Growing up in small-town Belcrest, Maddy Jennings always thought she was destined to be with her childhood sweetheart, Trent Basso. Throughout the complicated road she has traveled with Trent, someone else has had a strong presence in Maddy's life. Trent’s older brother Gabe has always been someone she could count on, therefore neither of them can be blamed when lines blur from friendship to something more. When Maddy returns to her hometown for her brother’s wedding, she is forced to face both Trent and Gabe for the first time in two years. ”I thought this time would be it but you just embarrassed me again. Make me look like a jackass, following you around begging you to be mine. I should have known you would always pick him.”

Love Me Back is a well written story with a very high level of angst. It is a sweet but very frustrating story. This is a love triangle told from the perspective of our main character, Maddy Jennings.

I absolutely loved the way the book switch from past to present. A reader enjoys the age of innocence, first loves and best friends. I had a smile on my face as I remembered my own games of MASH and dreams of my possible futures.

This story brings Maddy back to town to attend her brother’s wedding. There will be a week of activities to get through and Maddy must face the two brothers who hold her heart…Trent and Gabe Basso.

The story had highs and lows and all the while a reader waits patiently in the present for Maddy to make a choice. You see, one brother wants his millionth chance while the other brother wants his first chance.

This is the point where the main character let me down. I would have loved if she went for what she wanted just once…grab his face and kiss him, etc., sadly, this never happens. Maddy’s personality never goes for what she wants or perhaps she is so terrified to hurt the other brother.

I wish Maddy would have claimed what she wants… we get an hea...eventually.

Overall, there was a lot of angst which I would have liked the author to capitalize on the hot chemistry a bit more. With that being said, this was a good read and I would like to thank Michelle Lynn for the opportunity to read it!

I wish I could rate this more than two stars because I truly did like the story, even with the excessive flashbacks. The execution was just lacking. The bad grammar and sentence structure as well as incorrect word usage (usually resulting in saying the opposite of what was intended) were very distracting.

"You are more my girl than his girl."

"Love Me Back" is an angst-filled emotional roller coaster that hooked me from page one. I can honestly say I fell in love with this book!! So okay... It basically takes us through one hell of a ride Maddy Jennings calls life. Life with the Basso brothers in it. Meet Trent and Gabe. Since they were little, Trent and Maddy had been best friends, but then they took things to the next level, becoming on and off boyfriend and girlfriend throughout the years. Where as Gabe is Trent's older brother.
"You are my brother's girl. If he can't be here, then I will take care of you."

Life caused Trent and Maddy's relationship to be FULL of ups and downs, not only relationship wise, but friendship wise as well. The important thing here is that during each and every one of those "downs," Gabe was somehow always there for Maddy. Granted he was there as a friend, but of course, things started to change... feelings started to bloom. FYI, there isn't any cheating in this book. :)
"When you were destroying me, he was picking me up." - Maddy

"Believe me, Mad, you are every guy's type." -Gabe

Sometimes I absolutely loved Trent and other times, I absolutely hated his guts. He could really be a jerk and yet, he could really make up for it. The way Michelle Lynn wrote and developed his character, made it very hard for me to actually stay mad at him. I guess you could say I had a love/hate relationship along the way. Where as with Gabe? I kind of always loved him!!!!
"I want to be the reason for your smiles and laughter. I want to make you happy and feel loved." - Gabe

I loved the fact that this book went back and forth in time. We had alternating chapters between the present day and several key moments during Maddy's life. You know how some authors publish prequels AFTER they release the actual novel and when you read that prequel everything you read in the novel has a deeper meaning or simply put, makes more sense? Well THAT'S what the flashbacks in this book were for me. They made everything in the "present day" chapters fall into place... they made me understand even more Maddy's actions and reactions.

Thank the Lord this book didn't have multiple POVs because that would've just KILLED me! To actually know what these boys were feeling and thinking would've broken my heart even more for them. So for once, I think I'm glad a book was solely in the heroine's point of view.
"I'm not willing to sacrifice you for him." - Trent

"I am sick of waiting for the time to be right. I want you to be mine." - Gabe

Maddy deep down always knew her choice...but things happened, life happened... And boy, did it. While reading this book I laughed, swooned, cried, and I definitely squirmed. I literally had a "WHAT!!! This canNOT be happening!!!!!" moment and a "Ohhh no....." heartbreaking moment. I really believe this book is a true page turner. I was very antsy while reading wanting to find out more and more.

