was fighting this feeling he has towards Eavan with his past. But he couldn’t stay away from her. They got to know each other and he started to like her more and more. He felt really comfortable with her; like he could tell her anything and she wouldn’t judge him. She also wouldn’t push him to talk when she would notice him clam up. Eavan knew he would open up whenever he would be ready.
Their relationship progressed rather quickly. I think too quickly that it all seemed rushed. You can see the sexual tension between them; they can’t keep their hands or their eyes off of each other. But they decided to not rush into anything, but get to know each other better first. Talon helped Eavan move out of her comfort zone and to try different things. She used to feel self-conscious about herself, but being with Talon, he made her feel sexy and confident. He made her feel special and confident about herself.
Eavan has a passion for photography and it shows through the pictures she takes. When’s she has a camera in her hand, it takes her into a whole new element. Eavan behind a camera gives her the same feeling Talon has behind the drums. Eavan is highly intrigued by Talon’s drum skills that he ends up teaching her how to play. No one has ever taken this much interest in him, especially to ask to learn how to play the drums. The more time they spend together, the more they are slowly falling in love with one another. Eavan’s insecurities are slowly coming back around, but Talon constantly shows her that there is nothing to worry about. That is until his psycho ex-girlfriend, Nicole, comes back into the picture. When Talon finally puts his foot down and makes the Nicole go away, she does something extremely drastic to try and get him back and away from Eavan. She tries to get rid of Eavan once and for all, just barely accomplishing it. Eavan shows her strength as she pulls through, while Talon never leaves her side.
My heart can’t help but feel sorry for Talon, with the situations that he is put through. I admire Eavan for her strength and the ability to trust Talon and patiently wait for him to talk about his past instead of forcing it out of him. You can absolutely see the love that they have for each other. If you are looking for a quick, cute, romance book, this definitely is the book for you. Good job Hilary! I am definitely looking forward to Taron and Ivy’s story.

In her debut novel, Hilary Storm delivers a powerful, breathtaking and heart pounding love story. From the very beginning, my attention was captured and held in the story of Talon and Eaven.
Hilary was able to create such dynamic character development that I felt like I personally witnessed the relationship between Talon and Eaven. Not only were the main characters well-written, but the supporting roles of Taron and Ivy made me want their story to be released ASAP!
If you have a weakness for tattooed rock stars such as I do, then this story will not disappoint! Talon and Eaven have both lived through their pain and heartache, but are able to find in each other a deep, everlasting and healing love. "I am alive because you breathe life back into me every day. Before I met you, I just existed. I have felt more alive with you than I have ever before. You make me want to become someone worthy of you."
How could any warm-blooded female not fall in love with Talon? I confess that I did! Thank you Hilary for a captivating and fantastic read. I cannot wait for more!

So here we have a young adult Eaven Bennett who is leaving her home-town to go to college with her best friend, her sister from another mister Ivy Adams.
These two characters you can tell have an unbelievable strong connection. Its like they were meant to be related, but somehow missed the chance (in the blood side).
We know in the beginning that something happened to Eaven which threw her off of men in general.
She's young, naive, no self confidence whatsoever, she's been broken down and made to feel small and can't seem to get past it, she shuts down.
Eaven and Talon first meet at a bar. His band "Walking Rebel" is preforming, and Eaven is there to watch. Her cousin also plays in this band, hence why she was there in the first place.
When both Eaven and Talon's eyes first meet, you can tell that there is a connection, a spark of some kind! Both sides of them can feel this chemistry bouncing off one another, trying to lull them in.
What makes a drummer boyfriend material?

