A series of diary entries through the eyes of a young girl as she tries to survive the end of the world.
Kellie has found stability with her new home and family, and is coming to terms with the events of her past. Yet stability, like everything else, doesn't last forever.
The third of the Kellie's Diary series was a little disappointing to me. I felt it was a bit short, even though big changes occurred, and was more rambling than previous episodes. There was a break time-wise of a year before the start of this novelette and yet Kellie doesn't seem to have gotten any more mature, although she has now hit puberty. It's almost as if she has emotionally arrested at around 9 years of age. This along with her seeing things that aren't there when she is under stress clearly show she is suffering PTSD. We are again left at a penultimate moment (no spoilers here!) and I simply couldn't leave the story as is, so I have downloaded the next in the series. I get the feeling the story is heading into a sickenly gut wrenching episode.
Yet another amazing installment. Man, do I wish they were longer! I honestly can't wait to get my hands on the next book, it's been a while since I've found a series that hooks me like this!
It's one year later, and Kellie's growing up in the fortified trailer park that she now calls home. Although her besties are still her stuffed rabbit Mr. Floppy and the diary she calls Barbie, Kellie's tying to make real friends in the park. Things go awry, of course, when someone discovers a hole in the fence and decides to go through it.
Events in this book move along quickly, and Kellie finds herself on the move again in search of a safe place.
I'm enjoying Kellie, and certainly wish her story were longer.
This addition to the "Kellie's Diary" series is a little longer then the last, but the events that take place in it are very realistic. If we were to be taken over by Zombies, and a child was to right down their day to day life during that time, I see the results to be quite the same. For short stories these have to be the most in-depth and interesting ones I have read to date..
I can't get enough of little Kellie and her adventurous story! She has been through so much in her young life facing a Zombie apocalypse. It is a rollercoaster ride of ups and down as we see through her diary entries as she grows from a little girl to a young adolescent. So many changes and challenges to vs face! The books are just too short! On to number four! The train is a'rollin!
3.5 stars rounded up to 4. I'm still on the fence about these books..I'm not hooked, so why do I keep reading them? Curious I guess. This one had a lot more action and stuff happened. It's very Walking Dead like. Which is a show I liked at first, but then tired of. Maybe I'm doing the same with these books..I like more blood and guts with my horror personally.
The third entry in Kellie's Diary is far more sophisticated. Not only are.zombies the issue but so are humans. The humans are more dangerous than the zombies. I hope Kellie survives in the next installment and is a better shot.
Little Kellie's journey grows darker and darker. The events are getting harder to digest and my concern about what might happen to little Kellie, grows with every page I leave behind.
Even after finding a familiar face and the closest thing she currently has to a home, Kellie can't catch a break. This too is soon ripped from under her and it becomes apparent that all the trauma she has endured is taking its toll on her. She has become wiser and more skilled, but she is still a mere child, and there are some things children just aren't ready to face...
help I can't put it down 5 stars and now I have to get the rest of the series update: I had to go buy the rest of the series and now off to finish reading these authors are awesome
