THE SUNDAY ARRANGEMENT by Lucy Smith: I may be the only person in the world over the age of 21 who hasn’t read The Fifty Shades of Grey, but then again, I haven’t read Hunger Games or Harry Potter either. So it was somewhat on a whim that I selected this one and I am glad I did. The premise is fairly straight forward. The lovely and talented Lauren Hart is driven to take over the family business. She knows that she is as capable as any man in running the show. Then there is the distraction, a distraction that soon becomes an obsession. Her father agrees to a joint venture with the Maverick family, heretofore sworn enemies of the Harts. Picked to run the project to build a Las Vegas casino are young Pierce Maverick and Lauren. Soon Pierce turns Lauren on to pleasure in ways she'd only dreamed about. Be forewarned, Sundays with Pierce and Lauren do not involve church-going and hymn singing. However, her Sunday pleasure comes with a price, and the price Lauren may have to pay could destroy everything she's spent her life building - as well as a relationship she's only begun to comprehend. Being a man I can’t attest to the accuracy of the portrayal of inner female feelings, but as an interested observer I found the raw intensity of the feelings expressed to be beyond what I would have imagined. There is actually an interesting story surrounding the more adult parts, but to learn that you will have to read this one yourself.

Story of Pierce and Lauren - both from rich families and forced to work together to set up a casino as a joint family venture. Pierce is arrogant and Lauren headstrong. They have to spend months working together and start their Sunday arrangement. Secrets are slowly revealed and the story ends with Pierce being blackmailed. How will it end - will Pierce comply with the blackmailer? There is no mention of a follow on book at the end of this story so hopefully there will be a sequel soon. Enjoyed this book - thought this would be BDSM but turned out to be a gentler awakening for Lauren.

If somebody told me that one day I’d find myself reading an erotica novel I’d tell them that they were nuts, and obviously I’d be wrong. Since I read just every kind of literature there is out there, I’ve decided to give this book a try, if not for anything else for the fun of it.
And you know what, it is a fun read. It’s a book that takes itself seriously and lightly at the same time. To start with one of the main protagonists is called Pierce Maverick; and this is one of those cases when a name tells it all. Then there’s an unforgettable woman called Kat who’s the heroine’s best friend, and who’s absolutely into everything. And then there’s the heroine herself, Lauren, a woman with oppressed desires.
Okay this is the classic story of a woman meeting a man and taking a leap of faith with him when it comes to her sexuality. But it’s also a story about the business world, about fathers who are nothing but good and children who are trying to find their way into a world of hypocrisy and wealth, who like it or not are always on the limelight. There’s a touch of mystery here as well, as someone seems to try to sabotage everyone’s life.
The writing is quite good, the story flows effortlessly and in the end this book is, as I’ve already pointed out, a fun one to read. The friends of the genre will love it; the other readers may just secretly enjoy it.

What the hell was that?!?
Thank god this was read with my "Buddies" Otherwise this would have been a DNF.
Lauren
She acts snobby, but claims to be down to earth.
She acts smart, but is such an idiot.
She claims not to care about money, but loves her labels.
Pierce
I didn't dislike or like Pierce. He just sort of existed.
My biggest complaint was there was no editing! ( I usually don't complain about minor issues because I am sure it is not easy to write a book) HOWEVER.....
Literally Pierce would be walking into her apartment, then the next sentence it would say that she was laying on his couch. Then it would be Saturday night and all of a sudden be Wednesday at 8pm. I feel like someone ripped a few pages out of the book and never fixed it. it was so very distracting. Lauren was an idiot and making and not hiding it, is just plain dumb.
I will not be coming back if there are more in this series, considering I skipped about 40% of this book, unless of course its free. Since the prologue on this one said he was gone for decades was going to share their story makes me want to skim the next one. Although decades???

When I tried reading it, this is nothing like what I was expecting, I couldn't get into the book, that's my opinion.

Not even sure where to start...
I did not hate this - but I did not love it... I am not even sure of I liked it all that much overall. I do know that the end of this story was much better than the first 3/4 of the story. It does end on a cliffhanger - and maybe that little bit of curiosity that is lurking in the back of my mind is what will drive me to check out the next book. Hell, there are times when the second book actually redeems issues I had in the first book - so you never know. I do truly hope that the next book gets better because the idea of this story is a good one.
I am not one that really has an issue with edit issues, I can scan over a misspelled word without even catching it sometimes - but there were timeline issues and location swaps that were located within the same page that made you wonder why it wasn't caught along the way. Some terminology irked the hell out of me - it might seem like overkill to use the the same word to describe a cock throughout the book; but jumping between cock, dick, penis, pussy, vagina in scenes turned something that was starting to heat up to something clinical almost.
Now what I did enjoy was the concept of this story. The Sunday Arrangements - one day a week and swapping fantasy encounters. Two people who are obviously attracted to one another that are able to let go with each other to live out things that they never did without the comfort of this strange arrangement. There were signs of a slow building romance but the story of what was really going on was unraveling at the same time. And the lack of connection felt to both Pierce and Lauren started to click - but the downside was that it was not until the very end that it happened.
I truly hope that the second installment is worked out better - I want to see where this goes and since it will bother me to no end not to find out; I will likely end up reading it just to find out what comes of their Sunday Arrangement.