Talon, the dark haired, tattooed back hunk of a drummer. This is every girls fantasy, a dark and mysterious band player for them to hook up with, your wrong there, maybe his twin Taron, he's the player in the band.
Talon also has had a tragic past, I don't really want to say much else and it will spoil it for you all :) I know I sometimes reveal some bits but this time I can't :(
Anyway back to Talon, yes her also broken, grief stricken, not looking for a relationship type of guy, that of course all changes when he locks eyes with Eaven in the bar, when she is doing a body shot to impress the lads :)
Its beautiful how Hilary wrote the story that magnifies between Talon & Eaven, such an emotional rollercoaster and it had it's steamy HOT points too, you will not be disappointed.
I fricking LOVED Taron. Yes he's the spitting twin of Talon in looks wise, but personally, something draws me more to Taron than it does Talon. Maybe its his man-whore ways, who knows, but I am sooo looking forward to the next book.
The next book Heaven Sent I believe is based on Taron & Ivy. They such an awesome banter between them. They certainly of met the whoreness of a match within them :)
I do hope further down the line hope we get a Holden story and possibly Luke with Lilly story *Cough Hint Cough*

Eaven has been broken down mentally by her ex and is just ready to move on and start over in life, leaving her past behind. So she and her best friend Ivy move away to attend college close to Eaven's cousin Luke. Luke is in a band and has invited the girls out for one of their shows. Eaven has no idea she is about to meet her forever and Ivy will be meeting the male version of herself.
Talon has had his heart ripped out of his chest and has been living on fumes for the last 5 months. He has not been interested in making friends or finding a girl to fix his broken heart, until she walks in the room. He can not keep his eyes off of her. What is she doing to him?
Eaven and Talon come head to head as the rest of the world disappears. He never speaks to her that first time they are alone after the show, but he has consumed her whole body. Who does that? Eaven knows that there is something about him, that she just can not seem to let go, she feels his pain and is wanting to find out what it is so that she can take it away.
Talon has been affected by her, he is starting to feel alive for the first time and is wanting to let her in his heart, but he is still afraid. He never thought that his ex Nicole would try to kill herself and his unborn child, but when that night happened he lost part of himself and now with just one sensitive gesture from Eaven after the show he knows she is different and she has him falling apart at the seams with want.
Within weeks Eaven and Talon have moved on to great heights in their relationship and Eaven feels like she is falling in love with Talon. Eaven is on this high from being in love and is on her way to speak with Talon before her morning class and once she walks into the bedroom she sees a female laying in the bed. Nicole his ex is asleep and half dressed in Talons bed. Eaven turns and heads for home. She is heart broken.
Neither Eaven or Talon see what is going to happen next. Their lives are going to be forever changed with the actions that are to follow when Nicole pops back into his life and is not leaving very easily.
This is an intense book. While reading you will feel the hurt Talon have experienced and the insecurity that is enveloping Eaven. You will feel the sexual tension and intensity that these two are giving off and lastly the love that they have for one another while they both fight their demons.

What a great story!
Eaven and Talon are both working their way back up from the bottom of really bad relationships when they meet each other. To both of their surprise, they have an instant connection.
Usually, I like a little more build up to a relationship. Instant love connections in books are rarely as believable or enjoyable as Hilary Storm has managed to make this one. Eaven and Talon are both great characters on their own but together, they are explosive.
I loved that her characters felt real. A lot of times the "real" factor gets lost in translation with things like grammar and formalities. These were young characters who came across as young. And very cool. The kind of people you want to hang out with. It was refreshing. They were all extremely likeable and well written. The romance aspect wasn't cheesy at all (you all know what I'm talking about!). There was a lot of depth to the story and twists and turns which kept me reading from cover to cover.
In a Heartbeat was a very good, very well written book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I can't wait to read the next book in the series and find out what happens between Taron and Ivy. I have no doubt that I will enjoy it every bit as much as I did this one.

Let me just say. This book. HOLY HELL!!!! I am AMAZED. I instantly fell in love with Talon and Eaven!! I even love that trashed mouth twin of Talon's. This story had me gripped from the very beginning. The troubled past of Talon and the loss he felt so deeply to the unconditional love shown by Eaven was a true testament to this one of a kind, special bond these two have, from the very first meeting.
Eaven has been sheltered by her companionate parents, who took in her best friend, Ivy, when Ivy's parents bailed on her. Eaven was stuck in a little cacoon and with the help of Ivy and Talon, Eaven blossoms into such an amazing woman, and sexy as hell too.
The chemistry between Eaven and Talon is immediate and the tension almost killed me at some points. The kindle almost went across the room. Talon was so patient and caring with Eaven that when the big moment FINALLY happened, HOLY HELL it was amazing. The sex between these two is beyond HOT.
Talon is an Alpha all the way. That's what these 2 Chicks look for when it's time for some sexy time!! Talon didn't disappoint, not one time!
We also LOVED Ivy. Such a witty and spunky girl who could take a shot and throw one back in your face as well. The chemistry between her and Talon's twin, Taron. Those two, WOW. That's going to be an explosive story and I CANNOT WAIT!!!
Favorite book rock band is HANDS DOWN Rebel Walking.