The secondary characters were very well developed and simply amazing! They helped make the story line anything but boring. I really loved McKenna, Bryan, Jack, and Ian. They were so funny and had an amazing chemistry with each other. The ending was... wonderful!!!! Two thumbs up!!! I finished reading with a huge grin!!

Okay, seriously...
Go read this book! I loved it and I highly recommend it!
Michelle Lynn, I'm a fan!

What do I think of this?

Hmmm....... Well, to start with, it was kind of a long read, but I found I couldn't put it down. It bounced back and forth between time frames; one second you're in the present and the next you're back when she was 11, etc. Normally that doesn't bother me, but in this case it was a constant thing and you just want her to GET ON WITH IT! I think it would have been better to start out in present, jump into the past and then work back up to the present. Would have flowed better, I think.

Due to this jumping back and forth, I developed a level of dislike and hatred for Trent that verged on the passion of a thousand burning suns!

Where Maddie is concerned... Ugh! Don't even get me started on her! I'll give you one word for her: enabler.

But then we have Gabe. Poor Gabe. I want a Gabe. Can I have a Gabe?

I'd prefer to have given this 3.5 stars, as I did like the overall story, but you can't do half stars. *glares at GoodReads*

All I have to say about this are three things:

HOW I FEEL ABOUT TRENT:

HOW I FEEL ABOUT MADDY:

HOW I FEEL ABOUT GABE:

Some parts of this book I was all:

...and some I was all:

...be forewarned. This book will place you on an emotionally exhausting roller coaster!

Love Me Back was even better than I was expecting or hoping it would be! The premise sounded good, but I've been tricked before. I'm happy to report that this time, I was pleasantly surprised.
This is the story of Maddy, a girl with an unconventional family and her trek into true love. She is an extremely relatable and likable character. It was a nice change of pace to not find the girl in a book annoying. I enjoyed rooting for her this time around. The story starts when she's 11 and we get to see her interactions with Trent Basso, aka her soul mate. They're adorable together and you really think he's amazing and they'll end up together. But you realize SOMETHING is wrong from their present relationship status. Fast forward 14 years and she's heading home for her brother's wedding. Maddy is reluctant because her relationship with Trent (and his mother) is strained. Enter his older brother, Gabe, and SWOON!! He is hot, sweet, and you just know he has feelings for "Madgirl". Yes, he nicknamed her!!! I can't lie, both brothers have their strengths and things that make them great. I thought I'd be torn between the two and I was for awhile. I mean, Gabe is hot and caring and seemingly genuine, but how does that compare to first love?
But there's more to the story of what went wrong between Maddy and Trent. You can sense he screwed up, but it's not clear how. As the story jumps past to present, secrets are revealed and you'll definitely be able to choose between the guys. Or at least I was able to. Somewhat reluctantly, but one edges out the other.
Love Me Back is a sweet story and a glimpse into small town life. We get to see a beautiful girl who has choice of the town's most wanted men - the Basso brothers. We get to watch her mend her non-existent relationship with her mother. It is fun, fast paced, and easy to get hooked on once you begin. Even the supporting characters are well-developed enough that you'll appreciate the story even more. You'll laugh, get frustrated, and probably angry. You'll be a cheerleader for one guy and maybe want to punch the other.
A great journey into letting go of the past and finding true love.

Wow!! This book was really and truly amazing. For the first time (in what feels like forever), I have found a love triangle book that doesn't absolutely kill me with angst. This is the story of Maddy and her love for two brothers, Trent and Gabe (huge Gabe fan!!). The book spans a fourteen year history between the three. The way this book is set up was such a breath of fresh air. The author alternates chapters between past and present. While you may think alternating chapters is confusing, I found myself falling in love with what felt like two separate stories. I loved all the characters in this book, even the ones with flaws: .
This story has many of the things I look for in a good book (which is why it has landed on my "favorites" shelf): strong characters (including the secondary--loved the Bigs and Littles), a little bit of drama and angst (not too much), some twists and turns in the plot , and a good bit of chemistry and steam between characters.
This is the first book by Lynn that I have read and it won't be my last.

