The first half of "Wish" mainly focused on Sydney's crush. I found this really annoying, as the magic part sort of got pushed to the side.
She just got told she's a witch, and she starts freaking out for a few minutes. Then her crush becomes obsessed with her, due to the wish she made while blowing out her candles.
From that point, it's all about the crush, and she only uses her powers to wish he, and his ex, go away.
The second half did focus on the magic side more, so it wasn't as boring as the first half.
Though, i still found Sydney annoying, so i still didn't particularly like it.

Sydney seemed quite immature, she just turned 16, but acted like she just turned 13.
The only character i liked was Stevie, but i did like her that much. Stevie was just the character that annoyed me the least.

Overall, i found this was aimed more at the younger side of YA, as the majority of it focuses on her first crush, and getting her period for the first time.