Book #1 of the series between their story of Eavon and Talon the hot drummer ( and did i mention a Twin = Yummy).
I couldn't put the book down once I started reading! It's so full on and I loved it! It's captivating, intense, wrong (in a good way), smart, hilarious and so romantic that they found the one after so much heartache xo The heartache of the previous relationship that Talon had experience was a lot to take in at such a young age and still had the heart to help her through it.
Loved this line:
"What are you doing?"
"Listening to your heartbeat". I start to think how much I care for this girl.
There are many moment where I laughed out loud literally. My husband thought I was going loopy. Lol
Loved the additional characters in the book especially the frustrating sexual tension between Ivy and Taron back. she has one quick smart mouth. You can tell there is also fire between them. I can't wait to read the next book in the series about these 2! Cannot wait for the release.

OMG!!! HOT drummer alert! Talon is not only a talented drummer but he is an honest to God gentleman. Eaven is a girl who is trying to get past her last relationship where she was put down and cheated on. Talon is trying to get past his last relationship where he lost a kid and had his heart shattered.
Can these two help each other through life and move on from their past? It sure seems like they can. Just like every relationship they had their ups and downs. They had misunderstandings but they always worked it out. Then Talon’s ex comes back into the picture and it’s almost over in the blink of an eye.
There are twists and turns around every corner in this book and I can’t wait to read book two in the series. Hilary captured me heart and soul with this book and while I want to read more about Talon and Eaven I am very intrigued by the Ivy and Taron story that follows this one. Taron is a very interesting character in this book and his true nature should come out in the next because I can’t really put my finger on him just yet.

I think I know why this book was called ‘In a heartbeat’....it was because thats how long it took for me to get into this book!! I will try to do it some justice and tell you about it.
Eaven:
'Eaven is freaking hot. I cant keep my eyes off her. She is feisty and nervous at the same time. I can tell she is out of her comfort zone. I watch as she leaves our table. I have a hard time taking my eyes away from the sway of her ass in those jeans. Her legs look like they go on forever. I notice her hair shining in the lights as I try to remember if her hair was blond with brown or vice versa.'
Eaven has led a quiet life but with the help of her straight talking, funny as hell best friend she is trying to take the college world by storm! Her cousin Luke is the guitar player in a local band and they go out to meet him and to let the fun begin. Little did she know that by the end of the evening she will have had a body shot and met the dark and mysterious Talon! I love the way that Eaven is really shy but working through her internal discomfort she becomes really quite feisty! She comes out with some funny one liners. Even though she is shy she is actually a very strong person and knows her mind. It doesn’t take long for her to let Talon into her life but she just fall at his feet which I think is great....I hate stories where the girl is a foregone conclusion! She helps Talon through a very dark time in his life and in doing this she falls in love with him and it is a really nice thing to read about! There are a few bumps along the way but I will get to them later!!
Talon:
'I look down and see Talon still staring at me. He is sitting there with his arms crossed with such a serious look on his face. He is gorgeous. He has dark hair that is just long enough for me to run my fingers through. I begin to imagine what it would look like all messed up from my hands and notice how his sexy green eyes are piercing right through me. '
Who doesn't love a drummer? But an emotionally damaged drummer...well we all want to save them! Talon is the quiet type when he meets Eaven and he never expects to fall for her in the way that he did. After his last relationship ended in the death of his unborn child he has no interest in being with anyone and definitely not in a relationship....until he lays eyes on Eaven! She makes him feel like no one has in a very long time! He happens to meet her just before the day his baby would be due but she helps him through this time better than he ever imagined anyone could. I loved reading about the process of Talon getting over the tragedy that he has suffered and finally being able to live and love again. He is actually a really sweet guy and you really feel for him with all he has been through....but he is also smoking hot!!
Theirs isn't a perfect love story though and they have to work through some outside trauma in the shape of Talons ex girlfriend......and what a piece of work she is! She appears back in Talons life when she decides she wants him back and the person to suffer the most is Eaven! She is lied to by her and eventually kidnapped at gunpoint and driven of a bridge!! i read this bit so quickly because I needed to know what happened! Its was nail biting good!
This book also had some of the funniest bit I have read in a book in a long time! Her best friend Ivy is sooooooooo funny! I did truly love her!
“Ive got your seat right here baby. Sit right here and let me take care of you.” He is sticking his tongue out between his fingers and flicking his tongue in such an inappropriate manner that everyone at the table freezes, except for Ivy.
She doesn't miss a beat. She strolls right over to him. Flips her hair behind her and sits straddled on Taron’s hips. He has the biggest shit eating grin on his face as she faces him She begins to full on kiss him with tongues licking all over each other. Then she pulls back and says “Don't you just love how Aiden’s cum tastes?”
I about laughed myself onto the floor at that bit of the book!! And don't worry that wasn't a typo....Talon’s twin brother is called Taron!
Ok to sum up......I really really enjoyed this book! It moved fast enough that it kept me interested but not that fast that I felt things were missing. Even through all the bits of drama I never felt like ‘OMG this is so unrealistic!’. And you know what made it better.....Eaven and Talon got their HEA! Im a sucker for a happy endin