With the variety of novels directed toward the adult female entertainment audience, it is rare to find a book that is targeted toward a spectrum of readers. This book has a kind of a melting pot of incentives for an array of readers to find value in purchasing it. The book is written in a straightforward voice, that describes the sexual exploration of a young professional woman. We follow the main character as she works tirelessly at a stressful executive job that has the luxuries of limo rides and business lunch, dinners, and drinks, along side the struggles of finding a romantic side of her life.
We watch her go from being stubborn, and compelled to force others to respect her, to growing in to a strong and determined individual with the ability to command respect instead of demand it. She deals with feelings of sexual desire at her own pace and ultimately becomes more balanced because of her experiences. There is a discord between her and the company that is merging with her father’s company because of a deep seeded conflict between their families perpetuated by her father. This merger is the catalyst for her to act on some of her pent up energy and frustration. Overall this is a good book for someone who is looking for an easy read that will not subtly hint at sexuality, this book gets right to the point.

I read this Freebie as a buddy read. It was not easy to get through,if it wasn't a buddy read it may have been a did not finish.
I stuck it out, and it did get better towards the end. But between the inconsistencies, unlikable characters, and cliffhanger ending I'm glad it's over.

This book started out good for me, until about the 35% mark, then I got bored until the sex scenes, but they weren't all that I wanted either. I think the idea of a Sunday arrangement was good, playing out each others fantasies every Sundat, but I don't feel like we were in Lauren's head enough, she was holding back information from the reader. It was a good conflict that she is lusting after her father's enemy's son, but I didn't feel their connection enough. Then near the end it turned into a suspense (kind of) with a cliffhanger. I thought I was getting a romance with a happy ending! I think the author should have decided earlier if there was going to be a suspense element to this book. There were some continuity issues that I noticed but didn't care enough to get frustrated over.

Intriguing
I enjoyed that story. It moved quickly but not too quickly. I have to admit I did not see the twist that came at the end coming. That does not usually happen. Want to read the next one.

I enjoyed this more than I anticipated. Some hot scenes, though towards the end of the book the steam sorta petered out, but also an actual plot, ending on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I definitely want to read the next book.

Lauren Hart is the daughter of the head of Hart Enterprises. She works for her father and is the target of the paparazzi so she doesn’t date. And then she gets called to a meeting in her father’s office. He has done a deal with the Mavericks to work together on a big new construction project; a casino in Las Vegas. There has been a thirty year feud between the Harts and the Mavericks and Lauren can’t work out what has changed. But what else has changed is her attitude to men. She saw Pierce Maverick and she likes what she sees.