Love Me Back is a coming of age romance. It is a love triangle that involves Maddy and the boys next door. Maddy, Trent and Gabe all come back home to Belcrest for her older brother’s Jack’s wedding. He schedules a week packed with activities for the wedding party, forcing Maddy to spend time with the two boys who have her heart. This story jumps between the present tense and the past, giving a history of the rolls each of them have played in her life.

Jack and Maddy had a broken home life growing up and spent a lot of time at the Basso’s house. Jack is best friends with Doug, Trent and Gabe’s older brother. Trent is Maddy’s age and Gabe is three years older. Mr. and Mrs. Basso were like parents to Maddy and the boys like brothers. As they got older, Maddy and Trent started to develop feelings for one another just as her parents decided to move away for her Dad’s new job and to work on their marriage. Three years and one divorce later Maddy returns to Belcrest with her mother and she and Trent quickly become the “Romeo and Juliette” of their small town.

Trent is the boy Maddy has loved since she was six years old. They have broken up and gotten back together quite a few times throughout the years but their friendship has always remained strong. He was the boy she shared all of her firsts with. Trent has always been the one to break them up for one reason or another and while he dates and sleeps around, he still believes Maddy to be “his girl” and that he will someday marry her. Maddy loves Trent and is always there when he needs her but starts to realize that she can’t count on him to be there when she needs him. People change. Trent is now a soccer star and it has gone to his head. He never puts her above his career or his desires.

Gabe hates the way his brother treats Maddy. Trent breaks up with her when they go to college and he steps in to help pull Maddy out of her depression. They spend a lot of time together and both start to have feelings for each other. After a trip home for the holidays where his mother notices their closeness and tells him to back off; he makes a promise to his brother to leave her alone. Gabe pulls away and Maddy is left with a broken heart. When Maddy suffers a terrible loss, once again it is Gabe who is there to comfort her while Trent is too busy with his career.

Things are very awkward when they are all pushed together for the wedding festivities. Maddy left Trent a year ago and is determined not to fall back into anything romantic with him. Trent wants to use this opportunity to get her back. Gabe still loves Maddy and wants to be with her despite the promise he made to his brother or the fact that his mother does not approve. On top of her boy troubles; Maddy’s mother is trying to rebuild their broken relationship, while she is haunted with memories of her traumatic experience the last time she was at her mom’s house.

Mrs. Basso is upset with Maddy and tells her she needs to make a choice and stop breaking her family apart. Gabe and Trent have not spoken in 2 years because of their feelings for her. Maddy is torn between her childhood Romeo and the man who has become her rock. She is determined to mend their family, even if it means leaving them both.

I loved the flashbacks and getting to know these characters as children, adolescents, and finally adults. It really helps you to understand the feelings Maddy has for both of these men and why they love her so much. Trent and Gabe both pissed me off in different ways but then so did Maddy. They don’t intend to hurt each other but they are young, naïve, and at times selfish. The character development was fantastic and even the supporting characters will work their way into your heart. I love books that draw me in emotionally and this book did that. These characters frustrated me at times and equally had me an emotional bawling mess others. It is more than a love triangle. This book is also about a little girl desperate for her mother’s love and attention. It’s a story of tragic loss, beautiful friendships, love, and forgiveness. Michelle Lynn covers a large time span and so many issues in this one book; and she does it all without it feeling rushed or incomplete. Love Me Back is a great book!

Maddy (Madgirl) Jennings lives in a small town (just over 1000 people) where everyone is already fated to their partner from birth. It’s the same town where the Basso brothers (Gabe and Trent) happen to be the most wanted men and Maddy just happens to be best friends with the youngest Basso brother Trent.

Love Me Back tells the story of Maddy and Trent over a 25 year period going back and forth in time and this type of storytelling works really well in this book! Maddy is a very strong girl, and like most women she truly lays herself down in the name of love. Did Maddy have her issues? Of course and when Maddy is forced to return to her hometown for her brother’s wedding she’s forced to confront them and her future.