This book has been like forever in my kindle for two reasons. 1) i have to read some ARC copies first.
2) i was a bit unsure if i'm gonna like the story since it was not really my favorite genre.
I decided to read it anyway. And here's my verdict...
I was correct. I didn't like the story. I freakin' love it! I was mentally cursing myself for not reading it sooner. Good thing I also got a copy of the 2nd book. (special thanks to a giveaway for these 2 awesome books.)
In a Heartbeat is a story about Talon, a drummer who had some bitter past which made him reluctant to open up his heart to love again and Eaven, a college girl with a passion for photography, who also had some experience with a cheating boyfriend. They were not ready for a relationship but can't help themselves from falling for each other.
This book is pretty intense! I'm glad the POV shifts between Talon and Eaven. You can really read about how deep their feelings are for each other. And how passionate they are when... you know. *wink*
The story was well written. There's a perfect mix of drama, romance, steam, and comedy (taron and ivy cracked me up several times).
The characters are well developed. I can't help but love the Walkers and Luke. Flirting aside, they're pretty decent (except Taron, lol) and they really care for our girls. My favorite character is Ivy. I super love her. She's smart, caring, and really funny. Her cheers made me laugh. I love her scenes with Taron especially when she gives him a dose of his own medicine.
I gave it 5 stars. I highly recommend this book to all NA fans and to those who want a short, sweet and intense read. I'm looking forward to reading the next book. Yay, it's my favorite girl's story.

Hilary Storm has a wonderful way of weaving a story. This one had love, romance, characters deeper than the ocean, adventure, drama.....the list goes on. I really enjoy it when authors give you multiple character's POVs....when it's done right! This book was DEFINITELY done RIGHT!!
You can't help but feel the immediate connection between Eaven and Talon. The different POVs make Talon's initial silence intriguing, and like Eaven we can't help but want to know him.
Eaven is just as interesting.....she's both vulnerable and strong. She's terrified of being hurt again, but can't stop herself from falling for Talon.
You will love this book and ALL the characters. This series is going to be a MUST read for me! Pick it up from one of the links below and be sure to follow the author so you know when the next one comes out! I can see this series going on for a long time with the wonderful people Hilary Storm has created.