Pierce Maverick? Honestly that name is ridiculous. Now he’s ‘gone’? What is that supposed to mean? How much time has passed? When is this supposed to be set? I’m already confused by the PROLOGUE.
“The strength of their bond aroused me.” Huh? They’re handcuffs; they don’t have a bond!
Ms Hart is a dick to her staff. I already don’t like her and its page 2. And she’s rude to her father’s PA, too - that’s stupid… and she wasn’t working when she was interrupted, she was playing with her handcuffs. And when the MD calls you stop doing that… immediately.
They’ve got email so it can’t be that long ago. WHEN is this set? She has a cell phone so it might be late 1990’s? But then there are Hummer stretches, and those are pretty recent.
Wow, her professor has an imaginary beard… that’s cool… oh… wait.
Her dad made her drop out of Yale? ‘Coz you don’t need qualifications to build projects… oh… wait.
Her BFF gay friend will just stop being gay when she meets the right guy? Jeez, Lauren, don’t be offensive and ignorant.
They are going to start construction in a month when they haven’t even got a site? They can’t buy land or demolish an existing structure in that time, let alone lodge anything with the Nevada building board or whatever its called in the US. This project ought to be in a good location in Vegas and those are at a premium on the strip. And she’s supposed to be good at her job? And if her job is ‘ideas’ then this ISN’T her job. And you can’t just randomly build another casino there either; I assume existing ones would get a say in that. But I don’t know.
Oh, here’s an idea, I could research that…
She can’t have endless one night stands AND keep those out of the press if she is so recognizable; it doesn’t make sense. Nor does her constant ‘I work so hard’ whine when she spends a lot of time playing with handcuffs, dreaming of her vibrator, shopping for new dresses, getting her nails done, eating out and getting gropey massages. She hasn’t had a single meeting with anyone other than dad so far.
Okay, ellipses indicate voice trailing off, if it is an interruption it should be a dash.
Crap. I am STUCK in edit mode. But if I am editing, then the story hasn’t grabbed me and I’m at 14%.
Weird how no-one seems to know what this deal is other than suitably vague ‘it’ll be great’ phrases. I mean, the author doesn’t have to list it for the readers but she should say that the characters at least spent hours poring over plans or something.
“Be there at 7:30 or the jet leaves without you.” At 7:40 I stood… dear god… so she waited after saying she wouldn’t? Wimp. And then she orders champagne on a breakfast flight? ‘Coz that’s so professional. She called it Buck’s fizz??? When IS this set?
WAIT! It was 7:30 on Saturday night and she said jet would take off ‘in the morning’ and then it was Monday; we lost all of Sunday. Oopsies.
I actually laughed out loud at the description of the show they went to.
Groping in the elevator? When they are both press targets, and by the way - where are the press? Don’t they follow them everywhere?

Toss them into a pot and you get this book where Lauren ('Lo') is partnered up with Pierce (Sorry, all I see is Pierce from Community) because both their dads fall into a partnership to build a casino together in Vegas. But they're bitter rivals!!!
I haven't read many ~steamy books before (hence starting this blog) but there are some intense eye-fucking scenes between these two. And actual fucking. Check and check. As the title said, the two falls into a 'Sunday arrangement' where they take turns coming up with ways to fuck each other.
It is good... then it gets weird after the first few meet ups. Things were hot and steamy (and yummy), but then it gets awkward when they throw in plot into the sex. I mean it's not PWP (Plot? What Plot) but it's still disrupting my flow. I want my sex interrupted! as in why is there plot in their threesomes? Wait, there's another threesome? Oh another one? Well it just got less hot.
Oh right. There's actual plot here too as you (and our female protagonist) wonders why her father would go into partnership with his bitter rival. But who reads for plot, right?
I give this 3/5 for some steamy sex encounters and not overly cliché storyline. But I took 2 off for the boring sex scenes and I'm not here for the author's tone with two catty women fighting over a man while the man get to be 'possessive' with his woman. No thank you.
I'm also not a fan of serial books like this because I don't constantly follow updates of the next book. Or the fact that I have to wait to see what happens. Yeah, I get that it's to sell more books, etc. But it doesn't help when I am tempted to read the next book but don't really want to bother.

This was an original plot that had a lot of potential. Meeting once a week to fulfill sexual fantasies, no strings attached, no hurt feelings - how can this possibly go wrong? OK, so it was a little predictable that feelings would get in the way, but Lauren handled it well. She didn't become needy and overly jealous like I expected her to behave. She stuck to her guns, even when she started to care for Pierce more than she would have liked to. She remained professional when she was expected during the week and even when they had their encounters on Sunday, she didn't expect cuddling or romantic words. Pierce was a jerk throughout most of the book. I initially didn't like him very much. His interest in Lauren was limited, except of course on Sundays. He really didn't seem to like Lauren most days, so it confused me that she would even want to continue with their arrangement. It wasn't until Lauren's best friend, Kat came into the picture that he showed any kind of emotion for Lauren. Up until that point, I actually wanted Lauren to hook up with Kat! It took Pierce having to compete for Lauren's attention to realize he had feelings for her. Although there was no declaration of love between the two, they grew on me and by the end I was routing for them to get together, but due to Pierce's crazy as hell ex-assistant, they never got to have their HEA, just a WTF are we gonna do now? I would have liked to see more Monday through Thursday interaction. There were snippets, but nothing substantial. The cliffhanger at the end was pretty good, so I'm eager to read the next book. I originally was going to give this a 3 1/2 star rating, but as I read on, the story drew me in more and the characters became more likable, so 4 stars it is.

Lauren and Pierce are working on a hotel together. Only how she treats him causes a problem. Pierce tries with Lauren. He tries to win her over, but it's been ingrained in her that the Maverick's are nothing but trouble. Then they head to Vegas to start their joint project. Pierce is direct with Lauren, letting her know, how he feels. An arrangement is agreed upon. Fantasies are acted out, things get twisted and turned. They danced to close to the edge of the fire and get burned.
When the truth comes out, Lauren is shocked. She is torn between loyalty to her family/business or protecting herself.