Michelle Lynn did a great job of building the characters and the story line, watching the growth in Maddy as she learns to accept Trent and the situations in her life was realistic and not over the top. Add in a HEA and I was inlove.

I started reading about 6:30 last night and at 1:40 this morning I was in tears! Love Me Back has it all! Young love, old love, high school drama, adult drama, heart breaks, first times, stupid teenage decisions and bad parenting! I really like that regardless of how Mad's mom deserves the worst parent award, she still turns out to be a fine young woman. She has positive influences from her best friends parents who consider her their daughter. There were a few times that I wanted to shake some sense into her. Like at midnight when I'm yelling "No, No, NO!!! Pick Gabe already!!!"
I've never been a fan of books with flashbacks, but as long as I read the title to each chapter is was easy to follow where in Madeline's life we were at. With the exception of some missing coma's, this book was very well written.
I truly enjoyed this book. I will keep this book in my favorites and will defiantly read again!!

well, where do I start! there was parts of this book that I loved and some parts i had to stop reading for hours, i normally find a book and read it in a couple of hours.

The flash back bits got a bit too much, when the main storyline got to a good bit it would flash back, some flash backs were helpful but some...
Enough about bad points! I Loved Gabe, kenna, bryan and jack. in the end i added shaun to that list. go shaun! who knew you was that awesome -youll see what i mean at the end of the book-
This book has something for nearly everyone to relate too. personally i wished there was more of a badass side to maddy. I was screaming for her to show trent the door!
I wouldn't read this book again but i wouldn't tell anyone not to read it :) it's not a love/hate but in the middle!

This is my second review so sorry if its terrible ^^ Enjoy!!

I really enjoyed this book. I'm not usually a huge fan of triangle books, but I really thought this one was done well. I loved the slow reveal of the entire back story. It kept me up later than I wanted just dying to know what happened next. And the best part, NO CLIFFHANGER!!!!
This was very well written and I really look forward to more from Michelle Lynn. Perhaps a book for

I can't really understand how this has such a high rating to be honest, i can only assume there are a lot of teen reviews and they like this kind of thing.
I just really didn't enjoy it, the writing style was kind of immature ( no offence intended, i give kudos to anyone who takes the time to write a book) and the main character Maddy was just so unlikeable, i have to agree with Caroline from the book as i saw no redeeming features about Maddy - she came across to me as one of those silly little girls who know exactly what they are doing but play coy and act like they have no clue.

Love Me Back, this book left me wanting MORE !! In a good way, I never wanted it to end. I read the last page and was like NO!!!!!!! Gabe !! Maddy!! Trent!! COME BACK!!!

I give this book an amazing 5 stars! star gif photo: animated gif x3d_star_2.gif

This book goes from past to present, and I thought it might get a little confusing, but it didn't it left me wanting to know what happened in the past, but also what was going on now in the future, I wanted to read this book so quickly but wanted also to savor it. Yeah, it is one of those books! yes gif photo: Yes Thankyou image-3.gif

Growing up Maddy is best friends with Trent, through life's ups and downs they are always ending up back together, he is definitely her best friend the person she goes to for everything. But there are times when Trent can be a little selfish and ends up hurting Maddy and when that happens ((enters)) Gabe, Trent's brother. He is three years older then Maddy, and they begin to spend time together when dear old Trent doesn't want to be bothered with Maddy. I honestly don't think Maddy or Gabe saw it coming until it hit them right in the heart. arrow heart photo: Arrow in Heart arrow_in_heart.gif

They def both tried to fight it. So through the whole book it shows what goes on between two brothers, and beautiful Maddy, who feels she needs to be loyal to Trent for all they have been through but in the process falling for his gorgeous older brother. NO gif photo: No gif tumblr_lnju7kGM7u1qafrh6.gif

This poor girl has been through so much and has so much sadness in her life, I wanted to cry with her and scream WHY?? why gif photo: tennant why tumblr_m299lvuBK81r84lx6.gif

Honestly, you are probably thinking this is just the typical love triangle and that she deserves everything she is getting. You know I thought that too! But as it started to progress, I could honestly see myself in the same situation as she was in several times. I don't want to give to much away but to say this is def a must read! I found myself cheering for both of these men at different times, but I was so happy with the ending, it was perfect.