This is a fabulous book from page one. I absolutely fell immediately in love with the intensity of the passion between Talon and Eavan and was hooked right away.
This is not your typical love story but the way that Eavan was able to look directly into the soul of Talon and see him without having to say a word? I loved it!
Rock stars, tattoos, bad boys and lots of drama and hotness- this book was right up my alley and I think you will love it just as much as I did. As for Talon's twin brother, Taron? Stay away from that guy- he is a panty stealer. <3 Kellie

This was an amazing book that grabbed me and would not let go.
It moved along at a fantastic pace, had amazing characters that you fall in love with and want to see them overcome anything that gets in their way, no matter what it is, and an amazing story that grabs you from the moment you start reading until you are finished the very last word.
Hilary has written an amazing book, that I would have no problem recommending to friends and family and to anyone else who wants a great read.
It moved along at a fantastic pace, had amazing characters that you fall in love with and want to see them overcome anything that gets in their way, no matter what it is, and an amazing story that grabs you from the moment you start reading until you are finished the very last word.

What do you get when a young college student/ aspiring photographer and a sexy drummer from an up and coming rock band meet? A whole lot of sexiness, sizzle, romance, and drama that will make your heart beat faster and your thighs clamp together. There are a ton of bad boy rocker books available right now. Some good. Some bad. In A Heartbeat falls into this category but it is freaking fantastic. I could not put it down. When Eaven Bennett and Talon Walker meet there are immediate sparks. Talon is the bad boy with a tragedy in his past that shapes his entire future. Eaven is the good girl with a hidden wild side. When they get together the sexual chemistry is off the charts but there is also something deeper at work. Talon's past, in the form of a crazy ex girlfriend, comes back to haunt him and threaten his burgeoning relationship with Eaven.
I loved Talon and Eaven. They are two very likable characters that deserve happiness. We watch them struggle through heartbreak, pain, and hidden secrets to be together. These are two very strong characters. They are not perfect, but that makes them even more endearing. Eaven, although she seems a bit innocent, is a very strong willed, strong minded girl. She is brave, sassy and loyal. I absolutely adored her. Talon is a hot package of sexiness with a buried secret. He is protective, sweet , faithful and an up and coming rock god. I enjoyed reading their story so much.
The plot was quick paced and thoroughly engaging. I was glued to the pages. That is really saying something when a new rocker bad boy book seems to be released every day. I am so glad that I got to read this one. There were no holes in the plot. And there was a plot twist that totally surprised me. In A Heartbeat was filled with interesting characters that left us wanting to know more about them. I am absolutely dying to read Taron and Ivy's story.
If you like books filled with sexy rock stars that actually has a plot, then you will love In A Heartbeat. I would highly recommend it. This is the first book in the Rebel Walking series. 5 out of 5 stars.

What can I say about In a Heartbeat? Well, it's no secret I love bad boys. Every book I read I openly root for the bad boy to win The girl. Hell, I wish I was the girl and in this book I got two bad boys. Twins at that.. Oh And did I mention that these twins, Taron and Talon, are part of a band? Omg! I'm in heaven..
Talon is the hot drummer. He's sexy as hell but he's the more docile of the twins. Now Taron is um how should I put it nicely, a man Whore. Lol He's with any girl at any time any where and is totally proud of it. He's the lead singer so yeah he's got his share of hottie groupies and takes total advantage of it..
When Eaven and Ivy walk into the club Talon Instantly locks eyes with Eaven and they just have this connection that neither one of them wants to break anytime soon. . Talon is mysterious and Eaven just can seem to stop looking at him. Guess it doesn't help that he plays the drums without his shirt and all you see is that sexy sweaty muscle that glistens on stage as he plays. Oh my, is it getting hot in here?
“Hey, lay down on your stomach and let me have the sticks. I am going to replay the song and play it out on your calves. You just feel the music. I want you to feel what I hear in the song.” I know I am going to have to hold back doing this so I don’t hurt her.
Talon to Eaven as he's teaching her to play the drums on her body.. This is just the hottest thing ever I mean dang. I could feel the drum sticks beating the back of my legs as he worked his way up the back of her body. Ok, I'm not saying anymore.
You've got to read this sexy story for yourself. It was hot and steamy but also had some great LOL moments along with some slap that biotch moments that you don't want to miss.
I know for a fact that the second book is going to be even hotter and steamier than this one because its Taron's story and I cannot wait to read it. Great job Hilary Storm. You've made a new fan in me.. So glad I was lucky enough to get this great book for my honest review..