Pierce is a hard read. I can't figure him out. I think he likes Lauren, but I'm not sure. I think a part of him does like her, but he is protecting himself too.
Lucas, the chef. He and Lauren needed to hook up afterwards. It was there for the taken and I hoped it would happen. Disappointed.
The end seemed a little predictable with all the animosity. It was easy to read/see coming. I will be picking up book #2 in the Fantasy series. I need to know what happens.

The Sunday Arrangement is a delectable delicious treat for anyone who is into erotica. The moment I started reading this book I could not put it down. The main character Lauren was likeable from the start. She is from a different world full of privilege, high society and extreme wealth, but yet there were many attributes that I could relate to. She is extremely bright, beautiful and successful in her work yet has her own insecurities to deal with.
Now let’s focus on the dreamy Pierce Maverick. Everything about him screams yummy. He is gorgeous, intelligent, worldly and extremely wealthy. And please let’s not leave out how magical he is in between the sheets. I personally want to thank the writer for the descriptive bedroom scenes. Or chaise lounge sofa scene, sofa in a night club scene, oh and yes the kitchen island scene. I have to admit this book was tastefully constructed to capture the reader with the storyline, but also rewarded us with the steamy sexual encounters.
I am so excited to see what happens next. There is definitely room for a second book. I don’t want to give away too much, but I am curious to see how Pierce and Lauren will handle their issue towards the end of the book.
If you like, fire in between the sheets/hot sex on a platter reading. This book is for you. Five stars from me.

Ultimately, I very much enjoyed this book; it is a sexy and entertaining read.
Its prologue draws you in and peaks your curiosity, although there is an unfortunate loss of momentum in the subsequent few chapters. These concentrate on the introduction of the main characters and setting the (rather dull) business scene in New York, and on demonstrating the author’s penchant for adjectives - but without any spice! This is compounded by the outlining of what have the potential to be steamy dual or solo experiences, in chapters three and four, which go nowhere.
However, all that changes once the story moves to Las Vegas. The excitement and passion of the city and its attractions are articulately explored, and the first sex scenes are urgent and racy. Those that follow are equally thrilling and at times outrageous. I was concerned about the potential for clichés, in the vein of ‘sexually unadventurous woman meets arrogant and egotistical but sexy man’, and in the appearance of the phrase ‘Inner sexual goddess’, but in fact the book’s premise allows for a variety of raunchy sexual situations, with very little repetition, which makes it a fun and compelling read.
Add to this the seam of mystery that runs through the book, and the twist in the final chapter, and you have a really enjoyable story.

Is there a better way to spend your Sunday than playing out a sexual fantasy of your choice?
The Sunday Arrangement is a novel that combines romance, suspense and sexual fantasy to create a really engaging story. The story rotates around how two people, whose families have been lifetime enemies, are brought together to work on a joint project for the families. The two have to shift to Las Vegas where they are planning to build a casino and have to work together for next few months or so.
From the very first time they met, there was a strong sexual current between the two but both were afraid to explore this because they were not sure where it would lead and more importantly, they are afraid of what their fathers would do if they ever found out that they are in any relationship other than business.
They finally decide to live their lives, after all they were in Vegas. They came up with a win-win arrangement that involved fantastic sexual satisfaction and this all seemed to works perfectly until they crossed certain lines and push a certain people over the edge.
What will keep you glued to the book is the suspense of what will happen next and where their relationship is heading.
I hope there is a Book II so I can know how this really worked out in the end.

As I write this review I have no idea in this world what I just read .. First lets start with the good..the sex was awesome.. the description of the sex not so much.. The use of three words in one paragraph to describe a cock was a little to much for me The days of the week were a little backwards it would be Saturday Night but, Friday and a couple of other REALLY weird things. I did not hate the book but, I definitely was not as excited as I was after reading other reviews. I honestly left the book feeling confused as all get out. 
. There were parts that I liked and the ending other than the much anticipated cliffhanger was honestly pretty interesting but, again just odd. I won't give this book a one because I didn't hate it but, I would have to say 2.5 stars and rate it at a 2 because it just wasn't there for me. I have read Fifty Shades and the comparison is nothing similar. I am just shell shocked after reading this because I am still freakin confused. The sad think is if there is a book 2 I hope there is some major editing but, I will have to read it because now I want to know how things ended!