If you want a book that will tear out your heart, put it back together and then tear it out again, give you chest pains, and want to throw your kindle across the room. Then you need to read Love Me Back~! Thank you so much Michelle for sharing such a great book with us! I look forward to reading what you have coming up next! <3 exploding heart photo: Exploding Heart 2 ExplodingHeartFinal.gif

Me encantó.

description

This was definitely an intriguing story that kept me captivated from start to finish. I found myself not wanting to put put the book down needing to know what was going to happen? Who Maddy would choose??? Let's be honest for me stories with true love triangles are really hard to read. By true love triangle I mean you get to know the story of all three people involved. In this book although it's written in first person from only Maddie's POV you get her story with both the leading men Trent & Gabe. This really makes life difficult because you have to pick one and the question is what if you pick the one that she doesn't?? That would make for a pretty crappy ending in my opinion. It's really hard to delve deeply into this because it's would be really easy to spoil the book for other readers. So all I'm going to say is that for me I did like the ending, I really do think she ended up with the person she should end up with. That being said it was still difficult because you become connected to both of those characters and you feel for the one who "lost the girl". What I found really difficult to accept in this love triangle was that both of the men involved were brothers. I think it would be easier to accept the HEA here if the other brother got his HEA too... Maybe there will be another book?

I did enjoy this book and I really liked that we get to go back in time and get the history of these characters. In some books that could be confusing by not here each chapter clearly indicates what time period we are in.

This story was filled with angst, heartbreak, romance, a little frustration, and some great steam. I do have one complaint about the love scenes though (seriously don't read this part if you don't want to be able to figure out who Maddy chooses)

Overall it's a well told story and I will be looking for more books from this author.

I rated Love Me Back with FIVE LEAVES! Guys..you HAVE to read this book! First off, I want to say that I haven't found a book in a long while that I've had a hard time putting down. This book was SO hard to walk away from. It was torture not to read the next chapter to see what was going to happen. I was on the edge of my seat from the beginning. We got to find out all about Maddie's life growing up. The book starts out at age eleven and hops back and forth from her childhood to present day. Maddie is now twenty-five and heading back to the town where she grew up for her big brother's wedding. Maddie has to face her past and that is easier said than done. She is very excited to get home to see her best friend but other than that, she would rather stay in NYC. Maddie has history with Trent, the boy from her hometown, from the time she was 11 years old. We learn all about their relationship throughout the years, whether that be friendship or more. Maddie is good friends with Trent and his family, including brothers and this is where she gets herself into trouble. She also has other relationships as well that complicate things. Between these relationships and her good for nothing mother, she is sure to have drama when she is home.

I absolutely loved how connected I felt with each and every character. There are a lot of characters in this book and a majority have small roles but with the descriptions and dialogue, I felt like I knew each one and didn't get them confused. The writing style kept me on my toes and I never knew what I was up for in the next chapter to come. I loved this story and I loved the characters. I wish I knew what they were up to now!

SPOILERS A.H.E.A.D

For people who like : love triangle 👬🚶🏼
Push and pull 🤷🏼‍♀️
Drama ☕️🐸

Where should I start from ?
There are so many things that could rant about : let's see 👀

In the beginning I was slightly annoyed with the flashbacks. Though, it was necessary but it was difficult fir me to jump on from feeling one thing to another at such short time .🌸

💫Apart from that... I had my mind set on G because no matter what other stories suggest Women love good boys too.

I cannot even begin to imagine M with T. Seriously that guy was just too obnoxious for my liking. How could one be so selfish is just beyond me. It's a character but I cannot seem to digest it after the whole scenario.

If 🌪🌪 by any other chance the past was to be elaborated or had a separate book unfortunately then I think I would genuinely pass out by push and pull shit that would thoroughly decorate the story.

🔥Thankfully that wasn't the case and the boneless side of the heroine weren't explored.

I give 4 stars because I liked the ending and the development of our h but tbh the story in the ending was a little stretch out ☘️.