Wow! Talon way to make Eaven feel like an idiot when she first talks to you, "why do you stare at me like that?" Pause. Nothing. "Well ok then, I guess, uh...it was nice to meet you. I will see you around." But he makes up for it by being playful, "we should probably get on the bus before everyone else. Otherwise, you might just have to sit on someone's lap." Talon is a little possessive of his girl, "you effing touch her and I will personally cut off your di**." He really loves his woman, "ok, but then you are mine. I was so lost in this book literally 'In a heartbeat!'
Eaven and Talon have both experienced heartbreak, deceit, and a world of pain. When they first meet they have an instant connection.
"I know we were making people feel uncomfortable as we seemed to have this connection with our eyes that wouldn't quit." ~ Talon
Eaven understood Talon better than anyone else had. She saw beyond the facade he wore for the world, she truly saw him all of him good bad and ugly to the very depths of this soul.
"She doesn't even know me and I can tell she sees my pain."
They were both perfect for each other and the walls they had built could not help but come crashing down. They will both have to overcome trust issues, insecurities, and many other obstacles along the way. Together Talon and Eaven will learn so much about each other, as well as, themselves.
Hilary Storm has done an amazing job in writing In a Heartbeat. This novel would not be the same if it were not written with both main characters telling their story. With both characters, We can really be pulled into their emotions they experience. When Talon tell his story to Eaven, I could feel his sorrow and pain. When Eaven experiences hurt, I feel it, and when she sticks up for herself I feel fiesty right along with her. I highly recommend this book and cannot wait to read more by Hilary Storm.

Oh my goodness!! I have to admit... I was snickering through this book... The main characters are Eaven, and Talon, but hahah I totally LOVED Ivy and Taron!!
Ivy is a sassy quick witted chick that takes no smack from anyone..haha oh my, and Taron he dishes it out faster than any guy thinking his crap doesn't stink and can get anyone.. hahah except Ivy..love it!
Eaven is your more calmer type.. more shy.. and Ivy is trying to break her from that.. and her first time meeting up with her Cousins friends well lets just say a Body Shot incident could of made as straight girl go Ohhh My.. Poor Talon didn't stand a chance.
Talon had his own struggles, bad things had happened..which I wont go into.. due to spoiling the good read. I'm so glad that he met Eaven..she's perfect for this rockstar drummer! He totally doesn't portray the drummer attitude which is really sweet.

I am so glad that I have the second book already purchased. I loved the tangled web and well as the love story. Oh who am I kidding the best part is the Walker brothers!!! Oh heck yes - Rock band with Taron as the lead singer and Talon as the drummer that takes off his shirt before beating on the drums!! And then there is Holden. I am hoping the third book is about Holden, the second being about Taron!!! Very Very Good read!!

Talon Walker, twin brother of Taron Walker are in a up & coming band called REBEL WALKING. She begins to do body shots with the female while all eyes are on her but Talon's is all she's thinking about & of course how embarassed she is...hoping it's not showing all over her face :p
Talon & Eaven share a SMOKIN' HOTT kiss at the end of the night without ever speaking a word to one another. Their eyes speak for them. These two have a connection that is so obvious to everyone around them. I felt it but wanted so much more. I LOVED how you could feel how they were feeling about one another & I LOVED the alternating POV'S. I like knowing what both characters are feeling & experiencing. They have a special connection & love for one another...they are true soulmates!!! They've helped each other heal from their past. Unfortunately, they're obstacles that keep coming at them & some being detrimental. TROLL!!! But, their love & devotion to one another pulls them through.
I truly LOVED this story but I really needed MORE. I felt pieces were missing & I needed them. I CRAVED them!!! & because I did NOT want to put the book dowm I'm giving it 4 STARS. A GREAT READ & DEBUT by Hilary Storm.