I had a real hard time getting into this. The premise was good, but the execution just fell flat for me. I did not like Lauren (our main character) and I felt like a barely knew Pierce. Lauren seemed shallow and spoiled. For wanting to be a great CEO and move her way up the corporate ladder, there was very little about her business sense. She was insecure and at times childish. I really don’t know much about this Pierce character to form an opinion. He barely talked and when he was around Lauren’s read on his mood seemed off. The book was based on mostly on sex, and while I like books like that this one just didn’t work for me. Some of the scenes felt forced and awkward. It reminded me of porn, where the little bit of story was overshadowed by the ridiculous sex. I think I would have liked it better if the story behind the escapades was stronger, if Lauren was a more well-rounded character and I knew more about the arrogant male lead, Pierce. It also ended strange and left in a bit of a cliff-hanger.

I started "The Sunday Arrangment" late last night and had to read it to the end. Just for the fact that I could not put it down gets 5 stars. I wasn't sure what to expect, but the story caught me from the beginning and then I was hooked. I loved the characters of Lauren and Pierce and was really into seeing their relationship develop and deepen. The sex was hot and even though a couple of fantasies did not appeal to me personally, I still felt their erotic nature viscerally. I did not want to like them, but I did.
In the beginning, I was a little thrown by the use of the word "decades", I am not sure how that is going to fit in, but I see from Ms. Smith's website that this will be a trilogy (sigh....another one where I am waiting for the next book to come out), so I am supposing all will be revealed eventually.
I hope the second book is not too far behind.

I tried to make it to my mandatory 20% before I give up on a book but there was nothing to keep me interested in this one. The dialogue was boring, while I know the story had to build up it felt like it never would. I couldn't tell the age of Pierce because she's describing him as newly graduated but yet she's in lust w him, I couldn't tell how much older she was supposed to be either. But what really made me finally give up was when she was at a family dinner on Saturday, told pierce the plane would take off in the morning at 730 and then the next mornings chapter starts off with: Monday morning at 740 she's waiting by the jet. What?? So nope can't do it. Don't mind having to correct some misspelled words or misplaced words but to not even know what day is supposed to be what in a story. Can't do it.

Well, this was certainly an interesting book to pick to read on the morning commute...
Non-adult plot wise I enjoyed this, the intrigue before the families, the brother being partly involved - it was pretty decent. Adult plot wise well. Another kettle of fish. The idea that you try out a new fantasy each weekend was fine, the fantasies were rather run of the mill however (though I suppose that might allow the reader to input themselves into the story) and honestly not brilliantly written. I've read worse, but I have read better.
The big plot twist/cliffhanger ending - yeah kinda obvious, so not a lot to say really.
Overall, I feel that the prologue of this book set up this intriguing narrative which the book just did *not* fulfil. Perhaps if we had a conclusion that explained why we had that prologue I'd think more of this but as it is.. I feel unimpressed.

Loved, loved, loved it
Loved it but hated the end. It's a long story not a short series. Very well written. You could connect to the characters and the events and feel the bond between them. Can't wait to read the next book.

Now she is forced to work with him to please their fathers. Soon Lauren and Pierce become friends. They then decide that every Sunday they will explore a fantasy as they are building their fantasy hotel and casino. But business and pleasure can cause issues. Well they build a better bond or stop the business from happening.

3 stars. I was annoyed when I finished the book, but on further reflection I guess it's alright. It's a cliffhanger (with the sequel in the works) which I was not expecting. There is much more to tell in their story, so I'm glad that's not the end. I'm not sure why I was left feeling so unsatisfied.
I liked the rest of the book though. The weekly surprise, the way they didn't immediate fall for each other, the gradual build up. All of it worked. The constant references to the media and her fear of being caught seemed over the top, but I see why it was necessary. Overall, it was good, but not great.

Ended before it ended
I guess this was inevitable with the advent of ebooks and the proliferation of stuff to read in general. If you offer a book for free, you will get readers. Readers seek resolution. So how to make sales? Engage them in the story, but then end it abruptly with a cliffhanger, like a TV show. Well,that really didn't work for me. It makes me a little angry, actually, that I have effectively wasted my time reading this book which turned out to be nothing more than an ad. Violate readers' generic expectations, and unless you are one helluva writer, you will likely alienate them. Like you just did to me.

2.5-3 There were just so many mistakes and holes.
The storyline was good i liked what the author was going for. But wow did she mess up on a lot of different parts of the book. From going from a Saturday to a Sunday within a day to they were at her place but somehow at his place them same time he's leaving her place. It was kind of all mixed up! But i am interested in reading the next book if there is one because i need to know what the fuck is going to happen next! And I'm hoping the next one is better composed.