I am not gonna go deep on that one 🐥

I honestly don't know how Love Me Back got on my kindle. It must have been a freebie that on of my book blogs recommended. I am really glad they did. I really enjoyed Love Me Back. I loved the characters and the story. It is told from Maddie's POV in both past and present time. Maddie is going home for her brother's wedding. She comes from a small town. All the people in her brother's wedding party are part of her past including two of the three Basso Brothers. Trent has always been Maddie's love. He was her best friend growing up and her 'First' of many things. Through the years they have an on and off again relationship. Trent is very into himself and it seems always is willing to go back to Maddie when he can't have her anymore. Gabe, who is Trent's older brother is always there for Maddie, even if she doesn't see is at first. Gabe never lets her down. They have an encounter or two in the past but Maddie always goes back to Trent. The brother's relationship is strained to say the least. Their mom who practically raised Maddie too, because Maddie's mom was not mom of the year is upset her boys are fighting and her family is hurting. Maddie has to make a decision, which Basso Brother is truly her love. Actually wish there was a part two.

I absolutely loved this book. I won a free e-copy of this story and tore threw it in one afternoon. My first initial thought was it's a typical girl loves boy, loses boy and falls in love with said boys older brother. While in some aspects that's true but Maddy, Trent, and Gabe have known each other their whole lives. Trent and Maddy are best friends since they have been kids. So it's only natural that Romantic relationship will develop. That is all well and good until Maddy and Trent go off the different colleges. While Trent is away becoming a big sports star, Maddy is left with Gabe. Gabe is always around to help Maddy with her broken heart. Such an amazing story. I didn't want it to end. If you haven't read this one, Please check it out!

An easy 5 stars. I love, love, love this book.
One of the best books I've read in a while.
I love how this story ended. All the way through I kept changing my mind to which Basso it should be.
I love a story that keeps you guessing, and this book definitely kept you guessing. I kept trying to guess all the way through about the 'incident' and it wasn't what I expected for some reason and I loved it, cause books lately are so predictable.

I'll definitely be recommending this book out. Thank you for a great story. I'm looking forward to reading more of your work.

This had to be one of the hardest reviews to write ever! Seriously, it is so hard not to ruin this review by giving spoiler after spoiler! The story of Maddy and Trent is such a roller coaster ride of emotions that you don’t know if you want them together or not… then you throw Gabe in the mix and your emotions will be a total mess of confusion! This book was beautifully written and should not spend time sitting on a TBR list! It was a great read and caused a book hangover! I give this book 5+ stars!!

Hated Maddy. Hated Trent. Loved Gabe and Ian. I started reading Michelle's books because, hey we have the same name. And I've been glad to read most of them. This was the most intriguing of them but also the biggest let down, especially when compared to some of her others. I can't stand women who act like weak little door mats. I was actually cheering Gabe on when he was telling her off. That coupled with the lack of contractions made it less than perfect for me.
Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed it, reading it in one sitting, but I just couldn't get past those things.

*I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.*

Let me start of by saying that I am not normally a huge fan of love triangles, they make my heart hurt. With that being said, I LOVED this book! The relationships between Maddy, Trent and Gabe were filled with heartache but were written amazingly! I absolutely love Ian! He reminds me a lot of one of my best friends!

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who can handle a love triangle!

This was an awesome book. The character were well developed. At times throughout the book I was a complete nervous wreck. I wanted her to be with Trent then with Gabe. I just couldn't make my mind up. The further I got in the book the more I wanted to sucker punch Trent in the kidney. He was a complete douche puddle. Gabe was so careful and loved Mad with everything. Great book! Michelle Lynn is my new favorite author :)

Omg! What an awesome, awesome story! My heart was literarily hurting though this book as is I was the one this was happening to! A love triangle like no other and I was biting my nails, neglecting my family and drinking coffee non stop until I got to the end of this book! Wow, what an ending! I loved it! A must read for anyone who loves falling in love!

I was gripped in the first instance by this story but after the first half I struggled to find a reason to read until the end.

I didn't like the characters, Gabe seemed ok but Trent had very little to redeem him at all. Maddy was a thoroughly frustrating character so indecisive.

Really not a book for me but in the end I was glad that it concluded how it did.