I really like this book, it's romantic,funny and at times hot!
The two main characters are very likeable.
The story is told from both POV, which gives depth to the story, although at times I felt that Hilary's writing was missing something, some scenes needing more description and power behind them.
The secondary characters of Ivy and Taron ( Talon's twin brothers) are extremely funny and provide lots if laugh out loud moments!
In a heartbeat is the first book in the series and I'm looking forward to reading the rest,this is a good start to a series.

It's refreshing to find a rock'n'roll story that steps out of the box and tells a different kind of story. Oh it still has sexy bad a*@ rockers but it went deeper than that.
Eaven "like heaven but without the H" is a self conscious girl with a heart of gold whose ex cheated on her and made her feel about as big as a spec of dusk with his condescending comments.
Talon is the sexy drummer from "Walking Rebel" who has been through a heartbreaking experience with his ex. During his first encounter with Eaven is instantly drawn to her. These two both have troubled pasts with relationships and need to open their hearts and trust each other to find the love that is waiting for them both.
There were a few things that made me give this story 4 stars instead of 5. At the beginning of the story Eaven and Talon share a passionate kiss in the hallway at Smitty's. It was hot and sexy and well yeah, but further into the story they talk about wanting their first kiss to mean something more. I chalked this up to their first kiss once they got together but I did flip back to the beginning to make sure I had the right info. The other thing I found was that a few times the story didn't seem cohesive. It felt like the details were just being put into steps instead of a part of the story.
Besides those snags I found I was completely emersed and invested in this story. What I really liked about this story was that Eaven and Logan are different from most characters in this genre. Eaven knows she needs to step out of her comfort zone and experience life and she tries her best to do it on her own, it doesn't take Talon to do it for her. Talon is not portrayed as a womanizing rock star with different girls in his bed everyday. That's Talon's identical twin brother Taron's job; yes there are two of them, plus two others in the band so expect 3 other books in this series, which I am excited to read. I can't wait to find out more about the rest of the band and hopefully get to see an ending to Talon and Eaven's story since I am a sucker for the story after the story, like their wedding ;)

In a Heartbeat is the first book in the Rebel Walking series by Hilary Storm. It is the story of Eaven Bennett and Talon Walker. Eaven - like Heaven without the H - is a college student who is lucky enough to be at school with her best friend Ivy. Talon is a member of the band Rebel Walking who is still trying to deal with the tragedy of his last relationship. Talon is not the only one who bears scars, and Eaven must learn to let herself explore life outside of her comfort zone. Will they open themselves up to a chance at love, even if there is possible hurt?
In this first of the series, we are introduced to not just Eaven and Talon, but we meet the rest of Rebel Walking, as in Taron the gorgeous twin of Talon, Luke who is Eaven's cousin, Holden, Talon and Taron's older brother, and Lily the Walker boys' cousin; along with a few friends and fans. Oh, and don't forget the exes!
I enjoyed watching Eaven evolve from the shy girl to a daring, take control young woman. Then there is Ivy and her sass... Ivy is just the kind of girl I would have wanted to be friends with growing up! She and Eaven compliment each other in so many ways that they are quite the dynamic duo.
In a Heartbeat has plenty of action that keeps the story moving at the perfect pace. Bar parties, body shots, boating, hot tubbing, concerts....and, of course, plenty of steamy sex scenes. I don't want to ruin any of the surprises for you, so no spoilers here. I will say that toward the end, you will be holding your breath and speed reading to see what happens.
I am anxious for Heaven Sent to be released...I believe that we get to see a whole lot more of the sassy and sexy banter between Ivy and Taron.

I love when I can curl up with a book and feel every emotion while reading it. Hilary Storm's In a Heartbeat did just that. From the minute I picked this book up I couldn't put it down. Instantly fell in love Talon and Eaven. And we all know I love the crazy best friends so Taron and Ivy had me laughing.
Eaven went through a bad breakup and has built walls up to protect her heart. When she thinks no one will be able to break them she meets her cousin's band mate, Talon. Talon has been living in the dark for months and won't put himself through the heartache he felt again. The chemistry between these two is instant. They both know this is something they will not be able to fight. I loved that Eaven was able to overcome her insecurities and show her true self. She is a fantastic character. It's not all hearts and balloons for these two. One minute they will be on cloud nine and the next their world comes crashing down. It's not a long coaster ride, but it does have its bumps.
Eaven's roommate and best friend Ivy cracks me up every time. She says exactly what comes to her mind without even thinking which makes her a perfect counterpart to Talon's twin brother Taron. I cannot wait to read their book.

