This was a different style of ‘look’ into the fashion world. The fact that Millie is not a size 2 makes her an anomaly in the fashion world, even though she is mostly only in the background. This was also one of the most unique romances that I have read in a long time. There was wonderful character development, vivid interactions and dialogue between characters, good plot development, humor and a terrific happily-ever-after. This book had everything I needed for a fantastic beach-read going for it .

Millicent has come upon a time in her life where she must make some very difficult decisions – will she end her career and go with her dreams or be practical? Does she let the man that she and the fashion industry believes is gay, know that she has come to want him so badly that she has some very interesting and very frustrating dreams about the pair of them?

It is interesting to see how they work things out when they have both been lying to each other. There are a few holes in the story, but nothing to make the reader pause over long or to really need to stretch their disbelief for. In fact, I liked this story so much and was so caught up with the story, that I wish there would be a Part 2. For while this may have seemed like it should have been a romance, I think of it more as a chick-lit and feel that there could be a follow up to Daniel and Millie’s lives.

Funny story, with curves.
I know nothing about the fashion world or India but absolutely caught myself laughing out loud quite a few times reading this book. At first I thought I was reading a trashy romance novel, like my sister used to collect, but quickly realized that this is an endearing romantic comedy. (Like the ones my sister also used to collect back in the 80's/90's. LoL.) Great characters and story telling from a fresh "curvy" perspective.

Fatshionista is about Millie an assistant in the highbrow world of fashion, luckily for Millie she doesn't need to worry about her weight, she just needs to make sure the clients get the best her company can offer them for every show they are wanting to show off their designs. Although in the process Millie finds herself lusting after a man who is - in her mind at least - completely a no-go area; not to mention a new recruit who seems to be eyeing up her position and her lack of any social life to speak of, Millie will be having a bit of trouble round her way.

The general concept is rather unique, a plus sized woman working in the world of fashion; although I won't lie and say at the start it did have the bells ringing of The Devil Wears Prada, however the further I got into the book the more I saw that it wasn't the case at all.

Character-wise I really wish we could have more in-depth characters in this book, as light hearted as it was, there was no love for any of the characters. I knew nothing of Millie, aside from she loves what she does in the modelling world and that she also enjoys writing on her side blog, we also learn that she has an 'adoptive' family in India who took her under their wing when she went out there during her college course. There is no explanation about why she doesn't speak of her own family, we only know that she views this family as her own. We also know nothing about her likes or dislikes, her friends or anything of the sort. We do meet her assistant/friends Ryan and Lizzie however they are very much background characters, popping in to give the book a bit of comic relief but add nothing more to the general plot or indeed to Millie's character. Which is a shame considering that Lizzie could have been such a strong character in general and Ryan could have come into his own as well.

Daniel is the love interest and he is very bland, while he and Millie do have some sexual tension filled conversations, there was nothing more in it, it was just dull and the relationship was clear from the get go. Such a shame that it was so easy to see where this book was going and not much in the way of twists or turns.

Scarlett was redundant, she was there to make some tension for Millie and yet she was dealt with in a rather off-hand manner, there could have been plenty to explore in her character rather than just the bland, rich child of a father who is getting her everything she wants to do/be. There could have been more confrontations between this character and Millie which would have added more bite to the whole book and made it less about the whole will they won't they idea.

The ending irritated me because it didn't really resolve anything, in fact everything was just left open apart from the surprise marriage which seemed a bit out of place even if this scene took place in India.

The plot was basic, enjoyable and every inch a holiday read, but it was too obvious and not enough real excitement or a good use of side characters to make it really worth re-reading.

This is a 3.5 star rating, but I was feeling generous so upgraded it.

I did really enjoy it, but I felt that some of the bits that went into quite a bit of depth were unnecessary, whereas there were other bits that could of done with that bit of depth. I'd also like to have seen an epilogue or an indication as to if there was a sequel. There was 'closure', but I just needed that little bit more from it.

Rating 5 out of 5 because it was hot enough to give me blisters! You have to read it to understand the blisters comment and I recommend it you want a short sexy read. From beginning to end I found myself fighting for both of the main characters and anxiously awaiting for them to figure things out! Loved the book and hope other will read it and love it too!

Cute story

It was a quick light read. The dream scenes I skimmed over a little but there were some funny moments. I'm glad to see authors are starting to realize that not all heroines are a size two.

A cute romantic comedy about a plus size woman who works behind the scenes in the fashion world and an Indian designer she thinks might be gay.

A little too much sexy wishing on her part and a little unrealistic preference for larger women on his.

But overall an amusing story.

I really liked the story line but way too graphic in the love department for my taste. I would have much preferred if the story focused on Millie's career and less on sex scenes.

I like the writing but I wish it was edited a little better. There is some serious issues with repetition.

3+ stars. I enjoyed the story, like the characters and was entertained by the humorous bits but didn't care for the dream scenes.

Nice little read. Cute romance, that doesn't make you overthink the plot. Fun main characters, still unsure of some of the plot devices.

Love the idea of the story but had a lot of parts that were of no interest to me. Loved the ending. Would have liked more of that.

I loved the story but was a little bit disapointed by the end... I wanted to see more and more and more of the future of Millie.