Spoiler alert!!!! Eaven and Talon are so perfect together. He has been is a depressed dark state since his ex overdosed and killed their baby. She hurt him deeply. Then along comes Eaven. The gorgeous cousin of his band mate Luke. He is instantly drawn to her and her to him. She is still recovering from a bad breakup. She was cheated on and continually put down. Talon makes her feel beautiful. He is always telling her hoe beautiful and sexy she is. They fall in love as their band is getting more popular. Then his ex Nicole is released from rehab and comes after Eaven. She kidnaps her at gunpoint and drives her car over the bridge into the river trying to kill them both. But Eaven holds on despite her injuries. Nicole dies in the accident. Talon almost lost Eaven. He realizes he wants her forever. He proposes at the end of the book and she says yes. Such a great romance. Great read.

Loved this book! It was one of those books that can be described accurately as "cute". The main characters were young, passionate, laid back, and absolutely crazy about each other. When I was 3/4 of the way finished with this book I sat back and thought to myself, "This is every woman's/girls dream!" To have a love so pure, such a monumental connections between man and woman/boy and girl, to unconditionally love someone so much that it'd kill you to lose them- literally.
The heroine, Eaven, is a young, kind-hearted girl who has a cousin, Luke, that is in a band with the hero, Talon. Eaven and a Talon connect immediately the first time they meet, they start hanging out, and it's a beautiful, heart-warming love story from there. BUT... Eaven has been in a past relationship where she endured physical and emotional abuse to the extreme. Talon was in a past relationship, as well, with a girl who was drug addicted and suicidal. Due to both characters histories, they struggle with trust issues and commitment- both in the mindset that they will never find their 'happily ever after'.
Despite their past issues, Eaven and Talon dive into a relationship together. They run into more obstacles on the way when their exes show up and try to rip them apart. Eaven walks into a horrifying scenario with Nicole, Talon's ex. Brandon, Eaven's ex, calls her every name in the book and threatens her, completely firing Talon up. It isn't until the end of the story that the author throws a curveball that made me damn near drop my iPad- lol!
I liked this book the most because it felt so real to me, but far from ordinary, as well. A good books best quality is how unique it is. Eaven and Talon's journey together captivated me and even made me reflect on my own relationship (which, might I add, is perfect!). But of course with every couple whose chemistry is out of this world, and a flawless relationship comes outside problems. Will the characters be able to drive around the holes in the road or will they end up splitting up?
This is the first book in the Rebel Walking series by Hilary Storm. I have all intentions of reading the next book, Heaven Sent, and I sure hope I love it equally or more then I did this read. Two thumbs up to Ms. Storm for writing such a beautiful love story! I'm a total sucker for a hot, erotic book, too. However, the sex between the couple wasn't even close to 'vanilla' but it also didn't make my girly parts tingle, either. Lol! I thought it was wonderful! Oh, and the comedy! Yes, lots and lots of laughs in this book- at one point my boyfriend actually looked at me and gave me the 'you're-f$&@?!-crazy' look. He just doesn't get it!

This is the first book in the Rebel Walking series by Hilary Storm. I have all intentions of reading the next book, Heaven Sent, and I sure hope I love it equally or more then I did this read. Two thumbs up to Ms. Storm for writing such a beautiful love story! I'm a total sucker for a hot, erotic book, too. However, the sex between the couple wasn't even close to 'vanilla' but it also didn't make my girly parts tingle, either. Lol! I thought it was wonderful! Oh, and the comedy! Yes, lots and lots of laughs in this book- at one point my boyfriend actually looked at me and gave me the 'you're-f$&@?!-crazy' look. He just doesn't get it!
